Keep up the good work. Looks as though our season may depend on both you and @Howmanheyman. 👍9 points

You’re doing really well. It’s not fucking easy. It’s an addiction. Just keep at it. It’s worth it because you know there’s no real alternative. I think just about everyone who tries to give up suffers relapses. It’s such a readily available drug. It doesn’t detract from how well you’ve dove so far. It’s just a reminder it’s tough. Good luck. Literally everyone on here is rooting for you and respects your honesty.8 points

Can we at least agree that Schar played a blinder with that challenge? Not only was his recovery run class and his tackle timed to perfection but on the roll over he looked like he caught Duran which I choose to believe was intentional knowing he’d snap and get himself sent off. Of course, it may well have been an accident (and most likely was) but I want to live in a world where we are back to our shithousing best. The absolute brass neck of the brummy cunts calling any other team dirty when they have McGinn in their team.8 points

I guess I'm not fully committed to. complete abstinence yet. Sometimes I am fine. Most the time. On holidays somewhere hot I just have the odd beer and enjoy it, no problem.Normally I have nowt in the house and can have a couple of drinks with a meal, and that's it. It adds to my enjoyment But sometimes I just flip. Today I'm just hungover really, will stay off the drink without much bother. But in July I literally went on a bender for no reason, I lost 4 days out of my life and don't even know why. Can't remember it. And of course 2 years ago I ended up in hospital for a week I was so bad with it. Nearly died I was so fucked up. I know I need to stop. I don't want my kids seeing me like this. But sad as it sounds I don't have a lot of other pleasures in my life. I'm tempted just to say one day at a time. And I won't drink for a few weeks, maybe months. Then I'll be sensible. And then won't in time - in maybe 6 months or a year I self destruct and I'll hate myself. Anyway, cheers, writing this down has convinced me I need help.I can't pretend I can do this on my own anymore. I'm ill.7 points

"Could we have a word, Andrew? I'm detective Crockett, CT for short and this is my colleague, detective Tubbs from the serious Settee Crime division, we hear there's been an incident involving a wrong sofa being delivered? Before we go any further I'd like to recommend SCS in South Shields for any future three piece furniture purchases, they offer interest free credit for up to twelve months and will also dispose of your old settee for only ÂŁ15. Tell them CT sent you, Paisan and you may well get a further discount. It was my old patch."7 points

It'll be all about 1996, the twelve point lead and 'Yewnighted' hunting us down where a shy Roy Keane will tell the presenter it's old news and nobody is interested anymore. They might have a token NUFC player in from that era to rub his nose in it whilst praying they can rub the current NUFC players noses in it by a 'Yewnighted' victory. If we win then it'll be a full on post mortem with concerned faces about what is going wrong at 'yewnighted' with NUFC being a complete afterthought.6 points

The easy ride Amorim is getting btw. I actually think he does need time cos they're a bit of a mess, but compare their plight to when Howe turned up here, and it's a million miles apart. They shouldn't have lost 4 of his first 5 PL games but they have, and because the club has so many media mates it's basically just fine.6 points

Didn't realise this was the picture on Tindall's hoodie until just now:6 points

not so sure about that to be honest. I thought after a fantastic start with gordon's screamer that we were pretty sloppy and laboured at times for the rest of the 1st half and failed to capitalise on the sending off. was disappointed to end the 1st half at 1-0 . couldn't help but remember the 1-2 against the bindippers last season. anyway, shouldn't have worried, much improved in the 2nd half, it was almost like I'd forgot we were just playing an absolutey shite team of thick as pigshit fucking benny's from a god forsaken hovel in the midlands.6 points

The camera angle from directly behind is the clincher for me. He's absolutely tried to rake his studs up schar's back and play it off as an accident. Ramsey feigning an elbow to the face rules out any moaning the cunts can have about our players response to the Duran foul.6 points

A convincing win at Old Trafford would still be my favorite result of the season, unless we reach a cup final. Please let's batter these.6 points

@Renton We appreciate your openness about what you are going through. That is an important step in getting help as a lot of people are embarrassed, thinks it makes them feel less of a man, etc and therefore choose to not let their thoughts out. They don't understand that this is very detrimental to their mental well being and psyche. Before I started working in special education, I worked in a mental health hospital and our patients had an alcohol dependence or illicit substance dependence along with a mental disorder (I.e. Schizophrenia, Major Depression, etc) so I am quite familiar with how hard it is on a daily basis. Always irks me when people say, 'Stop feeling sorry for yourself and just quit, its not that hard' Or 'Never drink to begin with and then don't have to worry about becoming addicted and/or dependent'. Ah, if only it were that simple. I have never been dependent myself, but have a lot of family who have and again the aforementioned job related experience. Key will be my friend is for you to keep talking about it, talk to others who are going through the same thing, and do things that make you happy and understand you are worth more than your next drink if that makes sense. We all hope you can get better in 2025 and I know some good websites and resources you can use if want to DM me. Ryan5 points

Wish I had better advice but as everyone else has said, being annoyed that you’ve fell short of perfection isn’t the way to go. It was always going to be a long job and you’ve done incredibly well up to now. And remember, when you’re hungover, everything seems a hundred times worse. Get yourself an early night and you’ll have a fresh perspective tomorrow, I’d bet on it5 points

Sorry Rents, this must be rough as fuck. Keep talking about it, even if it's just on here. Don't have a drink to 'get you through' something though. You'll feel doubly bad if you do.5 points

12 games. No goals and assists. He did score the winner in the FA cup final too tbf to him and whenever he got on for England I've thought he's looked decent. He's still a kid though and playing in a midfield alongside the reanimated corpse of Casemiro, a lazy, petulant goofy cunt or a Danish fella who literally died a few years back - so I don't think it's all on him in that respect. But aye, he's not as good as the media hyped him up to be.5 points

Clear as day red for me, how often do you ever see a player accidentally stand on another, it just never happens, natural instinct is to do whatever you can to make sure you don't. He meant it.5 points

Villa forum is utterly hilarious! This ref is pathetic giving them everything and letting them do what they like. This is how things can get out of hand. Which leads to things like that red. Ref has created this. .... That’s not a red .... how could that be deemed intentional .... That's a ridiculous decision . He was off balance , he's got to put his foot somewhere .... This fucker of a ref is an absolute disgrace. Where the fuck was he supposed to put his foot? .... Not a red for me. .... Never ever a red. .... No way that was deliberate. Game ruined by another shit ref decision. .... So joelinton going elbow first into the back of Cash isn't a foul. .... Are this commentary team Noocastle season ticket holders? .... It was obviously accidental. Taylor has just decided Newcastle will win the game. Woeful decision .... So he's been sent off for moving his foot to somewhere "near" the player's head according to Clattenburg. Which shows intent apparently. I'd have said it showed intent to NOT kick hi in the head. This is a fucking joke. .... You can see his standing leg slip from under him a little immediately before the "stamp". I think he's been really harshly done by there. .... Isak walks all over Konsa but that's only accidental according to these tossers on commentary. .... I don't think it's a red. What's he supposed to do, levitate over Schar till he's a safe distance away? .... Re: Joelinton where the replay showed no contact anywhere near the head and a massive flop from their player: That’s more violent intent than Duran’s was. Neither a red .... Joelinton gets a yellow for a flailing arm that 8 out of 10 times would be red. .... Honestly, they are the fucking dirtiest team in this division by a mile. But always, always get away with it. .... We where the better team before the red card - that is the takeaway. .... And their whining just goes on and on as the game progresses. To be fair there were a few of them, presumably with eyes, that acknowledged that it was a clear red and that the ref had got most things right but they were but a drop in the ocean filled with their bitter tears.5 points

Apparently Emery was ranting on in the tunnel and Tindall, fucking knowing how annoying it would be, just kept shushing him. That's what kicked it all off cos a load of their players reacted. Lovely stuff. That's according to Hope's YouTube patter.4 points

Quite blatantly ignoring the fact he turned his ankle by standing on Schar which was very avoidable.4 points

Shearer and Joe Hart. All three said he was very unlucky to get a red. All three completely wrong.4 points

You'll be happy to know then I'll be flying during the Manu game. This worked two years back too, Spurs 5 nil after 20 minutes After that somebody else needs to take over.4 points

Great result. Another great performance. Really building some nice momentum now. It's difficult to pick a player of the game. We had a lot of excellent performances. Never looked troubled by them. Even before the red card. Loved Emery's post-match press conference, too. Mad Dog has done the poor muppet over. Howe has him sussed tactically. Duran's red is clear violent conduct. One, two, three, nil. And all of that has added up to Count Chocula coming into the press room ranting and raving like an escaped loon. Beautiful!4 points

Whilst it is good for us that Fernandes and Ugarte are both out for them, we still cannot take them lightly as I am sure Amorim is already feeling the pressure and will want to get a result, no matter what it takes. Just need to come out focused as we did today though and we will be fine. 1-3 to the good guys.4 points

Isak is similar - it's good to see players standing up for each other like that, like they really do care about their teammates. All in it together.4 points

I fucking love how Joelinton will fight absolutely anyone that fouls one of our team. He was after Duran immediately today4 points

The way people went on about him 6 month ago, you would have been mistaken for thinking he was the next Jack Clarke. He's decent for his age, and is currently horribly exposed playing at a club with that profile and in that much bother. There's another 10 PL clubs he'd have a better chance of building a career at, which is a pretty sad indictment of the current state of that lot. I just think on NYE everybody should raise a glass to Jim Ratcliffe, Dave Brailsford, and the sadly departed Eric Ten Hag for the entertainment they've provided in the last 12 months, and the entertainment they're sure to continue providing in 2025.3 points
