Clearly the main criteria used in our search for a manager was "Is he mates with Wise?". FFS.
-
If that's true then it would be the biggest joke of all..... It's easy to promise these things when you think you're not going to be there in January.
-
It actually can't see the problem in trying to get some short-term solution. I do find it rather sensible tbh. Especially as they could take the approach of not caring, because if they are going to sell soon they wouldn't need to bother if and how much the new owner had to pay to get rid of the manager... Well giving him a contract to the end of the season would have still been a short-term solution, offering a game by game contract is an insult to any self-respecting manager.
-
Exactly, plus they're not even gonna be around to pay him off. Twats.
-
They wanted to appoint him on a game by game basis. They really have no clue whatsoever do they? He would have accepted a contract to the end of the season imo so if a new owner had've came in and wanted rid then they wouldn't even have been faced with paying a shedload of compensation. What a fucking joke.
-
I dunno, if he goes down for it then it may take a turn for the better, albeit in a role reversal.

I don't care how SFW you say it is, I'm not clicking that link.
-
I'd guess that you heard it a lot growing up.

Fuck why wouldn't we want Yakubu here? At least he's scoring goals! He's nee Shola though Oh shit, given Shola's Nigerian roots they could well offer him a 5 year deal to keep him at the club.
-
That makes a bit more sense.

Im all for steadying the ship as such but throwing a contract at a bad manager for the sake of it is silly wouldnt you say? Here's my take on it. A managerless club is a club in crisis. Nobody knows who's in charge. Nobody will want to buy a club in crisis, and the players and fans will rapidly lose confidence just as we are doing now. By having a manager, we at least give the appearance of functioning as a normal club should. And you have to ask one question of any potential appointment: can he make the situation any worse? I don't think Zico can, myself. It's a catch 22 situation, it's likely that no manager will touch us until we have a new owner in and at the same time a rudderless ship isn't attractive to potential buyers.
-
Why exactly would the Spurs game have any effect on who we appoint?
-
Oh no you di'int.
-
Well we've all had that fantasy at one time or another.
-
What do you mean by the 'arse dropping out of football'?
-
In retrospect I agree, but the previous incumbent didn't know enough about business imo. What we need is either a happy medium or someone with enough money to not to need to worry about the business side of the club.
-
If they had've waited around and got everyone involved then there would have been a whole lot more procrastinating, it's best that they've gone ahead the way they've done then when the dust has settled and things are a bit more organised others can get involved should they wish.

Might be an idea to get a shorter or simpler url for the website as well. Can I suggest www.fuckoffashley.com -
Harsh considering the golfers we've produced. Churchill was correct and last time I looked he was one of your lot. Churchill was Irish?

Your country of birth renders your opinion worthless.

The fans would never be able to raise the money to actually buy the club, never mind provide the sort of investment we would need to really compete.
