I'd imagine Eddie is in some level of private care and they may have gone for keeping him in in order to get him right that much quicker. Otherwise you're leaving the self-confessed football obsessive, 12+ hour day working middle aged man to not say "ah yeah I'm alright" and get back to work.2 points

I'd give player of the season to Burn. It's not just his story, work ethic etc either I think he's performed to a very high CB standard. His reading of the game and decision making has been top class and allowed him to overcome his lack of pace. Obviously the form of the players around him has helped, Tonali covering every blade of grass, Hall and Tino having great seasons means you'rea assured of the support around you but he still deserves massive credit for the way he's performed. And don't forget how important scoring that first goal at Wembley was.2 points

Reverse Fixtures of our run in; 3-0 win at home to villa 4-0 win away at ipswich 1-0 loss at home to brighton 2-1 loss away at chelsea 1-0 win at home to arsenal 0-0 away at everton Those two losses came before the change in midfield and when we were in that absolutely dreadful to watch run in Sept/Oct. We are absolutely cruising to this CL spot.1 point

Me either. If they lose to us and then City, it's over for them. Which on some level I'll appreciate because it means Emery won't have outdone Howe.1 point

With the combination of physicality and technique he's been showing he's the leagues next De Bruyne for me.1 point

If we get a draw here and a win v Ipswich I’ll be over the moon.1 point

It’s just a shame it wasn’t sponsored by Disney this year. That would’ve been lovely.1 point

They like to throw around the word 'tinpot' quite a bit going back through the years. I'd love to hear their description for going behind 4-2 against ten men before clawing it back at the death in a poor Europa league and calling it one of the greatest comebacks in European history.1 point

I didn't realise Villa have got us tomorrow and then Man City away on Tuesday. That's some run of games and great that those two are stealing points off one another.1 point

I'd take a draw here although if we play to our ability we beat them. Fitness may decide who gets the points here. Gordon, Willock maybe even Miley off the bench could be important. We drop off considerably when subs come on so you hope those 3 catch a bit of form. I dont have any hope whatsoever left for Wilson and Longstaff, especially not off the bench. Even IF we dont get the points its not the end of the world. Avoid injuries. One game a week after that and with everyone in full flow we'll blow away most teams and have enough for a CL finish,1 point

Hey @t00nraider2, appreciate the support. I understand you won't know a lot about buying and selling quality players from/to Italy, so you won't know about the finances of Italian clubs. Best to leave this to the people that would have a clue.1 point

What about Everton, or have we given up by then and given them an automatic 3 points? Oh and,1 point

I remember a certain poster that, in the season we survived relegation, kept insisting that he couldn't see any way of us getting another point for the rest of the season. Every week, despite all evidence to the contrary. We finished 11th on 49 points. The team in 18th finished on 35 points. You're the boy who pissed wolf.1 point

Enrique was class, super acceleration too so pretty much never got out-paced. He was high level sprinter in his youth. He absolutely took the piss out of attackers in the championship and then carried that belief into the Premier League when we were promoted. He very seldom turned the ball over, even under high presses and had a quality long pass. You're right that he did have a great partnership and understanding with Jonas. He was voted the player of the season in the championship. As a left back that's an incredible achievement. The timing of us selling him seemed ordinary at the time but we absolutely got his best years here as his hamstring/knee issues plagued him through his time at Liverpool. He was class for us.1 point

Aaaaannd our match thread has disappeared. (but they're not bothered or anything. And they don't watch it or owt. And it means nothing. And any wins will have an asterisk next to it or whatever. And they think asterisk is a cartoon about a gaul fighting the Romans).1 point

It's this constant thing of how everyone needs to believe it's the money that transformed everything - I sort of get the mackems doing it tbh, but it's not just them. But the single most significant thing we've addressed since the takeover is putting Eddie Howe in charge of the club. The money helps, but it's not enough on its own. The difference between us and the rest is the manager. One day, maybe they'll see that.1 point

Well, I thought Eddie Howe might be a good coach getting the best out of our players but turns out he's not, it's just they're all dope up. What do I know?1 point

Barnes is arguably the best finisher in the squad, the only question about him was/is his stamina and engine but you can't argue with that part of his game lately so he's obviously working on it.1 point

I can see Chelsea selling Palmer to themselves for $200M tbh. Would sail through PL approvals as well.1 point
