I just don't think you can expect anyone signed in January short of a world class player to give immediate impact like that in a new club. It's no fuckin good buying a handful of players at the tail end of a massive downward spiral and then saying "well its 12 weeks later and we haven't done better, must be the manager's fault (who isn't even a fuckin manager) - instead of the clubs fault top to bottom. I kicked off at the 80 mil is a load of money stuff to much flaming - but lets use say, spurs they spent 48 mil since September on mainly squad players and it looks like they've spent steadily over years - we throw 80 mil in 2 windows at (some) players we don't even fucking need. We need defenders, strikers not more saleable midfield prospects. That said the quality of our signings these 2 windows has been a little better at least. -
I'm not serious btw Fish, I'd love to give you a big man hug you positive thinking old bean you. But, I still wonder if you're arguing for the sake of it, or really believe that Spurs and West Ham are buying on the same policy as us. They are getting a better quality, because they are buying half way finished articles - we're buying not even started in some cases (riviere). Your post above just says what I said in different language doesn't it? Btw spurs bought 3 in 2014, 1 so far this year. cant be arsed looking up west ham. I wish I recorded Keegan last year, because my thinkings coming mainly from listening to his rants, I think he's spot on and we are too , well I don't know - but why in gods name we've filled the stadium for 5 years under this set of clowns is beyond me. We're supporting failure , but I just can't help it, it's my club and every dawn I think they'll learn. The problem isn't their lack of football knowledge as much as their complete disinterest in learning about it. McClaren, like it or not , has arguably more pedigree than Carver, Kinnear, Pardew and we're still worse than shit for a PL club. Who are the fans and media attacking? the wrong person.... end of.

Not going to happen though mate, I'm probably the last faithful to the dream that McClaren has better chance of doing this than his predecessor. I totally believe these stupid stupid cunts will continue the same downward spiral. I thought McClaren bucked the trend, but he's doing no better either. I do still remember us playing some exciting football under him for 4 or 5 games this year, which is more than the last 3 seasons. Fish, fuck off again winding me up, Spurs and West Ham ffs. They both have a better transfer policy than us, and both are buying for the squad on ability, not the fuckin future sell on , on potential.

The premier league.
-
and you can fuck off n'all. Which premiership established player did we buy before steves arrival in the last 4 years? How many?
-
I'm not complaining about recruiting foreigners, as such. It's more going overseas to people with no premiership experience and buying them cheap on the promise of throwing them in the shop window. Hmm, that didn't really help did it.. Come on you knackers you know what I mean. Until this season (and credit to Steve) we've bought players who have at least played in this competition. Hows it a load of shit? because I don't parrot fashion the same views? How can you possibly say that we haven't had a policy to buy cheap overseas players and aim to sell them? Its fuckin obvious man, hows it a load of shit?
-
@Dr Gloom no fucker apart from bloody Alex Ferguson's level could bolster this dressing room. It's looking to me that we're seeing the fruits of recruiting foreigners on the basis of selling them if a big club comes in . They realise no big clubs going to come in and get fucked off at what they think is deceit. Being managed by Pardew, Carver for years and being stifled so they aren't attractive - why listen to the next Manager who comes in, more so with the next one etc. Add to that the fear of relegation , and the prospect of going to a decent club ever further away - and we have the match against Bournemouth. They put in for a few months, then when it wasn't easily clicking into place for them, they resign themselves to failure. I think we should get Gino, Perez, Mitro, Elliot, Shelvey, Townsend, Mb, Jannmatt , then take off and nuke the site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

Reading this thread makes me confused why saying McClaren shouldn't be sacked by us, draws so much vitriol. -

He'll probably stay on the board man. It's such a fucked up situation really. I can't believe they've fucked him like this to be honest. All this "80 mil" talk, we've neglected / quick bucked all of our defenders and strikers for years and 2 midfielders and a young striker are the answer - the manager is to blame? fuck that. I also wouldn't be surprised if the main argument - team selection is even 100% under his control, I bet Charn etc are wanting him to play Gouffran etc to try and increase chances of offloading since they have the midfield. -
Seriously, if we got Pearson, I'd feel the same that I did when McLaren arrived "ooo, he's a bit better than what I thought was within our reach / would work with Cashley" The decent ones are dreamworld.
-
lol you folks love teasing yourselves don't you? as if we'll get fuckin Moyes or Benetiz man, its paper talk. Fuckin rednapp or Sherwood if anyone off that list, I'd rather McLaren stays.

Well, what a shit show. You all know I think about the manager, but to have the players take 2 days off since the last match is inexcusable. This leadership is a fucking joke. -

I was really optimistic this year, to be honest every year before, since Pardew came, I've bet on relegation (I know, I know).... -

All I hope for is a miracle and somehow for things to turn around. I think Shearer hit it dead on. I cant see a manager change happening, and I don't see the Manager as actually having any real difference, its the regime that's rotton and mr S is on the board too. It's likely he'll lose coach job, but stay on the board! An insane situation. Team selection aside - it was the same core of reliable players that put in a stint again (and unfortunately for some on here, Colback was one of them) - Jaanmatt, Elliot, Taylor, Mitrovic (kind of), Colback , Shelvey were our team at the weekend. 6 out of 11 isn't good enough. -
Truly horrible comments being made over there like.

OMG people defending Ashley. I'm shocked, seriously I am. Cronies means his mates GPirlo, he's defo doing that, they've got salaries - I didn't know that Ashley didn't take a salary and find it hard to believe tbh. He gets free advertising for SD - has stolen the retail arm - do you have any idea how much this is worth if it was a salary? I'd rather the fucker took a salary! -

You could have used that post, albeit with different players, at any point in the last 4 years and it would have fit. Ashley's doing the club no favours, he's helping his cronies and leeching this club to death. yes it was good what he did straight after buying , but that was just to stabilise us financially and have a platform to build his business brands on. Which he has done magnificently , its selling lots of his brands. -
Yeah I get what I'm given when I go cos I'm buying on the day or borrowing a mates .

I hear you DK, I do mate, I just have lost this really, in the last season and seeing the fans bay at a Manager who I think has made us play a better style at most times. Your defeatist is my just seeing it how I think it is. I KNOW that Ashley is fucking my club, that's the one thing I do know. But hes done it for years and years now - so I have no reason to think that they are going to start making good decisions, its a downward spiral to me. Ok, I'm miles away, when AshleyOut started, I got more optimistic; but to me it just looked like "awww the stewards took our banners away" , how injust! And then really just a bit of fannying on. It should be a defeaning chorus of Anti-Ashley chants, with singers buying tickets in each section to get them going. They can't take peoples voices away and there's 40,000 regular fans in there - why isn't it? It pissed me off to see some of the stuff on the Stoke thread , with people baying at McClaren. Why cant we just for weeks on end send a strong vocal message to the media and apply pressure on what we really need to change, instead of what we're doing to an alright bloke , a good coach, trying to turn the squad around. He didn't inherit a winning team, we were fucked and much of Pard's style of shit play was just starting to wear off when he arrived. Oh god I'm ranting.
