In the winter I just live in the dark. It's dark when I go to work at 7pm, it's still dark when I go home at 8am and I sleep through the daylight - it's horrible. Obviously the worst night of the year to work is when the clocks go back cos it gets to 2am and the hospital clocks turn themselves back to 1am. So depressing.

It's great doing nightshifts in the summer. Doesn't get dark til nearly 11 and starts getting light again by 4. Bizarrely it makes a 12hr shift feel shorter cos as soon as it gets light I feel more awake and that it's nearly hometime.

Did you sit upstairs on the front seat where you can look down at the driver? If not, then you wasted an opportunity Congrats on the result aswell!

Dirty protest

Saturday should be fun. I was hoping for a lovely summers evening so we'd have a pleasant view but I don't think we're going to get it.

They're discussing outfits so that they feel like they're on a night out and not just watching the footy. I'll have clothes on and will be watching the footy...

A few of us are out for dinner on Sat night (Mr and Mrs Tooj and a few others) and we've had to hang fire on booking what time to eat due to the footy. In the end we decided that we'd rather eat early and watch whatever match is on at 19.45hrs! In all honesty, the other 2 girlies aren't that impressed but I want my dinner over with so I can watch the match!

Luckily the surgeon wasn't English!

I felt like that on Friday night gone when I was convinced I was the only person in the country working when the Eng/Sweden match was on. Must admit we had the radio on in the operating theatre...
