  8. Probably do about 40 books a year, but my job is a doss. Most reading is done once the mrs has fell asleep at 9pm, fuck watching the shite on the telly

  9. No you predicted that the club’s communications on this matter were of no real concern and this time for a change you guessed correctly. Me and Wykiki asked relevant questions and it was talked through between us and we came to the same conclusion that you did after you stated that you worked in a bank and how the fuck should you know anything, which is a conclusion many of us had reached some time ago

  11. "Oh hi there, I'm Elon. You might be wondering what I am up to. Well you'd be right to wonder. I am currently in the office of the DoD - no not dungeons and dragons you silly goose - D O D - By the way, did you know I am the greatest D&D player ever, officially too. I definitely didn't pay someone to be the best in my place like I did that other game, which also didn't happen. I digress, I am here searching "gay" in the computer - though, unfortunately all I am seeing are photos of airplanes and not massive willies - so they're being deleted. Obviously. Anyway. I'd best get back to it."

  14. I’ve read two Orlando Figes - Natasha’s Dance - A Cultural History of Russia A People's Tragedy: The Russian Revolution, 1891-1924 (Which was a fucking door stop but brilliant) and The cards of the gambler by Benedict Kiely which was less heavy

  17. So are we all in agreement then? It's not Bunce's fault, it's not Howe's fault, it's not Mitchell's fault, or Botman's. It's just one of those things.

  22. It’s not that I don’t believe what the club or Howe says. It’s that I don’t have the medical knowledge that can get me from “almost ready for the next game, not quite there” to “he’s got fluid on the knee, he needs an op and is out for 8 weeks” Is it a chronic condition? Had the issue been ongoing, was it being managed thoughtout his recuperation from his ACL, if it was that bad why was he almost in contention for a place on the bench v Fulham etc etc?….… anyway, I’ll leave you to your latest book “Lee Harvey Oswald definitely killed JFK by acting alone, the FBI are stand up guys”

  28. Aye as soon as the noshes dry off he'll be fucking crying out for a boring, centrist Brian Badonde impersonator - and I hope we're all in agreement that he can fuck clean off. The only thing worse than being a yank is bucking a yank - the only thing worse than either is having a yank refuse to let you get your hole. Wyki's pal is pond life IMO.

  31. For where we're at you're looking at cast offs from the best sides in that situation. No one is going to send us any promising youngsters knowing that they're not going to get regular time so you're looking at a situation like Villa where they're loaning established players no longer wanted by their sides and those players are few and far between.

  32. I think that was just really a case of knowing it will never get overturned. Where we need to really to cut out the be nice crap is lawyering up and going after the PL once the City cases are done with the related party shite they pulled.

  33. Erm, you're the adult. Do as I say, not as I do, now fuck of you little parasitic shit. 👍 I read 2 or 3 books a year nowadays, on holiday. Don't know how anyone has time to read a book a week like. When do you do it? A couple of other things. I've got a horrible tendency to scan read and then 10 minutes later I realise I haven't really taken anything in and I need to reread the last 2 pages. Think it's because for work I read so many papers I just scan for key facts. Secondly, tbh most books start off well and end shit imo. Rare you get a novel with a great narrative arc. Same is true for TV series I guess.

  34. I won't pretend that it doesn't take me a couple of weeks to get through a book at a time, but I tend to only read for an hour to 90 minutes a day but I get through some. Re-reading Dracula at the minute which is comfortably the greatest horror novel ever written IMO.

  37. It's perfectly possible that he could both be in contention for a place at Fulham and then subsequently succumb to whatever is going on with his knee. Bit of training and it flares up and, actually this might not be what we first thought it was. I don't have a problem with believing that.

  40. Nah, everyone I was mates with over there was an expat. A couple of the Canadian lads still live there - one of them married a Texan lass, but she wasn't daft so I assume she's not pro Trump. Or maybe she is and she's getting ready to march on her husband's homeland. I went to their wedding, and it was a serious money affair. Her parents hired this huge city hall type building in the centre of Houston and I don't know who exactly was there, but there was security all around the block for it - assume it was big oil men and some Texas politicos. Obviously I left as early as I thought could be considered not rude, which was almost certainly earlier than anyone else would have considered not rude.

  41. @spongebob toonpants @PaddockLad @Alex Coming back from a dog walk there, and I've had to do the walk of shame past all the neighbours' houses trying to suppress laughter as Taylor Parkes described a post coital Barry White: "all spaffed out, lying naked and sweaty on his back with his arms spread out, breathing like a racehorse with his slowly detumescing penis lolling over to one side like a boiled leek."
