  1. That owner doesn’t have the money to bankroll them out the Championship, they’re not a draw TV wise, and sell their tickets for cheap. If they did manage to get promoted they’ll be Championship relegation fodder. The two carpet baggers are just hoping they can get to the Championship and sell for a profit imo, the Will Grigg purchase was them gambling on trying to get back. If it doesn’t work I think they’ll have to cost cut even more and will end up mid table League One. Its got the potential to be fucking hilarious.

  2. Hey used to post on here a bunch like 6-7 years ago, and taking this exciting signing of Almiron to jump back on for a bit. I follow a bit of MLS and know a bunch of people who work in the League. Newcastle is going to love Almiron. He's not a similar player to Ben Arfa, but he brings the same if not more excitement. He works fucking hard, loves to track back and put in a shift. Pardew would've played him - though probably at left back. He'll take players on and draws lots of fouls, but as far as I know that's more from using his pace and acceleration rather than the tight, intricate footwork of Ben Arfa. Almiron always has a smile on his face, and plays with out fear. Not the type of player who will fall into a sulk like Ben Arfa was prone to. And obviously with his work ethic and ability to be coached, Rafa will love him as well. Can't wait to see what this exciting kid does for us, my only hope is that Ashley sells soon so it's not two years of Almiron and then we sell him off for £75m to Liverpool.

  3. I am in Spain right now with friends. Got here yesterday with Ryanair (never again). Thankfully this rented property in Barcelona is working out really well for us after a horrible flight. Weather is a bit cold, lots of wind and sometimes rainy but when you are in a good company it actually doesn't matter.

  4. No great surprise considering he used to hang out the back of Taggarts arse when he managed Man U, and its fair to say the puce faced twat wasn't Rafas biggest fan.

  5. Imagine being in your 60s and having to spout shite like that to desperately try to be relevant. He should grow old gracefully, retire, and stop fucking his daughter’s mates.

  7. I don’t think the loan has anything to do with the asking price. Otherwise he could’ve easily ask for just 200m (or less) plus his loan in instalments. its all a scam tbh

  8. If they fail to get promoted this season the majority will turn big time on the ownership and it will be downhill from there, they will be stuck in league 1 for years to come imo

  9. They won't be back. Once the good will towards the Don expires they'll be down to sub 10k crowds and probably fall further

  10. Yeah, it’s a bit of a non argument really as those players we had in the Championship are by and large the ones we have keeping us in the PL. While they’re not great, and a club with a proper owner would have improved, they’re better in the PL than Will Grigg is in the Championship. We definitely aren’t saddled with them either tbh, Gayle, Ritchie etc could all be sold for similar amounts they were bought, and we offloaded a lot of the squad players like Hanley etc. Its not like mackems to talk absolute twaddle though is it?

  14. Real shame about Jeremy Hardy. Explains why his tweets went a bit strange recently, I suppose.

  16. Have just been reading RTG to see how their race for strikers is going and it is predictably amusing this far With the caveat that they may well get in a striker, the chain of events seems to be as follows: 1 - Stewart Donald spends January giving it the big un about the mighty financial power of Sunderland and how 'most championship clubs would want the budget that SAFC has' 2 - Maja, a totally mediocre striker but also their only outlet all season of note, is sold. 3 - Donald claims they will get two new strikers in no problem. 4 - They arse around with a bid for Will Grigg. Deadline day comes in, Sunderland bid £1.5m, Wigan turn around and demand £3m since 'most championship clubs would want Sunderland's budget'. Sunderland mysteriously go quiet. 5 - At midday, it is announced on SSN that an unnamed PL striker is having a medical with a view to a loan move. Nothing is then heard about this for several hours, until eventually SSN reveal that actually, that never happened. Meaning it was a ruse to make SAFC look less desperate than they actually are. A ruse seemingly bought by no one. So as things stand, they have one senior striker in the squad, and he's beyond terrible. It could all change, but they're absolutely frantic about it. The thread that was started about the PL loan player at lunch time has his 70+ pages in a few hours

  17. Benitez seems to like the 3 CBs though and when that's arguably our strongest position it makes sense to keep using it. Can't imagine we're going to change to a 4-4-2, or owt.

  19. A desperation signing for fear of Benitez leaving. Benitez should leave anyway, if one average fee player convinces him that Ashley has turned the corner then he's pretty gullible

  20. Quality that we've got these 2 in. I dont want to be the one to put a downer on it but lets be real here, we know we were scouting Almerion through the summer so why the fuck didnt Ashley just pull the trigger then? Its so fucking frustrating man, think about what it took for him to spend some mon- uh.. take out a loan The dreaded hope is back now.. maybe he will fuck off after all this summer and Rafa will sign a 5 year deal with new owners. LMAO

  21. Aye I think that’s bollocks about Ritchie. The player wanting a move away is Shelvey, apparently he was confident and wanted a break clause put in his lease and the homeowner agreed as long as it could be activated by both. Doesn’t look like he got his move and apparently the person he’s renting off activated the break clause as they wanted him out anyway. Could be bollocks but it’s just what I heard.
