At least Keegans approach has shown us exactly where we stand Yup, but I reckon Shearer could have made a change without walking. I don't think he would've tolerated any interference from the beginning, unlike Keegan who I think took a 'wait and see' approach.
-
As much as I don't think Shearer is right for the role I've no doubt that he would've taken a different approach to the situation than Keegan, and possibly a better one.

Keane got a £150k fine, not sure about the others.

FFS. Could have been worse I suppose.

The odds on Didier Deschamps have pretty much halved since this morning, though obviously that just reflects the money being wagered rather than any concrete info.

Is no-one else considering Keegan might be to blame?

Actually I think it was pressure from the EU that led to the transfer window, though I think it was only supposed to apply to international transfers. I'm not 100% sure of the details. -
Yet they went to the trouble to blur it in the video.

Since Keegan first time round we've only had one manager who has completed more than one full season in charge.

If he was being undermined behind the scenes then he had no option but to go imo. Yes what was on the pitch mightn't have been too bad but to take orders off the pitch from that cockney short-arse would be too much for any self-respecting man. -

Anyone willing to buy him out would be welcome. So the problem is not so much the money and the business, just that Mike Ashley wouldn't suck the cock of everyones favourite manager. Are you just being contrary for the sake of it btw? I thought it was contrary to complain about the money men ruining football, then hope for another money man to save our skin. I am still coming to terms with my mixed emotions on the matter though. If you can't beat 'em...

That's yet another unbelievable move for me, to appoint the person who the manager is supposed to be working the most closely with without their approval or even consultation is staggering, especially when that man is Denis Wise. I did think it at the time but chose to ignore out in the belief that everything would work out ok. -
The worst of it is that that is how he writes all the time.

After the news settled in on Tuesday I started to think with my head a bit more than my heart. Tried to take the owners/middle management view... And after being gutted all over again tonight I can still see that line of thought. They can't comprehend Keegan's connection with the club. Our recent history is the likes of Allardyce and Souness bringing in their expensive flops which have had to be replaced season after season as the manager walks off with a payout. A long term vision minimises that risk. I can't comprehend them not keeping it as a mutual agreement approach though. Why did it work well for 3 months of the window only to fall apart so miserably on the very last day? They had to have taken the piss, big style. They led him a merry dance 'til the end of the transfer window, thinking that there was fuck all he could do about it afterwards and it has blown up in their faces. Well that's one theory anyway.

When he told them to take care of the club while he was gone I don't think he intended them to force the manager out. This has come from the very top, make no mistake. That letter didnt come from ashley. Given the gravitas of the situation I'm sure it went for his approval before being given to Keegan. Mike Ashley is a man who I imagine doesn't like to be backed into a corner and won't have taken kindly to Keegan's demands. I'm nearly sure that he was give Llabia his instructions from afar.

Who is the muppet presenting on Talksport at the minute? He didn't even know what type of business Ashley was in, yet he feels qualified to speak on the situation?
-
Actually, would it be overly cynical of me to suggest that Ashley has deliberately been out of the country to distance himself from this almighty fall out?
-
You talk it over, reach an agreement and then put it in writing. To put it in a letter is as good as daring him to resign. I'm fucking disgusted.

I thought that given the public reaction to Wise's name that he'd never get a chance but after seeing them completely ignore our feelings and let Keegan go nothing would surprise me.
