  1. Aye, I had a lot of respect for Rafa from his Liverpool days. With the likes of Garcia, Gerrard and Alonso standing out in my mind. Also got more out of plenty of mediocre players to show his quality. Still, never going to be Barcelona.
  2. Agree on all three of these. They look a cut above the rest of them on the field. Swansea robbed there too. Deserved the win and should have had a penalty. Quite happy to see Boro down also because they add nothing to the Premiership. City leading at Arsenal already. Couldn't happen to better fans.
  3. Chelsea whose recent rise to prominence was largely achieved through pragmatic and not-so-attractive football? That would never do.
  4. Struggled less than any side in the division. Most goals scored; least goals conceded. With, as you've made very clear. a far-from-great side. So why do you doubt him again? There are two teams on the pitch every week. How many teams do you think don't have nail-biters most weeks? You're basically implying every game should be won by 2 clear goals, and early in the match at that.
  5. Has this been posted yet? https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/03/sebastian-gorka-white-house-vetting-fail/519843/ TLDR: Top Trump Advisor appears to have strong ties to Neo-Nazi group.
  6. Can't tell from this distance if those are cans of worms or cans of Pimms.
  7. I am enjoying it, I'm just empathising with the bed-wetters. It's hard to come through the absolute shitshow of the last decade or so without a tainted view of reality. Not even getting into what @@Noelie (and others) have had to endure.
  8. No one could account for neither Perez nor Diamé producing nothing this season. Effectively leaving Rafa without a #10 for the whole season. If either of them had performed to the expected level, it would have been a lot more comfortable/enjoyable to watch.
  9. Agree with 95% of that (would have Yedlin over Simpson). I can understand the pessimism though. It's bred into us at this point. What if Wigan and Huddersfield won today? What if Rafa is still selecting the triumvirate of evil next season? What if Ashley fucks Rafa over in the summer? All of these things are far too likely through black & white tinted shades.
  10. Aye, plenty of time for pissing and moaning next season. With Nigel Pearson managing and Lee Charnley coaching.
  11. It's worth remembering that the team that went down were no better than Villa and worse set up than Norwich. Granted, Rafa had decent money (by Championship standards) to invest, but he's done a great job. As @@Howay says, people seem to expect it to be 3/4-0 every week playing like Barcelona.
  12. @@Noelie, if you have a look back through the thread, you'll see a couple of us discussing the reality of the squad depth wrt who could play today. Rafa needs to be given serious funds in the summer, but he's still far above anyone else likely to be attracted to Newcastle.
  13. Effectively 11 points. So they need to win 4 games more in their last 8 games. Job done?
  14. Fuck off Colback. Might as well be playing in Wigan's kit.
  15. Brighton and Huddersfield both drawing 0-0.
  16. Just noticed four of the last six matches after Burton are live on Sky, so we won't have to put up with this shite much longer.
