  2. I wish I knew who he played for but that badge just does not translate digitally and I have no way of knowing.

  3. It's been inevitable for a while now - we've got one of the longest standing crests in footballl and brand doesn't stay the same forever. The modern take on the first badge round badge gets my vote:

  6. For real. This is austerity. They're not calling it that, but it's what it is. This was what Labour wanted to do last time around too but lost out to Corbyn - it's why there was such a pushback then. In a way, we need people to be honest with where the country is - but no one can accept this because the honesty is selective. Yes, Labour, you can tell me that the country is fucked and has to do this - and I'll understand - but only if you're also very honest about how much worse Brexit has made this. Because if you're not prepared to do that, then I'm not prepared to accept very much of this at all, since no lessons are being learned.

  8. Saw them complaining about the local news section on BBC Breakfast this morning. Apparently they mentioned Spennymoor Town playing in the FA Trophy final this weekend but failed to mention Sunderland’s playoff match tonight.

  11. Problem with that is they'll soon be getting called insensitive for contacting dead people to ask them about the club crest. They've got to draw the line at people who they know they have up to date information on.

  12. This is where Reagan & Thatcher’s “reforms” have ended up. We’re being hung out to dry by those this pair of cunts sold functioning government out to. Reform are going to have a significant say in our future. That means that process accelerating towards a future unlike those who have gone before us. A good few of us on here are in our 50s. Am willing to bet our retirements won’t be as comfortable as our parents’ are/were. And your kids and grandkids’ standard of living won’t be as high as ours. This is all planned.

  17. Fucking hell. It's only going to get worse on here from now onwards regarding nostalgia. Wykiki: "Eeeh, we played t'Subbuteo when ah were young, none of this t'EA Sports rubbish.... " HMHM "Why aye man, jumpers fro goal posts man down Walker way, climbing up the bombed out houses, Japs and Commandos....." PL "Hoots Mon, Ken that one we played with the sheep? No even allowed nowadays..." Gemmill "Aye, I had Kevin Tom's Football Manager on me speccy, I remember it didn't even have xG stats correct mind......"

  21. Everyone is a career politician these days. They gear themselves up to attain power by demonstrating how bad the incumbent is and once they're in power, the focus shifts to do concentrate on retaining power - not by using their position to enact real, positive change, but to issue diatribes against the alternative. They all do it, as well. Long-term vision appears to be a ideal of the past.

  23. No point in signing DCL. He's 28, he'll command pretty high wages, isn't a reliable goal scorer, and won't be available for half the season. Sooooo similar Callum Wilson then, who has at least been a reliable goal scorer. Delap is younger, plenty physical, looks a real prospect and will at least retain his value better than DCL. Evan Ferguson is an interesting shout, there must be a reason why he's nopt played as much. I'd guess it'll be partly due to injuries and partly due to being Irish and you know what they're like.

  24. As far as I can see there is absolutely zero difference between the economic policies of Labour and the Cameron/Osborne government The only point of difference is Cameron and Osbourne admit Brexit is a disaster

  25. So it feels like Labour are forcing cuts and budget problems through the public sector and letting the chips fall where they will. How many people's lives are getting fucked up by this nonsense man.

  30. In fairness, if he's committed to pretending Brexit isn't a thing then this is all he can actually do. We get shafted by the US because we are a complete irrelevance trading on the last crumbs of our historical prestige. We are spent as a world player and need to either rejoin and contribute to guidance of the EU, creating a more powerful and cohesive international power - or remain isolated and diminish into at best a regional power that is middling top 20 on economy within the next 50 years, with declining living standards and brain drain into the continent. I don't think I'll ever stop being angry about Brexit. I feel humiliated by it.

  33. Had Bristol CITY v Sheffield UNITED for about 20 minutes and it's been pretty instructive listening to the sky commentary team. They can't call them just Bristol or Sheffield as there's other Bristol and Sheffield clubs but they're fucked if they're going to say just 'City' or 'United' only so every time they mention them it's Bristol City or it's Sheffield United. Every time.

  34. This is fucking insane. Fucking bastards coming over here, feeding our kids. Once upon a time you could rely on the Saudis to throw stones at our gays and wimmin and you could respect it. But this!? Makes me sick. Already sent a Wearside Jack style tape to my local MP.

  35. They didn't. It's apparently 'Because the current crest is a raster-based image that doesn’t scale well across different platforms.' (unless someone's having me on?) So the new crest will be a Bob Marley mash up. New run out anthem... 🎵...he was a Gallowgate soldier, Taken from Leazes end, Sent to the Corner, Fighting for survival, Fighting in the resale He was a Gallowgate soldier, Taken from East Stand, Sent into exile Fighting for the survival Fighting in the resale...🎶
