  1. Seen Hope saying that although we like him, he thinks it's unlikely that we'd spend big on the lad from Porto, if the type of money that's been floated is true. One good season in the Portuguese league shouldn't equate to 70m+. 45 to 50m and I think he'd definitely be worth a punt. Porto had a poor season by their standards last season, so maybe they'd be willing to negotiate if it meant they could improve their squad as a whole with the money. So that likely leads us back to Jackson or Larsen along with Wissa. The AFCON is a worry though if it were Jackson, but Hope reiterated his stance that we're not as high on Jackson as some are making out.
  2. Downie has shot down the Muani rumour. In fairness it has looked like Juve would make that permanent for a while now. I hadn't seen the Isak to PSG rumour 😂
  3. 😂 What the fuck is going on. Maybe we're going to negotiate for Muani and Aghehowa at the same time to confuse other teams trying to gazzump us. And if I can just step into the dream club for a second, imagine if we signed both instead of having one of them and Wissa. Then again we'll probably get neither.
  4. According to Ornstein Wolves have put up the not for sale sign on Larsen. So maybe the info about them perhaps being willing sellers was nonsense, someone trying to unsettle him, or it's a negotiating tactic from Wolves. In fairness I was surprised that they might be willing to sell, given how difficult it is to get decent strikers. Maybe that's why Aghehowa's name has come into the reckoning.
  5. To be fair Italian football papers are barely worth using to wrap their fish and chips in. If you think Romano is bad he's likely a fucking angel in comparison to his compatriots.
  6. Apologies for the triple post 😅 Seems like Brentford are progressing in getting their Wissa replacement in.
  7. Yeah, but supposedly they might be looking to make an instant profit. They'd agreed a 23m fee, presumably last season, so they'd be able to at least double, if not triple their investment.
  8. So they want about 70m pound, and his agents are untrustworthy twats. Anyone else have a severe case of deja vu 😅
  9. The football hipsters are going to be bursting out of their skinny jeans with this one 😂 I've heard that he's a beast though in fairness.
  10. Of the names mentioned for striker I honestly think Strand Larsen is underrated, and out of the ones we are said to have an interest in he's probably the best option along with Wissa. Larsen's conversion rate in a Wolves team that weren't exactly laying them on a plate for him was elite. Some coaching from Howe and a far superior supply from our midfield, and he could be a very smart addition. If Larsen was still playing for Celta Vigo and we were after him, as opposed to him being at Wolves last season, the football hipsters would be creaming their pants.
  11. In an ideal world every manager would want two strikers like Isak and Ekitike, with perhaps an asterisk next to Ekitike until he actual proves himself in the Prem, but keeping both happy isn't easy even if you do have a lot of games. Spuds were qualifying for Europe almost every year when Kane was there and they had a lot of games, but they still had a lot of trouble finding a quality back up to Kane, because young quality players don't want to be back up to anyone. All it takes is for Isak to try and little bro Ekitike once and there's an issue.
  12. It does make me question if Liverpool even really still have a strong interest in Isak. Why would you sign a player who's clearly the replacement for the player who's supposedly your first choice. Now maybe they seen what the price was going to be for Isak and decided to go for Ekitike instead, but I don't see how both of them work in that team, unless Ekitike is shifted out to the left. So Ekitike would either be benched quite often, or have to share minutes with someone like Gakpo in his second choice position, and whoever else Liverpool spend their seemingly unlimited funds on. Even Carragher was saying that he doesn't see how they fit together. He did also whine about Liverpool having to pay anything close to 150m, and this of course is after him glazing Isak last season on MNF saying that if he had 150m he'd pay it himself. So, breaking news, Carragher is a cunt.
  13. At this point I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Eales walks away from the club like Keyser Soze, having not been ill at all. Such has been the the levels of incompetence.
  14. Bournemouth clearing the way for Liverpool, allegedly 😂 Getting Wissa in would be much more of a relief than it should be.
  15. Far as I can tell the source is "Empire of the KOP". They're almost certainly just taking the piss and or looking for clicks. According to other actual respected journos, or as respected as is possible, Liverpool don't want squad depth in the forward positions, they want players who will start. If Liverpool buy Wissa to sit him on the bench, which is where he'd be, I'll start believing the coordinated attacks on us conspiracy.
  16. According to Bild when you add everything up Man U will have given Leipzig 90m euros which is probably a bit more than we offered in real terms, because I doubt all of the 10m in add ons was easily achievable. And I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they negotiated a sell on fee as well.
  17. According to Hope there's word that a deal could be done for him despite them just making his move permanent. Maybe they have PSR issues.
  18. 65m was the number in the article. Seems expensive at that price, but given his age, ability to score goals in the PL, and I would assume Wolves's reluctance to sell him, we may have to stump up at least close to that if we want him. Anything around 50m and I'd snap your hand off. Wolves have only just paid 23m for him off Celta Vigo. I presume he was on loan last season. So we could maybe make the case for them more than doubling their money for around that 50m mark. He's reportedly a good lad as well, which is always a good thing given the current psycho drama around Isak.
  19. Reading that, and reading between the lines, it seems like Jackson isn't our current 1st choice. It seems like it will be a pairing of either Strand Larsen and Wissa, or Watkins and Muniz. I'd take option A all day long over B. Larsen got 14 goals and 4 assists in a very average Wolves side who were flirting with relegation for periods of last season. Larsen and Wissa aren't the most glamorous names, but they can score goals, and Howe can improve any half decent player, and they're more than half decent.
  20. 😂 It's 2am in the club, and the beer goggles are firmly on. In all seriousness I'd back Howe to get a better tune out of him than Chelsea ever did. He's got all the raw physical attributes and is still only 24. It's just a bit of a come down from Ekitike and Sesko, and who the fuck wants to give Chelsea more money. No way in Hell should we pay any more than 50m though. We'll have been robbed if they get 60+ off us. Potential is great, but you should largely be paying for current reality. The other downside, as already mentioned, is if we buy Jackson and Wissa they have AFCON. But maybe we'll end up with Isak and Jackson instead.
  21. Man U's add ons are easily achievable according to Romano, so I wouldn't be surprised if what we both offered was identical in real terms, with 5m euro of our add ons being difficult to achieve.
  22. The German Sky Sports lads are saying that Sesko could have earned more playing for us, waived part of his salary, and his agents gave up a significant percentage of their commission to get the deal done. If you believe all that I've got a bridge to sell you. History is written by the victors, and that statement, obviously put out by either Sesko's agent or Man U, has the stench of PR bullshit all over it.
