If you listen to any ex-footballers candid podcast you will hear that players absolutely do move purely for the money. Everyone will be different, just like real jobs of course. Same applies for the grass-is-always greener theory as well. Isak could move and his form might nosedive or he might hate the manager and his career declines. He is adored here and is paid well. You can’t guarantee that elsewhere.

I think its slightly more understandable last summer because we were screwed by PSR. This summer there has been no excuse and if we've dilly dallied on a bunch of transfers and been left red faced. Under Staveley most transfer plans were kept massively under wraps. There seems to be leaks everywhere since they've left. This maybe just the targets agents leaking it so they get better offers elsewhere of course but it's a massive conicidence.

It was reported that Isak was annoyed by lack of transfer activity (i think by Hope). That could just be lazy journalism again but if it’s not then the club hierarchy need a gigantic kick up the arse.

Just going back to Andy Cole. Keegan authorised that as he wanted an all around better CF (turned out to be Les). I don't think Cole angled for a move. It certainly wasn't made public if he did.

Anyone set their kids uo with a Junior stocks and shares ISA? Ive been looking into it rather than a standard Childs account. I assume the benefit will be SS ISA normally returns better and also it will be tax free (in terms of interest) if over £1000 a year.

At the minute we are not in good shape. A midfielder down. No pacy RCB lined up. Zero accomplished strikers. And thats with the CL which crucified us last time due our intense style of play. Still, I think we'll get the players in but Howe needs to check they are good characters etc so we might have to gamble on some personalities or be left a little bare. The final week of the transfer window will be carnage. I'd also I guess why players like DCL and Wilson aren't rushing into anything, After the deadline passes they'll have the pick of clubs that didn't get their business done.

The timing may have come from our lack of results in the transfer market. We shouldn't be selling him before we have his replacement in the bag. And probably a second striker as well (Wissa) at a minimum. If Liverpool don't want to pay an inflated transfer fee (I say we play hardball) then and a bit of PR and an apology and we'll be okay again.

I don’t think that at all. I expected us to drop a few mega signings during hot Mitch summer and then have a good season in the league and CL…then kick on the following season after having finished in top 4 again. We’ve completely stalled now.

He wouldn’t want away without a club waiting in the wings. I can’t seem him going to Saudi so it’s Liverpool. I’m hoping PSG though. chelsea could be title contenders if they get him though.
