This is depressing stuff against an honestly horrible side. -

Fuck off man. We are incapable of resisting periods of sustained pressure at the moment. Terrible lack of resolve. -

Bruno getting lots of space to operate now. If that continues we'll kill them. I think Gallagher is meant to be marking him so it will no doubt continue. -

That is a great cross by Bruno. We have some proper dozzy fuckers in that penalty box from corners and free kicks at times. What are they expecting to happen? -

I know we all know it, but man Isak is something special. He makes the hardest skill in the game look like it's nothing to him. If he stays fit he'll score a mountain of goals for the club. -

Scott Parker and Owen on the Aussie coverage for pre-game/half-time. Somehow Scott Parker seems like a bigger tool than Owen. And he thinks he's some sort of frustrated football manager. I don't care if you're Nelson Mandela. If you're wearing a turtleneck skivvy, I ain't listening. -

That's the first actual chance they've had. Took them 49 minutes. -

Bailed out by offside call because that was shocking defending again. -

Absolutely perfect time to score. Halftime at 1-1. We'll batter them second half. They're crap. -

That's not a card either? Refs a dickhead. We were all over these muppets before we conceded. So disappointing to be behind. They are terrible. -

Not getting any of the 50/50 calls. Though not surprising since we're not getting any of the 100/0 decisions either. -

They were always going to get chances and score against us at the moment. Makes gifting them a goal the first time they attack all the more annoying. -

Dogshit. -
I don't doubt this for a moment. He's a player who has built his game on the humility of pure effort. He's limited. I whinge about him as much as anyone. Well almost. But I do love him. I would be incredibly sad to see Longstaff sold. The club needs a core of local players for host of reasons, not least of which is the custodianship of the club's identity and connection of the team to its support base. To sell Longstaff might make sense in raw numbers and in terms of bringing in players with more ability. But there is something to be said for a player who will happily play his career out for the club and do so with every inch of effort and energy and soul that he has in him. In a certain sense, the likes of Longstaff, Burn, Miley and Anderson as first team regulars are the tangible link between club and community on the pitch. There's a magic to that that I'd hate to see lost. There's a romance to Newcastle United that attracted me in the first place. I'd hate to see that go away too soon as we make only measured and calculable steps towards the top of the pile. I'd prefer that romance remained and we did things in the way that made us love this club in the first place. In saying all that, I reckon we should hoy the tea lady to Chelsea for megabucks. She's the best in the business. Don't make us put her on gardening leave!
