  1. That's probably less in 7 years on our forward line than the mackems spent on Darren Bent. Given the fees received for Carroll, Ba, Best and Martins, his net spend on strikers is brutal.
  2. He's underachieved for what he's spent because of the areas in which he's skimped. Again... Cisse Best Perez Xisco The only strikers he's paid a fee for. No sympathy.
  3. He said outlay Debuchy is sold as well, which I'm sure was accounted for when outlaying for Cabella. We bought Nobby as well that week, so if we're talking net, according to .com 17m for owen, 9.5m Luque and 1.5m Nobby minus 9m Jenas is still 19m
  4. The highlighted bit is my problem. I'm 95% sure we won't sign a proven goalscorer, which will hinder the effectiveness of the creative types we've bought. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I will be.
  5. He'd rather sit on the bench for 90k pw than play for 89k pw that cunt
  6. Any ideas who? Because unless we get Remy then I don't see any signs. Maybe I'll be surprised, or maybe we'll sign some uninspiring shitter. Given Ashley's record of not signing strikers and the premium attached to proven goalscorers, I'm going to stay on the pessimistic side of the fence for now.
  7. Aye, I remember twisting about having the likes of Shola and LuaLua as backup to Shearer and Bellers. Lua Lua would probably improve our first 11 now It's our striker situation that's pissing me off more than anything else. This Riviere bloke's record is hardly prolific, just being linked with him is annoying me. His record is worse than Gomis', who we were told we passed on to concentrate on priority targets.
  8. No it's not new, but it doesn't make it acceptable. I think they've definitely got the lower expectations they were aiming for though. Perhaps that's what the last 2 windows were all about. I just can't get excited about fielding a worse team that last year given how dejected we all felt after last summer, because that's what they want.
  9. Cisse fucked Ben Arfa up too, he was like a rake till these goat curry days started in the canteen
  10. I don't, providing we address all of the gaps in our squad. We won't though. Remember last summer when the window closed and we all went off it because we hadn't signed a striker? We're our best 3 players lighter than we were then. 4 if you consider that Ben Arfa was in the frame then. We've brought in two that look decent signings but honestly, I can't see being as good as what they're replacing. We're considerably worse off than we were at the end of the last transfer summer window when we were all seething. We've made some progress but nothing near what we need, and history teaches me to expect the worst from these cunts.
  11. They've learnt fuck all man, Debuchy is sold regardless, Lee Dixon's confirmed it. They'll have an agreement with Arsenal to hold off announcing it. It's PR. Don't be taken in.
  12. They don't whilst the stadium's full. They're obviously a bit sensitive to crowds dropping though and the negative press it'd bring, given that they lied about how many hadn't renewed and keep putting super special offers on to get the numbers up. There'll be people buying them on the back of these couple of signings and that'll be job done for them. We've still got a worse team than we started last season with.
  13. I think our fans need to control themselves a little bit. We're ran by a set of clowns that are always looking to do the minimum. If they get wind of optimism they'll reign that spending right in!
  14. It'll take more than him for these cunts to win me round this time. Perez, Xisco, Cisse, Best. The strikers we've paid a fee for since Ashley bought the club. When he sorts that abomination out I'll be more optimistic.
  15. No, we demand more than the initial offer then roll over.
  16. Mike will be thrilled with a 4231, a great way to minimise what we need to spend on expensive strikers, switch to a system with one.
  17. He means literally play 3 or 4 positions. He's our new two strikers and winger.
  18. We've also got SDJ, HBA, RB and YG, all not quite midfielders not quite strikers. One senior striker, and no obvious replacement to replace the steel/range of passing that Cabaye gave us. The manager that wants people to track back has signed two midfielders that play higher up the pitch that Cabaye. I'm struggling to think who he'll play in the centre of the park. Also looks like we've brought in a replacement for HBA (still here) and still haven't replaced Ba. We're selling our best player for the second transfer window in a row. Oh and MYM looks like going, meaning we need a centre half. We'll probably just sign another midfielder with a cheap release clause to replace him though
  19. The way I look at it, Cabella/De Jong is worse than Cabaye, Janmaat is worse than Debuchy and this Riviere lad is worse than Remy. The novelty of actually getting replacements shouldn't cloud that we'll be worse off.
  20. “I’d like to pay tribute to my staff and in particular Graham (Carr), myself, Lee (Charnley), Mike (Ashley) and everyone on the board, who worked really hard for this one." I knew he'd ruin this for me.
