How dangerous is it to chip your PS2 to allow the playing of "backups"? :icon_lol:

I bought my PS2 already "chipped" and this was 3 years ago almost, never had any problems so far. If you go to specialised shops, who know what theyre doing, then i'm sure its okay.

I chipped mine using the Neo chip, but most "backups" require the Messiah 2 chip, I wouldn't recommend attempting to chip your PS2, it requires dismantling the whole machine circuit board by circuit board, get someone to do it for you !

I've got a Jap PStwo and a PAL PS2, what's the easiest way to allow backups to run? Does the old trick of starting a normal game and then swapping them after the logo comes up still work? I'm thinking no as the eject button might now reboot the console?

I know you can get soft-mods; Matt, you being familiar with France might be able to tell me if any game chains sell soft-mods that you know of?

i honestly don't know :icon_lol: havent really looked around at what's available since I bought mine.

Got WE10 today then, gave it a go, and it's probably the closest game to its predecessor yet. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Little tweaks have made more enjoyable at first glance, the dribbling, the shooting, and the GK animatics especially, they now look much more realistic.

Will see how goes after a few more hours on it.

Minimal annual updates to a series (OMG NEW BOOTS).

I think the way Konami have played the online customers two years running should ensure they never get more kudos than EA.

Cheers for the tips lads, off to find an expired credit card.

Finally had a go at this today. First impressions - it's way more free-flowing and enjoyable than the last 2, but it's so similar to the last version that you barely notice the differrence sometimes, I'd be sick if I'd payed 50 quid for something this similar, but I may well get it for the 360.

PLayed this quite a bit over the last 2 days ... it sucks really.

Some great animations, and additions but so many cases where they've tried to fix something that wasn't broke.

The good thing about this being out so early, they'll have lots of time to fix things for PES6.
