  1. £70k for Demba Ba. Or if thats not true and its less then what is it? £60k, £50k? for a guy who failed 2 seperate medicals in the last 3 years for the same problem? Yes silly money. Aye but if you want to tell me where you're getting that figure from? A guy called "sheedy" who has contacts at Everton, he's pretty much always spot on with his info. Not your usual run of the mill ITK, if he says something it pretty much always pans out the way he says it will. What else has he got? I'm not trying to say you're talking shite but the notion that Ba is on 70k at a club with a wage cap, a club that won't give Enrique what he wants to stay and has routinely said they're lowering the wage bill is hard to believe. I reckon he'll be on about 40k fwiw. Recent stuff would be that we are interested in N'Zogbia, but can't afford to cough up the £4.5m up front... he said this before the media said it. Also Joey Yobo deal to Fenerbache is supposed to be done, but he's said its not as the club can't agree a fee. They have offered £2m but the deal we had in place was £5m I think (loan with view to buy for that price). The deal still hasn't been confirmed despite both sides seeming to indicate that it has been. Ba stalling on a move to the Toon in the hope Everton would match your wage offered Not earth shattering I know, but this is Everton we are talking about and this is pretty hectic as far as our transfer activity goes lol
  2. Why though? Because you support Newcastle United perhaps? Or do you think next season you'll finish above us, or the season after, or that we'll be relegated... or all of them? Why are the Toon a more attractive proposition if the same wages were put on the table? i think we're just a more glamorous club. we get way more coverage than you lot in the papers (not always good publicity admittedly), we seem to be on telly more than your lot. i'm not just saying that because i'm a fan. i reckon we've much bigger potential than you lot. we have the facilities, the stadium in place, the bigger fan base and with the right owner, i think we could go further. that's not to say that with a bit of investment you couldn't have that too - a rich owner could come in, build a new stadium and splash the cash on transfers and wages. but as things stand, i can see why a lot of players pick us over you. and it's not because we offer massive wages because we don't anymore. tbf fair to moyes, he's done a fantastic job with your lot with limited resources but he's done it by playing pretty horrible football. the last time everton were a truly exciting team was int he 80s. a side i grew up with and loved (i have family that are evertonians), but it's been pretty bleak for you lot since then. we've been up and down more since in that time but when we've been up, we've been much closer than any everton side has been since the great howard kendel side. Toon have great potential, but you dont have the right owner. In fact he hasn't done anything to help boost your "glamour" at all I would say. I guess you are saying we are an "unfashionable" club, but several european places and an FA Cup final recently would still see us viewed as a good team and one that is closer to the "elite" than the toon. So it depends on what you want as a player? A "glamorous" team who bounce up and down the league (and out of it), who lurch from one PR disaster to the next, or a steady team who will always be close to the eufa cup slots? Or money? I think in about 90% of cases it'll be money
  3. He was apprently on £50k a week at West Ham, and i'm under the impression we were pretty close to this with our offer.
  4. So how much do you think he'll be on then? I've only asked this question about 3 times now with no response

  6. £70k for Demba Ba. Or if thats not true and its less then what is it? £60k, £50k? for a guy who failed 2 seperate medicals in the last 3 years for the same problem? Yes silly money. So Demba Ba will be our highest paid player? You seem pretty wound up about not getting him tbh. As stated I am glad we didnt get him as think we dodged a bullet. Already stated I think its a huge risk to sign someone who has failed 2 different medicals recently for big wages. What annoys me is that you lot can't seem to get your head around any possibility other than that the moment he knew the toon were in for him he dropped his kecks and bent over for old rapey to finger him. I have info from a very good and well respected ITK who has stated Ba said he'd join us should we match your wage offer... you dont want to believe that, fine, but please quote me something that states this is incorrect. Its not as Black and White as you lot seem to think... if both clubs bid the exact same for a player its not 100% that they would always pick you... surely you can acknowledge that is correct? If so then maybe, just maybe some people on here need to get off their high horse about it being a no brainer between the mighty Toon and shitty little Everton?
  7. No not really... if it were Spurs or Man City than maybe, but the only thing you have to offer over us is a bigger shiny stadium and silly wages. The rest is pretty much the same apart from you conistently finishing well below us year in, year out. You really are fucking clueless. Wages. See once you've spoken to one Everton fan you've spoken to them all. Please can you construct sentences so that they make sense?

  10. Aye but in all fairness Liverpool is a great city too, and although our ground is somewhat erm "retro" we have a great training ground and have consistently finished high up the table for many seasons.... so they can also be considered a pull for a player. However like most footballers money talks, and you will probably always offer more wages, which is the reason in my opinion that a player might choose you or us
  11. Why though? Because you support Newcastle United perhaps? Or do you think next season you'll finish above us, or the season after, or that we'll be relegated... or all of them? Why are the Toon a more attractive proposition if the same wages were put on the table?
  12. Depends on how you look at it really... Toon: Won the top division 4 times, the last being in 1927 Won the FA Cup 6 times, the last being in 1955 Won the Uefa Fairs Cup in 1969 Total major trophies - 11 Everton: Won the top division 9 times, the last being 1987 but the titles stretch back through most decades Won the FA Cup 5 times, the last being in 1995 Won the Cup Winners Cup in 1985 Total major trophies - 15 So yes we've only won 4 more, but come on the last time you won the league was in 1927 when all the teams were in black and white lol! Your success post war is pathetic!!! At least we've acheived something in the (relative) modern era... most people dont even know the Toon have won anything ever! So hows that a high status? Newcastle are the biggest under achievers in Europe? HAHA as if thats a tag to be proud of? am sure there are other teams who deserve that tag more anyway... just because you have a good stadium and are a single city team means fuck all! But as always the Toon faithful think they are bigger than they are! At least I can happily say my club is in need of an overhaul, and that we can't win the league even in our wildest dreams... some of you lot think you're fuckin Barcelona It was great when you got relegated because suddenly you realised that you were just another club, who didnt deserve anything just because you have a shiny stadium... shame as soon as you got promoted you reverted back to type, although it was rather satisfying to watch you limp over the last month or so of the season, after people on here were telling me you's would finsih above us, oh well there's always next season eh? I dont have anything against Newcastle United, in fact i've always wanted them to do well, but its the arrogance of some supporters that annoys me beyond belief. You are not a "big" club, you are no more bigger than Everton, Spurs, Villa and many other clubs... lets just wait to see where the Toon finish over the next couple of seasons before we go making any bold statements about anyone being a Mickey Mouse club eh? With your lot in charge and the way your club lurches from one fuck up to the other I dont know how you can even dare utter that phrase lol! I could give you a relatively articulate response to this but I can't be arsed. Should've left this forum in March to be honest. Sort your quoting skills out mate anyway. Haha it had too many quotes to post so I just removed some of it... I apologise for not meeting the required expectations
  13. Maybe mickey mouse is harsh, truth is I just don't like them. Anyway Ba is at the training ground right now he's got some dig on him this kid like, really pleased with it, we're getting a £10m striker for nothing. Erm dont go changing your mind half way through me writing an essay based purely on that one point you made!
  14. I doubt Emre had even heard of Everton to be honest. When Emre signed, we were in Europe Everton weren't we'd been a club who played in european semi's, quarters, Champions League's recent Cup Finals. He would've saw a world class stadium with 52,000 people every week, European football, one of THE richest and biggest financially speaking clubs in Europe, and you expect him to choose a relic of a club in a dilapidated old 40,000 stadium which is full twice a season, with a minimal transfer budget over us?¬?!?!? They are just stating facts. As for our league finishes you live in Ryton so I'm sure you're fully aware of our recent past. You mention all it's trophies being sarcastic, the major thing about Everton is people say mickey mouse club, but a very historic successful one all the same. Yet Newcastle have a nearly bare trophy cabinet and are the biggest underachievers in Europe. Tell me Andy, how many more trophies do you have than us? FOUR. Fucking Four. Barcelona won four this year. FOUR trophies and that is the only single thing you have over us and it's minimal. 15. The things people believe to make themselves feel better. To be fair they're all consoling themselves on their website that we've offered him 70k a week so it's not just Andy who is deluded, they can't comprehend why anyone would choose us over them on a level playing field. It's more delusional than Hitler Youth, but they all believe it, Everton historically are footballs biggest over achievers, in modern times I can't see what is more attractive about them than say Fulham or Sunderland, although those two clubs actually have money to spend whereas Everton don't. They'll end up with Bothroyd which is his and their level in my view. "footballs biggest over achievers" Bold statement... care to back it up?
  16. Looks like you offered him 70k a week, he came back to us and said if we matched it he'd sign for us, we told him to do one, and he's now signed / signing for you. But yeah what you said is the same eh? What an absolute doilum. Incredible really. Honest question why would you sign for Everton over Newcastle, like try and be impartial. Players love to be noticed and Everton just aren't, Newcastle's infrastructure is far far farrrrrrrr better, than fanbase is incomparable, and Everton are absolutely fucking skint. Why would you sign for Everton over Newcastle, it's beyond delusional or any rational comprehension. Yawn! This whole "my dad's bigger than your dad" argument that always gets banded about when someone is in enemy territory (its the same if one of your lot came over to our site tho in all fairness). Newcastle finished in what position last season? It was below Everton thats for sure, and as for the season before that, and the one before that... what about the one before that, and the one before that, and then just keep following that pattern for about 12 years or so. Why would anyone choose Everton over Newcastle? Could ask Baines I suppose, didnt he sign for us over you? Mind you players have signed for you's over us admittedly, I wonder what Emre's doing these days? So how much do you think you's are paying Ba then? £10k a week? £30k? £50k? I'm sure someone on here will be ITK, until then we can go with my ITK who has got MANY things right before. Just passing on info at the end of the day. Agree with it or not, its up to you, but where are you getting your info from? Your head? At least i have a source, regardless of whether you wish to believe it or not. Meh like I said its the enemy on your territory syndrome, but i'll indulge you seeing as I know you'll be disappointed if I dont, so feel free to flex your muscles and show me just how great your club is with all its trophies and high placed premier league finishes, your excellent players (oh oops sorry forget you were flogging them both lol!), your wonderful manager, and un realistic expectations (how you's haven't learnt by now i'll never know!)... at least you have a nice stadium tho eh? <awaits abuse>
  17. The things people believe to make themselves feel better. Doesn't make me feel any better or worse, I never wanted us to sign him... he failed his Stoke medical, and one a couple of seasons back in France due to his polystyrene knees. We already have Saha, and to have another potential crock on big wages doesn't really cut it for me. Reminds me of Mikel Forsell failing our medical, Brum took a gamble on him and he was a total flop... Ba has the same risks associated. That is the perfect way of showing the denial of a fan when losing out on a target! I bet when you sell baines you will claim he was shit last year and all Erm nope i've said the same thing on the Everton forum when we were first linked. Baines is pure class, why would I state he was shite? I'd happily say any Everton player over Baines. I didnt want us to sign Ba, and I dont want us to sign Bothroyd or Shane Long. I'd much rather we sold one of our higher earners i.e. Arteta or Fellaini (although i'd be gutted to see him leave, but we need a striker more) and bring in someone decent who's knee wont drop off at some point in the near future

  20. I can't win lol! I posted that because someone told me to complain
  21. Fuck me mate, e mailing the venue cos they gave you a bit of stick!? Could you not just give some back? Haha I did and got sent off Thats why I put a complaint in as I dont wanna get a lenghty ban for something that wasn't really my fault... Well it was my fault as I shouldnt have reacted, but I was serverly provoked.
  22. Haha thats the same for me too... I'm not even a geordie but apparently after a few beers and watching footy I become very much broad geordie lol! The rest of the time i'm well spoken County Durham with an occasional Yorkshire twang.
  23. Ok so I just e-mailed the venue with the following (not sure how serious they'll take it seeing as I was the one sent off for violent conduct): We played a team last night in our division 3 match and would like to put in a complaint about their behaviour. On several occasions one of their players punched on of our team in the back (off the ball) when the referee wasn’t looking, he also elbowed another member of our team in the back (off the ball) when the referee was again looking elsewhere. These incidents were deliberate acts of violence. They also spent the majority of the game making no attempt to play the ball when going in for tackles. This culminated in 2 of them diving in from either side of one of our players with no intention other than to injure him. Their behaviour was not what I would expect from a team playing in a 5-a-side league at your establishment, and I’m sure that you would agree punching/elbowing people off the ball, and trying to deliberately injure someone isn’t acceptable in the slightest! Unfortunately the referee missed the off the ball incidents and therefore was unable to act upon them. I ask that you inform referees to be aware of this team’s behaviour so that other teams are not subjected to this and referees can stop incidents like this escalating and turning matches in to a complete farce (as was the case last night) This team had no intention of playing the game, and I am certain you will have further problems with their behaviour in the future. I have spoken to my team and they have all agreed that if we face this team again and they demonstrate the same behaviour we will withdraw from the league.
  24. I doubt the 5-a-side league has any afiliation with the FA, so it won't affect Sunday or Saturday football. The 5 a-side league I ref in would ban you from future games though. As for the second half of that sentence it's amazing how many times you hear that - "I'm ganna lamp him and it'll be your fault" - which is just utter bollocks. I'm afraid you've got to take responsibility for your own actions. No denying I shouldn't have kicked out, but at the end of the day this had been going on all game. If the ref doesn't deal with it then eventually its going to boil over and something will happen. I wasn't looking for a fight, I was trying to get on with the game, and what I did was in a mad moment of retaliation. I'm not gonna have some divvy punching me in the back and then trying to break my leg without eventually reacting. Aye I dont play Saturday or Sunday footy so its a ban from the 5-a-side that i'm worried about, how long do you think i'll get if I do get one? Depends how on the ball the league are. Our lot would probably ban you for a couple of games. What I would do though is complain about the other team, see if they are causing other teams problems. Threaten to leave if necessary, invariably teams like that get kicked out of the leagues I ref at. It doesn't sound like the ref you've got is particularly strong, but it is difficult especially when players are deliberately kicking off behind their backs. No ref in their right mind would take action on something they haven't seen. Aye I could handle a couple of games ban, I shouldn't have kicked out and so would accept that punishment... anymore and i'd be pretty pissed off tho. No the ref isn't strong at all, he sits on the boards looking disinterested half the time, and if he'd had a better grip on the match I dont think as much stuff would have been going on off the ball. Good idea to complain about the other team, i'll do that as I didnt get the impression this was just them having a bad day, it's clear they behave like this all the time!
