If you spend £35m next season you'll have a better team? Well yeah obviously unless you spunked it all on shite lol! If we spent £300 billion we'd probs have a better team than Man U... but doesn't mean its going to happen. I have no problem admitting you have a higher turn over or better ground, your ground is fantastic in my opinion. Only a small few want Moyes out, thats not a particularly accurate point... same with any club really, can't have everyone happy all at the same time I disagree with a lot of your thoughts, but I like the fact you dont care if you're wrong or right so i'll not argue them

Its all subjective though based on who you watch on a regular basis. Baines this season has been immense and brings so much to our team in an attacking sense: "So far this season he has assisted 11 Premier League goals and only Nani (18) has more. As for defenders there is no contest. He has seven more than closest rivals Iain Evatt and Branislav Ivanovic, who both have four. Perhaps a better insight comes when you compare the 26-year-old to the players perceived to be the division’s best in his position. In the time it has taken Baines to create 27 assists, Ashley Cole and Patrice Evra lag behind on 11 apiece. Indeed, the Everton man’s tally over that period can only be bettered by four men in England’s top flight – Cesc Fabregas, Frank Lampard, Ashley Young and Nani. Concentrating just on this season again, Baines’ 11 assists gives him the fifth best tally across all of Europe’s top divisions. Nani (18), Lionel Messi (17), Dani Alves (14) and Cagliari’s Andrea Cossu (12) are the only players to have created more." I gotta be honest and say I can't think of anyone I'd want to swap Baines with at this moment in time.

Well we usually stuff Man City so thats not a fixture i'm concerned by, but yeah the other 2 will be tricky to say the least. Look i'm not trying to say Everton are the greatest team ever, i've already stated that we have underchieved this season, and i've said the Toon have done well. But its about setting realistic expectations. Finishing 7th just isn't particularly realistic, neither is continually expecting moyes to perform miracles on fuck all budget, but then i'm not saying he can. I wouldn't say Everton should be aiming to finish in the top 4 because its not a realistic expectation, and neither is Newcastle United finishing top 7 next year. Top 12? Now there's something thats achievable, maybe even top 10 if someone wanted to be ambitious, but I just don't get the thinking behind "buy one or two players and we'll be better than Everton, Villa, Bolton etc etc" because it's just not true, and pretty disrespectful to those other teams, who have built up their squads over several seasons and have earned the right to be considered amongst the top 8 or 9 teams in the league. We've built our squad up over several seasons too, its took dropping a league to reset the balance and to knit the squad together, also for some players to settle and come good. We WILL finish above your lot next season. Dropping a league to help knit a squad together is certainly an interesting way of doing things! Some would argue that if a squad was so good it woulnd't need knitting together and wouldn't need relegation to "reset" the balance.

Oh dear how unbelievable embarrasing for you! Baines - scored 4 goals and created 11 Enrique? - Over to you! If I wanted to sound smart i'd use a much more complex saying than "walk before you can run" which lets face it isn't the most mind blowing of sayings

There you go then. With a fully fit Ben Arfa and a few quality additions we will be better than villa, everton, sunderland and alike. Haha I'm presuming you mean if you bought Messi, Villa and Ronaldo? Sorry but Newcastle are a long way behind the quality of 1st team player that Everton are. We are also an established club who consitantly finishes in the top 5-8 places in the league, with an excellent manager and stability at the club. This is the same argument I had with my Toon supporting mate at the start of the season, and as a result of over ambitious expectations he's going to owe me £30 and his mate £10 once the last ball of the season is kicked. I dont have anything against the Toon, but for fucks sake learn to walk before you run! It takes a team several years to establish / re-establish itself in the top division... finishing 7th is a ridiculously high expectation and completely unrealistic, when even established teams such as Villa (who have a far better squad) have struggled this year. Everton Bolton Villa These are the teams that will be competing for 7th, 8th and 9th next season... I really can't see the Toon being in that bracket no matter who they sign. Top 12 maybe a realistic ambition (although with old rapey in charge I wouldn't be so sure), but top 7? Twaddle. Utter shite of the highest order. Explain why it takes years for clubs to establish themselves in the top flight? What are the factors at play? Is it because the squad in the championship is on average worth around 5-10m at most and that the revenue streams are so vastly different that immediately adjusting the wages from that level to around 50m after many seasons in the championship is risky from both a footballing and financial perspective? Yes. Which doesnt apply in even the remotest sense to Newcastle. Our wages were 5 or 6 times the level of every other championship club. Thanks to an injection of capital the club was run with higher revenues and higher wages than even some premiership clubs. Telling us to walk before we run is just trotting out some phrase you have heard which kind of makes sense to you without even having the first clue about what it actually means and why. The only limitation in our expectation at the start of the season was in the quality of the players and whether they had the talent to justify their wages. They have done quite well considering but given what they earn compared to other premiership players, any manager/fan/owner should expect the performances they have got. As for your statement about the distance between the first teams, we played you off the park at your place and had a shit day at our place but were always in the game because you didnt have the quality to take a commanding lead. Sounds like two teams at roughly the same level to me. The difference between us is that our revenues are higher, we have around 40m in the bank and we have Ben Arfa and Tiote who are far better than anything you have. Haha I love the picture I have in my mind of your bright red face, vein throbing from forehead when you wrote that reply! GRRRRR!!!! Lol! "Explain why it takes years for clubs to establish themselves in the top flight" - quality of players in your team, the difference in quality of the opposition are just two major factors "Our wages were 5 or 6 times the level of every other championship club" - wages prove nothing, if they did Owen would have been a wonderful signing. "Telling us to walk before we run is just trotting out some phrase you have heard" - who hasn't heard that saying? Obviously i've heard it lol! Such a strange argument! "They have done quite well considering but given what they earn compared to other premiership players" - Yep no denying they have performed well this season, again wages play no factor in this though. "we played you off the park at your place and had a shit day at our place but were always in the game because you didnt have the quality to take a commanding lead. Sounds like two teams at roughly the same level to me." - Can't base anything on 2 games... season is a marathon not a sprint... try looking at things overall for a better analysis... i.e. we've underachieved and you've over achieved, and we're still something like 6 points ahead of you. Although saying that you's have done well to be within 6 points of the 7th placed team in the league "The difference between us is that our revenues are higher, we have around 40m in the bank and we have Ben Arfa and Tiote who are far better than anything you have" - Thats the only difference? Really?!! How many games as Ben Arfa played for you so that you can make the decision that he's "better than anything" Everton have got? Sorry but your arguments are basically all bollocks. I appreciate the time yout ook to compose a repsonse and join in the debate though... better luck next time

No team that plays Shola Ameobi as their main striker will ever finish in the top 7 of the premier league

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
ajax_andy replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
Being an non Magpie on here I can honestly say that old rapey has done a lot better then I had expected... however with Pardew he's the type of manager that will always fuck it up at some point. I think once he's allowed to bring in his own players and make a real mess of it then that's when we'll see all the toon faithful's worries come to fruition. With Houghton he was building something, I really admired the way he fostered a great team spirit and seemed to have the players all giving 100% for him at all times. Pardew whilst he has had his moments in managment of looking like he might actually be doing something decent, has always without fail messed it all up. I think the main part of that is that he's a bit of a smug cunt, and if things are going well people will play for him and give their all... but once things start going wrong and the players dont like him, then thats when the wheels majorly come off. Fair play to him he's done decent enough so far, but i'd be surprised if he helps the club progress in the way that it should. Saying that though I hope i'm wrong despite being a non magpie. The supporters deserve some stability and to re-establish themselves as a premier league fixture... its just a shame Houghton wasn't allowed to continue the job as I think that's where the club had the best chance of doing good things.- 10610 replies

When Harry met Barry - Harry Redknapp and Barry Chuckle car pool for a cross-country drive. The film raises the question "Can you ever be just friends with a chuckle brother?" or will you ultimately always end up bent over the bonnet being the meat in a chuckle brother sex sandwich, with your cries being unheard over the sounds of "from me to you, from me to you"?

Lace Off - Whilst John Travolta is in a coma Nicholas Cage steals his shoe laces, however Travolta awakens from said coma and proceeds to steal Cage's shoe laces in return. he then goes on to convince everyone that these are indeed his shoe laces, leaving Cage with the formidable task of exposing the true origins of the laces in question.

A census doesn't confer religious status on any movement. It only recognises Jedi as an answer given by a significant percentage.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jedi_census_p...gland_and_Wales I hate to mention the M word, but it's also quite funny there's only about 4 times as many muslims as there are Jedi's in the country. Puts the scare stories about muslims taking over into context tbh. Exactly! And how many of those are actually terrorists? Even if a massively ambitious guess of a quarter of them actually were extremists, that would mean there would be exactly the same amount of terrorists as Jedi's. Now in a one to one battle between Jedi's & Terrorists there's only going to be one winner. So everyone relax as we're in safe hands

Was wondering if anyone has used any dog kennels around the Newcastle/Gateshead/Prudhoe areas and can recommend one? Dont want a horrible place, but equally on a tight budget, so cheap but nice would be great (if there is such a thing?)
