The Ballad of Wallis Island. Very British, eccentric, gorgeous scenery, funny and melancholic. Tim Key at his awkward best. Loved it.

The ‘guy’ was Ivo Graham (comedian) He did the same in the London marathon last year and did around 3hr 30.

That’s awful Dave 🙁 So much to be dealing with at the same time and you must feel helpless and very far away. Your garden solution sounds like exactly the right thing to do. Look after the things you can control and prepare yourself for the things you can’t. Much love to you all.

54 weeks?! Where the hell does she live? That’s not the current waiting time to have an initial consultation for a non-urgent condition.

Can anyone recommend me somewhere for a week in late June? Just me and the bairn (16) once his exams are finished. Neither of us like other people’s kids so ideally somewhere quiet in the Med, preferably a decent standard hotel all-inclusive in a small coastal bay. Not particularly bothered about there being loads of sightseeing but we both like a boat trip. Just really need to get away and the bairn has a brutal exam timetable and has worked his arse off so deserves a break when it’s all done. Thank you nicely 😘

Don’t make me fall out with you! 😄

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

Ruptured intestine. They’re also saying he’s being kept asleep after the first stage of surgery. They normally do this when the abdomen can’t be closed due to swelling etc and therefore patient is kept asleep as they wouldn’t be able to tolerate the pain when conscious. This is really, really nasty 🙁 -
Are we allowed to link to TikTok or will the board explode?

I wondered if I’d missed some big demonstration with placards in my time away It’s absolutely fair enough like - It’s a cesspit. However am I at a point where I won’t look at it for cat vids and cricket news? Not yet.

Thanks - I’ve edited the original

Sorry 🙁 I saw it on Insta but thought X would be more accessible. And I’m shit with links on here. Feel free to post a more palatable link and I’ll delete.

It’s not beyond possibility that the ribs have broken and punctured his lung! But that wouldn’t need abdominal surgery -

It isn’t ribs. He’s obviously perforated or torn something when he’s collided with the goal. Possibly bowel/spleen/liver and may have had internal bleeding since. It’s normal to keep someone under anaesthetic in critical care after emergency abdominal surgery and it tends to be for the first 24hrs and then they’ll wake him. It’ll be a long recovery though. Wishing him the best. -
That reminds me, I’ve just sat and watched The Inbetweeners movie with my teenage son…

Just catching up. I’m so, so sorry Scott 😢

This is exactly what has happened at the bairn’s school. His dad is a teacher there (also 25yrs) and they’re “restructuring” meaning they they’re looking for redundancies and demoting people from leadership roles without discussion or explanation. Unions are now involved. It also happened earlier in the year at another local Catholic secondary. It’s an absolute shambles.

Jealous 😩 When I win the lottery I’m just going to follow England Cricket around the world. And demand to work as Jimmy Anderson’s unpaid PA 🥰

@PaddockLad - has your mate gone there specifically to watch the IPL?
