Just watched Amorim's press conference and it was just one manc reporter after another telling him that surely he needs to compromise and change his system to accommodate the players. In the end he goes "these players were bought to play a very specific system for which they've been coached and had two pre seasons, and they were losing games constantly. If they can't win games playing the exact system they were bought and coached to play, then why would I compromise and go back to that system." Fair play, it's a good point. Genuinely ridiculous to be listening to reporters trying to tell a manager how to do his job as well.12 points

Thought we sat back way too much in the second half, but overall very pleased with the performance and never easy coming away from Old Trafford with 3 points in the bag. Now 5th in the table, let's keep climbing! On a side note: I was in a local bar and was the only Toon fan in the whole thing. Of course some plastic Man U fans were on the other side and I couldn't help but let us say...overly celebrate our goals haha. One of them told me to pipe down and I told him to pull out his Amorim doll and say a prayer to him for the second half. He flipped me off and went back to stuffing his face with chicken wings. Think it also helped that I am 6'3 280 pounds and he looked like Tom Hanks on crack š11 points

In fairness this has quite literally been the easiest run of games we've had all season - I'll take credit for the free flowing goals though, that's all on me.9 points

Have to pay tribute to Sandro. Itās no coincidence that our turn in form coincided with him starting games at the base of our midfield. Heās been superb in every game, linking up superbly with Bruno and allowing him to play further forwards where he can provide that creative spark we have lacked, as he did once again yesterday against the Manc twats. This midfield is finally looking like we hoped it would. I donāt think Iād swap it for any other in the league tbh - is there a better midfield three pairing?7 points

Seems like Ratcliffe wanted a manager who'd be easy to get in on the cheap rather than trying get a proven PL manager. Sounds like several managers we got under Ashley. I thought I would never wish Ashley on anyone. Turns out that was bullshit. This is wonderful.7 points

When you're at home to the Toon and you go 2-0 doon, that's Amorim When you play 3 at the back and the defence is still slack - that's Amorim You've lost four on the bounce and you're frequently trounced - that's Amorim When Rash's in a mood and you should have kept Ruud.... Some cheeky cunt saying Howe is like an upgraded Pulis or Dyche. They would fucking kill to have Howe there sorting their mess out.6 points

We're so scared of them that the sight of them only 4 places below the PL has sent us rocketing up the league to get away from them.6 points

I said a loan back to Italy wouldnāt surprise me when he was looking like a lost sheep every time he wandered on to the pitchā¦. Itās fairly unlikely nowā¦.its not like I said he was definitely leaving on at least three separate occasions5 points

I don't think it was a mutual parting of the ways with Ashworth at all btw. The day he left he'd been to see their youth team play and the first team, and was apparently walked off the premises at Carrington. Bloke was sacked.5 points

He also responded to a question in his interview on the American stream about his tactics - and would he need to change them. He just says something to the effect of - I change the tactics all the time but people seem to be obsessed with the three centre backs as if it's somehow the be all and end all of tactics. I like the bloke, I think he's probably too genuinely canny to be managing that shit show like and I think it seems like he's already starting to regret leaving Sporting.5 points

ALL HAIL DAZZLER Tempting to bring Botman in but much more likely to be Kelly who doesn't offer the same distribution but does look more at home at CB than LB. Let's keep this run going.5 points

As much as I despise Liverpool, I'd love them to stuff "United" 9-0 at the weekend Eddie has got a couple of demons off his back this season too. Never won at old Trafford in the league plus we managed to get a result vs Liverpool. These are all big psychological milestones5 points

Listen, I know people wanted to hear from Howe, but once Neville came on and him and Carra started mining that rich seam of banter, there's no way Sky could pull away from it. It would have been irresponsible. If you haven't been watching, they made predictions at the start of the season and, you're not gonna believe this, but they got some of them wrong. And well, you can imagine the BANTER. Top drawer. Just TV gold.5 points

EPL have charged the beige stamper with āimproper behaviourā for the tantrum after he was sent off. Quite right too.4 points

Heās possibly not as press-resistant as Bruno in the number 6 role, but he brings other qualities - athleticism, a surprising turn of pace when making recovery runs, and I love how after winning the ball, his instinct is to always look for a forward pass. I love how he and Bruno passed and moved through Man Uās static midfield yesterday over and over again4 points

I can see the promotional video now: Yasir Al-Rumayyan stands on the roof of the gallowgate with a gay bloke with a sign reading "breaking news" stapled to his back - launches him off into the road below (as the Saudis are absolutely known for, and holds up to total scrutiny). The CSI lot turn up and pick up a rainbow armband with "Jesus ā¤ļø U" written on it. A voice can be heard saying "I think that's mine, mate". Camera pans to Guehi placing it on his arm, wiping the remains of the gay bloke off it and winking to the camera. *Fade to black*4 points

You're gonna have to prepare yourself for this but this actually starts with, and prioritises, praise for the team that won the game, rather than a Man United funeral march. I mean it pretty quickly gets there, but initially it's about us.4 points

Think they're definitely at the stage where they need to stick to a project even if it means a couple of more mid-table finishes. They scrapped the Rangnick one before it even started, Ashworth after a few months. They're lucky enough that they'll always have money and ridiculous commercial revenue so bite the bullet for a bit instead of chasing it.4 points

Love this comment Beat Ispwich, Leicester, 10 man Villa & the worst Man Utd team in 50 years, & they've a got a Spurs team without a fit defender. Jammiest run in PL history City will still finish higher4 points

Also could be a bit of a history rewrite to make him look less of a rat. Especially since it went so deliciously badly for him at Man Utd3 points

Too early for Krafth, according to Howe. He said Botman would be in consideration but he also said he's had a couple of days of illness. I'd be amazed if it's not Kelly. Might not be the worst opponents for it mind.3 points

My brotherās wife is/was season ticket holder at OT. He messaged me yesterday saying ā..thereās always one big club that falls into the relegation zone..ā It pains me to see their own fans acknowledging this, as Iād love it to just creep up on them unawares Theyād be in big trouble if they went down, though.3 points

What, these two? Top chart shows Goals scored, vs xG. Blue shaded area shows we're scoring more goals than you'd expect given the chances. Red area shows we're being profligate, given the chances. Bottom chart shows goals conceded, vs expected goals against. Blue shaded area shows we're conceding fewer goals than you'd expect given the chances. Red area shows we're conceding more than you'd expect. e.g. Brighton at home, you'd have expected us to score twice, and conceded once. But we were wasteful. What these charts answer are the questions; are we consistently wasteful? Are we consistently porous? Is it getting better, or worse?3 points

Aye I'd be amazed if he's happy with his decision to leave Sporting. I agree, he seems a canny bloke. The situation he's got himself into is a fucking mess though.3 points
