Have never and will never do it. My Dad did it not too long ago and I gave him an absolute bollocking which he didn't appreciate. Fucking justfied though - the idiot.

He connected with one foot. He jumped in with two. The dim view is taken by the fact that there isn't a standing foot as both are of the ground thus increasing the force of the challenge.
-
In that respect do you reckon Gerrard should have stayed on the pitch today?
-
It's got nothing to do with black and white tinted specs. It was a fantastically timed tackle. 2 feet were off the deck - it was reckless. Yet he timed it to perfection. Aye but it's still a red card offence these days. I don't like the rules any more than you lot but i acknowledge that that's the reason he was sent off.

15-20 years ago I'd agree with you. Not these days though sadly.

He lunged in with two feet off the ground. Under the current rulings that's a red card offence. If it had been the other way we'd have been screaming for a red card and rightly so. Shit loads of black and white tinted specs in here like.

Newcastle Appoint Joorabchian As Football Advisor

Sunday People on the wind up IMO. Too much of a coincidence that it's the bloke who owned the players that were brought to West Ham against Pardew's wishes. I bet he's fucking impressed. -
Gemmill's mention of the Karl Henry thing is spot on. So is the mention of De Jong. We all demanded that both should have been sent off and their challenges were on a par with Tiote's yesterday. People claiming he should have stayed on the pitch because those two did quite frankly need to have a word with themselves. Gerrard was sent off today for an almost identical challenge today - don't see many on here complaining about that one. While we're at it, I think Barton was bloody lucky to escape last week. If I had to judge with bias to one side he should have walked too.
-
Now i've seen it again it's even more a clear cut red card. Reckless lunge and both feet were off the ground - applying the letter of today's law it's a certain red, regardless of how many feet made contact. Appeal is in and will be dealt with under the fast-track system so a result will be known before Sunday. It's not inconceivable that the ban will be extended. I'd like it to be overturned but I'm almost certain it'll be upheld.

Initial reports said she'd died from her injuries but they were then retracted. Has undergone surgery and is "fighting for her life". Doctor treating her says he's "very optimistic about her recovery". Fucking hell though

I thought Colo was particularly gash today. On a par with his performances in the relegation season.

Kenny's last game as a manager was at Old Trafford in May and Woody Harrelson was his match-winner.
-
Giving Pardew a bit of slack, what he's seen of Ranger and (in particular) Krul has not been great. Agree with the sentiment that he shouldn't be making that stuff public though.
-
Never mind rescinded, I'd be somewhat surprised if the club actually appealed it.
-
Just read that. Sadly, unless they can identify accurately who it was, the media (and the FA) will automatically assume it's one of ours. Probably claim they nicked a red and white scarf too.

It was stupid. A red card was harsh, but a fraction of second later and the Stevenage player could easily have been looking for a new a career. After the huge fuss that was made about De Jong’s tackle (he got the ball too) on Ben Arfa any complaints about Titoe’s sending off are on weak ground. No doubt the hypocrisy on Nobs Online will be breathtaking. Either you've not played the game OR your talking shit... Im a CM and that there was a legendary tackle...he didnt go over the ball, wasnt two footed nor was it studs up....it looked reckless because the angle he went into the tackle but for the technique of tackling that was 100%. Nothing wrong in it at all. Your opinion is pish. Obviously not a very good one. What position do you play then? Goalkeeper? Seriously fella........that was a good tackle and i dont see how its otherwise. Perhaps at the level of football you play, or fifteen years ago in the professional game. Today though it was the kind of challenge that gives the referee the option of waving red. Personally I preferred the more robust version of the game but nowadays any lunge, no matter how well timed, is a potential red card. It was a stupid challenge; the best CM’s in the family friendly version of football don’t go to ground unless there’s is no other option. They anticipate and think. They weigh up the pros and cons and make intelligent decisions. In this instance they probably would have looked to cover the space the lad was running into, not jump in with all guns blazing. Tiote is a hothead, as his booking per game ratio shows. Good player, but it was only a matter of time before he got sent off. Sadly, you've got that spot on.
-
Can't believe that some of you seriously believe the red card will be over-turned. It was a marginal decision, not a blatently wrong one. It'll stand up and we're now without him for not only the match against the Mackems, but also the home match against Spurs and the away game at Fulham. All crucial games. As for the clever shite who decided to use his fists against the Stevenage player, we (the club) can look forward to some serious action from the FA and rightly so. What an absolute fucking dickhead.
-
Regardless of whether we sneak another or not, we have no Tiote next weekend against the mackems (no way in hell is that ever going to be overturned) and that I'm afraid is going to do serious damage. Stupid, stupid, stupid...
-
Being found out massively. Stevenage have deserved this too.
-
Bagpuss will be in deep shit if they lose against us next week.
-
They're out
-
They've won. Boro out!!! Mackems on the verge.
