  1. Anora is probably the best film I've seen this year. 9/10
  2. i was offered tickets for england's opener in Dallas. politely declined
  3. Can’t be arsed with another saga. If he really does want out, get rid instead of letting it ruin our next summer transfer window/start of the season again. Should be able to extract a massive fee, particularly if he has a good World Cup. Having said that, it’s a pretty speculative piece of click bait from Hope.
  4. said it in the other thread but the only area where ramsdale looks better to me is his distribution. it's a small sample size but i'd bring pope back in based on what i've seen from ramsdale so far.
  5. he gave the ball away loads in the first half last night trying those line-breaking passes but it didn't bother me because he was the one trying to mke things happen. the rest of them were really struggling to pass it any way through their low block. it was a lot of safe sideways and backwards passing going all the way from one wing to the other. the sunderland game should suit us more because i imagine they'll come on to us. we're still not the best at unlocking the door against teams that drop off.
  6. I dunno. I just watched it back and it doesn't look any prettier than it did last night. Firstly he's rooted to his line (as he always seems to be when we defend corners) - Pope might have flapped a punch at it but i reckon there's a chance he tries to claim it. Then after the ball deflects off Bruno's arse he is SO slow to react just as he was for Romero's shanked overhead kick the other week. He dives after the ball is squirming past him
  7. the league is so tight this year, you can climb and fall quite a bit in a single weekend. if those results play out sunderland will have fallen from 4th to 12th over two game weeks. it probably won't shake out until the new year when at some point a group at the top will break away (it's arguably already happening with the three at the top). the important thing is to stay in touch with 4th-5th.
  8. ramsey is a concern. he is better with his feet but pope seems to be much better at everything else. ramsey is rooted to his line every time a corner comes in. his reactions also seem slow. their first one last might was a fluke goal but it reminded me of the second we conceded against spurs where ramsey seemed to dive after the ball trickled past him
  9. I generally stay out of the match thread these days. For one it’s a distraction from what’s happening in the game. But also for the reasons you mention. Better analysis of the game comes later when everyone has taken a breath
  10. Having said that, a point in Germany is a decent result and the second half performance was encouraging. If we beat PSV at home we qualify for the playoff round and the PSG game is a free hit which could still get us into the top 8 if we pull off an upset
  11. Another frustrating end to a match we should have won on balance. Shit first half but whatever was said at half time worked because we played much higher up the pitch. Gordon, who was shit in first half, suddenly starts receiving it in more dangerous positions and going on the outside instead of cutting inside every time. Our struggles to break down a well organised low block were exposed again in the first half. loads of sideways and backwards passes. Only Bruno looked to play a brave forward pass but couldn’t find his range. Joelinton is currently our weak link in midfield. He’s been quality since his reinvention as a midfielder but was a passenger most of the game and he’s had too many games like that this season. We looked loads better after Miley came on. He gave us so much more control. Gordon is right about the mentality. There’s a reason we keep throwing away leads at the death. I’d like Howe to make more positive changes when we’re ahead to mitigate it because we’re shit at defending a lead.
