  1. I agree, as long as the players they have brought in have been with Keegan's agreement rather than over his head.
  2. Source? If they did sack Wise though on what grounds would it be? You can't just dismiss people on a whim without some come back from the person getting the boot. The only thing I can think of would be a redundency, that might work if his job no longer existed. A management re-structure which will offer Wise a position on the coaching staff and offer Jiminez and Vetere scouting roles. Of course, if they don't want to accept these new roles... Can you imagine Keegan's face if he Wise did accept that offer?
  3. But Wise has been offered the manager's job... Stevie said so!
  4. Thank fuck it's happened on an international week so they've had time to talk it out rather than make rash decisions because we had a game coming up.
  5. I would've thought he had more to worry about with the transfer window closing than Big Brother.
  6. It's not contrary at all, we don't have to agree with all of Keegan's decisions but we do agree that it should be him who takes those decisions and not the chairman or some jumped up scout.
  7. It'll never happen thanks to our friends at the EU.
  8. Christ almighty, that's two days in a row where the Daily Mail have had a semi-accurate football story.
  9. Won't import my bookmarks from Opera. Aside from that it seems ok, nothing earth shattering.
  10. We thought that with Shepherd too, be careful what you wish for.
  11. Bollocks, in many businesses there are internal struggles, however, in this case it's the support of the fans needed rather than shareholders and I think it's fairly clear who has that support. If he does come back then who will be waiting on him to flounce? The media? They're already constantly saying how we're a mess. As someone else pointed out earlier, this is a clear sign to the players that the manager is willing to stand up for them no matter what he is being told by those above him and that's something they will appreciate.
  12. I can. I said it when he came back but Ashley made a personal mistake in picking Keegan as he's one of the few people he couldn't sack from the job and this has put Keegan in a very strong position to demand that things be done his way. Ashley may as well sell the club tomorrow if Keegan does go and puts the blame at the owner's feet.
  13. I don't think there'd be too many tears shed. If it did happen it'd be a clear indication that Ashley is making concessions to Keegan.
  14. I'd imagine Keegan was told that we were still chasing players on his list which he then found out not to be true, this coupled with the fact that it appears they tried to sell players behind his back must have been too much. If he had've walked after the Modric deal fell through then I would've been even more disappointed that he didn't at least try to make a proper go of it. Which leads me to think he's hung around for personal/financial reasons. His head has been able to rule his heart...until this week. When has Keegan ever tried to make a go of it without things being set up exactly as he wanted? Once, for England, and look where that got him. I really don't think he wanted to be remembered as the man who walked out on Newcastle twice, especially so soon after his grand return. I reckon he thought he'd wait and see how the transfer window panned out and it was only Monday when all the shit really came to light. Of course you may be right and he may be in the shit financially but other than a bit of media speculation I've no idea whether that's true.

  16. My completely uninformed guess of what is happening at the minute is that Keegan is trying to put together a case for constructive dismissal to avoid paying the reported £1m and to get a few quid for himself. However, I can't see that working as the system of selling players behind the manager's back isn't unheard of. I've really got no idea of how this will play out.
  17. You do realise that Dick... oh why do I even bother?
  18. If anyone has been humiliated it's Ashley who appears to have had to make a massive u-turn and grovel to get Keegan to stay.
  19. Couldn't agree more. Why are we putting up with this squeaky voiced cockney fucknut shouting the odds on here? Well we can't just ban people as and when they give their opinion. You have the power. He's not on the wind up though is he? Of course he is, he always is. He's just being slightly more discrete about it this time. He contributes nothing of use to the forum.

  21. Apparently Marco van Basten has spent all day there chairing the crisis talks and has said he's prepared to stay as long as it takes to get the problem sorted. Top bloke.
