The £5315 relates if you are just self employed, as you are employed also then you have to take your main employment into account therefore unless you're a sweatshop worker for Nike, or Deano I wouldnt expect you to be exempt from Class 2 so you're looking at £2.50 per week Class 2 Conts. Basically, as long as you're registered self employed with HMRC then you're fairly covered for the first year, just make sure that you have the money put aside to cover any upcoming tax bill, during that time save every receipt, every electricity bill etc. Its amazing what you can claim as an expense when you start to fill in the self assessment form. Cheers for that, I rang the tax office last night and I'm ok to not pay Class 2 as that's only if I earn £5315 or more from the self employed income... my main PAYE income doesn't effect this apparently which is really good I just have to fill in an exemption form and send it off. My dad was going on about tax exemptions the other week so I need to do what you said and keep all the receipts etc. He said I can claim for things I bought even before I registered as self employed if it relates to the business, so that's something I need to look in to as have spent about £2k on equipment over the last 12 months.

Thanks for the links... I think I need to submit a Class 2 Contributions exemption form to say that I earn less than £5315 from my self employment, but not sure how that works with my main employee earnings in my full time job? Hopefully I can not pay class 2 contributions on the self employed side of things as not really earning enough to justify that... I think they take about £10 a month off you regardless of what you've earned if not! The wording on their forms isn't exactly the easiest thing to understand!

Ok I spoke to Business Link and they weren't very helpful as had already been suggested on here that they wouldn't be Anyway apologies for starting a new thread but I need specific info now on what to do next. I've just filled in a self assessment form on-line to registere as self employed... however I am still working the day job and the photography business is a 2nd income... any idea what I need to do now in order for them to know this? Once I'd completed the form it was kind of like "thanks for that now here's the home screen... if you dont like it fuck off"

Cheers mate, yeah i thought you might prefer those one's lol! Its good that a few different people have picked different favourite one's so hopefully thats a sign of a good collection of images... was my 1st paid gig too so am pleased the results were good. Probs helped that most were taken with my recently purchased 50mm prime as opposed to using the kit lens I've been using before Its a good place is Gibside for photo's am glad I chose that as had a few different ideas but this one seems to have fit the mood of the shoot well I reckon... look forward to seeing your shots from here too. What day were u there?

I haven't posted any images in here for ages, largely due to the fact that by the time i've finished uploading them to Flickr, Facebook, my blog, my website and also another 2 forums I'm on I kind of got sick of seeing them lol... but thought I'd make more of an effort seeing as I've been posting about my photography and website on here. So here's some images that I took at the weekend of a lovely American couple called Erin & Aaron at Gibside in Rowlands Gill to celebrate their engagement.

Thats a nice moody image, captures the derelict industrial vibe well

Yeah definately... I've started giving people 2 versions of some pics, one colour and one black and white because I can't quite decide which is better, and although I prefer one version know others might prefer the opposite. I done just that last week myself Haha yeah it's strange how sometimes it can split opinion so much. I've started asking the wife a lot as sometimes after staring at the image for so long editing and then trying to decide which version I honestly can't tell... kind of like the woods from the trees.

Pretty appalling situation all round there unfortunately... lots of mistakes made and a lack of caring on the schools side. Gotta say all those going on about solicitors etc tho are going WAY overboard! Speak to the head about it, ensure she offers a sincere apology, demand one off the teacher and assurances nothing like that will ever happen again. If you go too far with it the teacher (if they kept their job) will only have a negative attitude towards your kid and that's not going to be healthy for his development in class. Teachers make mistakes, they shouldn't have their lives ruined by an angry parent if they do... they should be strictly told they were in the wrong and it should be made very clear to them that this is completely unacceptable tho. If they hold their hands up and say they were wrong and they are sorry then I think that's enough for now... obviously if anything happened again like it then I'd say it needed to be looked at further. Hopefully the young un will not have any lasting issues relating to this incident and I do honestly feel the school have failed in their duty of care and you have a right to be very angry about it.

Sorry mate but he'll never be as good as Leon Osman... Ossie is a good little player and would walk in to most mid table and below teams, Gosling is a very limited player and I dont know any Everton fans who were upset he left (other than because of the way he did)... In fact most fans were angry Moyes kept playing him over other players who had far more potential. I haven't seen anywhere near enough of him to make that judgement. You might be right, I have no way of knowing having seen next to nothing of him. I've seen other Everton (on Newcastle and Everton forums) fans agree with what you're saying and others disagreeing. I'm not arguing we have a good player or agreeing that we don't. I'm just saying we have to actually see him before making a judgement. Fair do's mate

We had a Groupon so tbh I wasn't all that bothered as cost us next to nowt... under normal circumstances I would have kicked up a proper fuss though.

yeah been there once before and really liked it... there wasn't much on the menu tho which put the missus off going back unfortunately

In fact most fans were angry Moyes kept playing him over other players who had far more potential. Osman is 30.. has been pretty good in his last few seasons (when Arteta has been injured/gone off the boil) but prior to that he had been pretty inconsistent. I'm not saying he'll be as good as or better than Osman but given that Gosling is only 21 it's a bit rich to say that he'll never be as good as an adequate player at the peak of his career. Whatever the case he's pretty far down the pecking order so it will take a pretty big injury crisis for him to see any consistent game time. Only then could we start to form a judgement about him, always remembering that he's only 21 and has just returned from a bad injury. Ture but I think the main problem is that he wasn't very good before a major injury and is more than likely not going to reach his limited potential due to this. I think he's an ok squad filler but I think you have other players that will be way ahead of him and I dont think he'll ever make it at newcastle

Went to Love's Thai with the missus a couple of weeks back and have to say that it was a rubbish experience! Ordered a soup and a main course, the missus ordered spare ribs and a main... about 10 mins later the dishes arrived all together?! i.e. starters AND mains?! We asked the waiter what was going on and why we had received them all at the same time... he just shrugged, said thats how it was and walked off. I ended up wolfing down my soup so the main course wouldn't go cold, which unfortunately made me very full very quickly due to the speed I was eating at, and then the main course whilst ok wasn't anything to write home about. To put things in context we had an hour and a half to kill before going to the cinema and from being seated to finishing our meals (we left about half of our main course as we were too full of wolfing down the starters) took a a grand total of 25 minutes... 25 minutes?!!! I could take longer in KFC! Overall service was shite, it REALLY bright in there and not good for a romantic meal, then again if you're in and out in 25 minutes you can't really have a romantic meal anyway. The wife complained to the waitress who gave us a free drink each but in all honesty the whole experience was farcical. We occasionaly go to a Thai restaurant in Durham called Zen where the food is outstanding... here it was just "ok" and everything else awful. If anyone is thinking of going here then I'd strongly recommend not doing so.
