100% This seems to highlight why Howe wanted to get Pope and move Dubruv out the squad. Dubruv has largely performed well in terms of stopping shots but his style doesn't suit Howe's tactics. I'm interested to see what happens in the next few windows because given the FFP restrictions spending money on a backup GK that's similar to Pope is probably well down the list of priorities. And you'd have to imagine that Karius is also not the solution as Howe sees it. The only solution is to play Tino in goal. Yeah, sure, Burn is tall but he's too slow to sweep up throughballs. Need Tino's pace. When will Howe realise?!

Getting angry at Gloomy's perceived inability to tolerate that Howe has a difference of opinion has to be some sort of irony world record tbh. I also had no idea that Gloomy had been down the training ground demanding answers from Wor Eddie. Bit over the top. But I respect it. After expressing your opinion on the Toontastic Message Board there's only one place to go from there to raise the stakes and that's directly to Howe to demand answers. It's becoming obvious that Howe is just one more in a long line of question avoiders in the history of Toontastic. His silence has NOT gone unnoticed! -

Deserved to win. Questionable defending at times again. At this point we are simply gifting our opponents a clear gameplan and sense of self-confidence by playing Burn against a pacy winger (which most of them are in the PL). It just doesn't work without a vibrant midfield and Pope to sweep up behind. I figure everyone would fancy playing us at the moment because they don't have to wonder about how they're going to get a goal against us for even a second. I'm all for a good gambit but it just doesn't seem like the risk is worth it. I'm sure it's been mentioned. Taylor had an absolutely disgusting performance. He must be in the conversation for the worst PL ref going around. Anyway, got the win despite the negatives. Another win and more confidence. Another week closer to a few players back (hopefully). -

We're not allowed to have two fit players in a position in the front six so makes sense.

Terrible performance in terms of controlling the game and all aspects of defending across the entire pitch. I feel like there is a case to argue that Howe needs to develop his thinking around the selection of defenders too. He has stated that he likes to keep his back four selection consistent. That's fair enough. But for me there has to be more willingness to make tactical switches (like for example when your slow LB with the turning circle of the Queen Mary is up against the actual faster player in the league). He was quick on his feet against Villa in switching to a back five with wingbacks and pushing Burn inside to left-sided centre back. But prevention is better than a cure. Burn needed to be on the bench today. As it is now, Burn cannot be starting next week. That's a performance that requires him to take a seat. Terrible penalty to give away.
