  1. Just me watching this Jesus Christ Superstar thing on ITV?
  2. She's doing fantastically! They all got back from the US last Thursday after 2 operations and some pretty brutal physio, Ria is already weightbearing in her legs and able to push the pedals on a bike. I think the optimum time to see the extent of her improvement is 6 months after surgery so she's got some intense physio to go, but already she's doing things she could never do before. Part of her physio in the US was scaling a little climbing wall (with help) and no-one could believe she was doing it. If you join her facebook there are loads of progress videos that I don't know how to post on here. https://www.facebook.com/rias.rainbow Please add her as a friend and watch her progress cos it just makes you feel all warm and happy

    Cooking

Going to make a lamb tagine tomorrow. Never tried it before so it should be interesting. I shall also be making chocolate crispie cakes if anyone wants one.
  9. Really? Are you really that bothered by him?
  10. Where did I do that like? I said "To each their own." I personally find it weird. Just like I find it weird when I hear parents swearing in front of their kids. Maybe I'm a prude - who knows, but I've not accused your mother of anything.
  11. I've heard it hundreds of time between friends and peers, can't say I've ever heard a mother say it to her child. As for the second part of your post - no need to patronise.
  12. Yeah, we were dead golly gosh in our upstairs South Shields council flat. I've heard it hundreds of times too, I've just never had my mam use it in reply to me.
  13. I can honestly say that my mother would never have dreamed of saying "up me arse" to me when I was a kid (or even now!) and it's not something I'd ever say to my son. To each their own, obviously, but I find it more than a bit weird.
  14. It would probably have made her uncomfortable
  15. They say that in Ashton near Manchester aswell which is where I lived. Or they'd say "I'm not going out while 8 o'clock.." The other thing was my ex-husband used to say "I'll do it again" meaning 'later' if he hadn't got round to it, which confused me as I always though you had to have actually done something in the first place in order to do it again.
  16. I graduated from Manchester in 1998! Now that's a lifetime ago
  17. Do people genuinely sit and get angry about whether other people call themselves a Geordie when they were born 10cms outside of the prescribed boundary? Come on man. Stevie - grow the fuck up. Born in South Shields, brought up in Washington and now live in Saham via Manchester and Gateshead. Yes, I'm a Geordie too, so go and shove your snobbiness up your arse.
  18. I was gutted for him. I don't care if he's dour or doesn't play the media game, It's obvious he wants it badly and his game had noticeably improved since he started working with Lendl. Hopefully it's just a matter of time. Federer had the talent and experience to outplay him today but his time will come.
  19. It's safe to say I've had better weeks. We're dealing with a horrendous family situation, the bairn has been ill since Wednesday and I've had to leave the house for the last 4 nights knowing he's upset. Add to that the generally shit politics at work plus not a lot of sleep and I'm feeling a little bit broken.
  20. Loafers Anonymous - them's were t'days.... Where's Albert Kirkey these days?
  21. Always quite fancied seeing Grease the musical but never got round to it. I saw Dirty Dancing the musical in London and it was alright but had I not been on a hen weekend I wouldn't have bothered.
  22. Sounds like hard work! I'm on night 4. Roll on 8am..
