is this another one of your “whisper it but we are still In the title hunt” moments. 😀 Villa have Forest, Luton and Fulham next. We have Arsenal away after Bournemouth. Edit: Having said that our run-in is pretty decent but 10 point gain in 14 games would suggest an epic collapse.

I think every nufc supporter in the world can see these 3 are due upgrades. That’s not my point. They work their balls off for the team and deserve a bit more imo. It’s upto Eddie to decide who play and who should be taken out of the firing line. If he had unlimited funds i’m sure they’d all be upgraded already. -
Three defeats in a row at home for Villa. Lovely to see.

I can’t see us making 10 points on Villa.

Yeah. I’m 50/50 whether a Europa/Conference spot would be good. We should be able to put out B side and see off the poor teams. It would be good for the likes of Anderson/Miley to continue their development in that competition. Howe wanted to play the same XI for both CL and PL which is completely understandable but we won’t necessarily need to do that with a lesser competition. -

I normally stick up for the lads that get targeted every week (Almiron, burn, Ciggy) as they all give 100% and that’s all we can ask as a supporter. There is no reason to ever get on their backs. We all want a team that tries, hey. Having said that Howe has an issue here. The midfield are too weak without Joe/Tonali so that’s leaving Burn to be targeted. I’ll leave it to Eddie to decide the action. If he feels swapping Burn out would help than I’m fine with that. If he wants to spend extra time on the training ground working on the midfield pressing properly. Also fine. -

The only midfielders that are due back are Willock and Anderson. They’ll allow Miley to be taken out the firing line but I don’t think they’ll be able to tighten the midfield up massively. It’s a shame Big Joe isn’t due back anytime soon. -
He’ll only have a year left on his contract so not as much as Brentford hope for. I can see clubs waiting it out as well and get him for free if they play hardball.

I’d be looking to get Barnes, Murphy and Tino pretty sharpish in the second half. Miggy has been anonymous (but could play in midfield 3 if needed. I guess Wilson won’t last 90. -

It’s just an easy ball when they break on us, which has happened 2 or 3 times in the first half. -

Aye. This is a weird set up. Bruno is playing advanced of Miley and trippier is stepping into midfield. having said that, Burn is getting targeted more than ever now and he doesn’t have any answers. His confidence is shot. -

I don’t think he’ll hook him at half time either which is going to be brave or stupid, -

Wonder if he’ll start Barnes. wilson will no doubt be half fit. -

We might as well cash in on Bruno as he’ll never be on the pitch. -
It looks like they are fatigued as well. They’ve never hit any high energy levels since beating Arsenal and Man City. They’ve got Man Utd at weekend as well. I’m not sure I fancy Villa in that at the mo.

The midfield that started v Luton is not even a top half midfield longstaff, Bruno, Miley, Miggy, Murphy. We’ll be fine when players are all back next season, although I’m expecting a lot of ins and outs so who knows what the midfield will look like in the summer. -
isn’t that from Rowdy Roddy piper in They Live ?

This is essentially what I was saying on Sat. If there is no pressure on the ball then burn with lots of space in behind him is a piss easy out ball for the opposition. he is struggling with the midfield in front of him so either we tighten up in the middle of the park or Eddie gives a Tino a go. Preferably both to be honest.

Big Dan Burn enters the chat…. ….then realises he is in the wrong chat. -
he has been targeted before but he normally gets to grips with it. Today he had no answers (and Howe saved him last game by tucking him inside). if you aren’t pressing successfully in midfield then he is the obvious out ball for the opposition. I also think Eddie is sticking with him on the back of last season where we were solid as a rock. A really bad day for him today. It’s now a choice for Eddie.
