i agree with leazes (never thought i'd say that) ashley is worse than shepherd....and i thought shepherd was a crap chairman so that's saying something
-
we could do with some cover at left back

taylor (about gazza) - "you're in this side to deliver pal!" neal - "that's what he's in the side for" ---- taylor - "the ball's there for them" neal - "it's there for them" --- taylor - "now this is a test isn't it" neal - "it's a real test" ---- jim rosnthal to taylor: "can we have a few words graham" taylor "use your heads. play football with your heads" class

Whilst it not being the context of your thread, i had to bring this one up... You are kidding me aren't you? What about the world-class save from Leon Osment's shot? oh yeah well, other than that. we had chances to win the game, they had one effort from outside the box that tested shay. i couldn't believe that effort n'zogbia's effort after ameobi's mazy run in the box didn't go in ...still a good result though, and a performance which was needed. fair play fat joe. Fucking hell do you actually watch our matches? Ameobi's mazy run, where he trips over the ball, drags it forward with his right leg, tries to shoot with his left only it's so bad it ends up being a spinning pass to N'Zogbia, that's mazy run? On the TV coverage here yesterday Mark Bosnich was one of the pundits and interestingly enough when quizzed about what his good mate Mark Viduka thinks about this, he said he's had a conversation or two with the fat lad but he's unable to talk about it, except the feeling amoung the players is Kinnear's main job is to deflect the media coverage away from his bosses. Also during a discussion about if KK bares any responsibility for the current situation by walking when he did, Bosnich alluded to the fact some other things happened at the club that Keegler's not allowed to disclose. Lastly it appears Viduka's in Australia on the "notion" he's having treatment on his achillies but reading between the lines don't be surprised if he doesn't play for us again! Especially while the current board are in charge! yes. he took the ball past a defender then slid it put it on a plate for n'zogbia. stop being an annoying australian

so many classic quotes out of that video: "Can we not knock it?" "I'm a metre...tell your pal he's just got me the sack" Taylor giving talk at training: "What we don't want is to be caught quick break"....cut to England getting caught quick break against Poland "You worry Rob, but don't fucking make the rest of us worry" we used to watch it all the time during uni days over tea and spliffs. comedy gold.

shame - we could do with more x-rated rants from joe if it helps produce performances like that

credit where it's due. his performance midweek took all the attention away from the players and they looked a different team today. i can't remember the last time we battled down from two goals down to get a result and we should have won the game in the end - i don't remember given having a save to make second half. nice time for the international break to come along.

i think people are voting with their feet against against ashley and rightly so. why support a fat odious twat who's only intent seems to be to run the club into the ground and make a massive profit in the process? as soon as we get new owners back in the crowds will return.

At a time of despair take comfort that there is....

Seems alot of your fellow Mags disagree as do I. Carragher has always been and will always be a very, very average player. He could have all the heart in the world (not that Ledley doesnt) and it wouldn't make up for the fact he is a one paced clogger. Terry reads the game better than all of them in my opinion but he is also one paced and his distribution sucks. what a load of bollocks. he's one of the best defenders in the league -
who? this has to be one of the least informative stories yet. it's got news of the screws written all over it
-
fuck me, we're in deep shit aren't we
-
i reckon we're going to win, simply because everyone expects us to lose and we not often predictable
-
he hasn't had a job since wimbledon has he? fuck me
-
i think we're going to win. owen to inspire the team, leading from the front with a skipper's performance
-
i think at this stage el tel is about the best we can hope for. we're not exactly in a position to pick and choose from the best managers in europe are we? no one is going to touch us with a barge poll. he's not a bad appointment given the circumstances. we're bound to get a new man in when we sell anyway
-
i think gazza has no one else to blame but himself. people are quick to claim his friends are responsible for him being in this very sad situation. gazza was a great player but he's become a pretty sad case - he needs to look in the mirror and sort himself out if you ask me. i don't mean to sound cold and unsympathetic but i am so that's the way it comes out.
-
he's a bit of a sad case really isn't he

Is there a big possibility on us getting relegated
Dr Gloom replied to wykikitoon's topic in Newcastle Forum
if our current situation continues i'd say there's a big chance of relegation. we're a rudderless ship at the moment. until ashley sells up, no one is going to fancy taking over. we can only hope for a quick sale, a new manager to take over asap and some big investment in january. otherwise it's going to be a long miserable season and potentially a disastrous one. -
NUFC owner Ashley calls in football's Mr Fixit
Dr Gloom replied to Happy Face's topic in Newcastle Forum
there is no new news in this statement. no need for the exclamation marks -
i'm going to put my money on no one or a last minute panic buy a'la sibierski. we can't have that many options with three days to go until the window shuts.

It's ok, we've still got Shola as cover. thank christ. i'll sleep easy tonight Well, last summer you were saying you were happy with him being 3rd or 4th choice striker. Glad you've wised-up though. i was but he's hardly played or scored a goal since then so i wouldn't lose any sleep if he were replaced. at the time i was saying that he was as good a 4th choice striker as alan smith, so why splash out that much on smudger? people here were saying smith was a good buy - you included. i knew from day dot that he was no better than shola. shola's still no worse than alan smith mind. i'd get rid of both of them if we could. shola's had enough chances now for me and smith was obvioulsy never good enough Tbf, I said Smith was good cover and expensive but better than we had as cover, i.e. Shola. Which is why I brought it up. You actually said you'd be happy with him as 3rd or 4th striker btw. i have always been as happy with shola as smith as a 3-4th choice striker because that's what they are - back up players at best. that's why i could never understand the point in signing smith, as we already had a pool of strikers and he wasn't better than any of them, plus we paid £6m and a massive weekly wage on him. madness. i'd get rid of both now if we could guarantee that we would replace them with better players. smith's always been poor and shola's had enough chances for me now and hasn't done himself any favours by lack of appearances and performances when he has been fit in the last 18 months or so.
