For someone who largely played as a winger before moving to Brentford, and has played wide for them quite often as well, he has very good centre forward positional sense and instinct. Obviously you can be taught where to run to a certain extent, but he really seems to be a natural in that respect.

Seems like Brentford and Bouremouth have got the replacements that will allow Wissa to join us. I'd be surprised if Wissa isn't done early next week. Shame we couldn't have got him for opening weekend obviously, but a home debut goal against Liverpool would do nicely.

I see Forest are in negotiations for that young French striker Kalimuendo. Their opening bid was only 30m euro, so unless they're doing a Liverpool and lowballing in the extreme, something in the region seems pretty reasonable given he scored 17 goals for Rennes last season, who only finished 12th. It would make a nice change if we hijacked someone else's transfer.

Football Insider, yes I know, are reporting that we're about to put in a bid for Samu. It would be nice if this was one of two times in ten they are correct 😂

Hopefully we can get both Ramsey and Wissa registered in time for the weekend, if and when we sign them. I seen Downie saying that Ramsey isn't completely agreed yet, but there was hope that a deal will be struck pretty quickly. I'd imagine the clubs are still haggling over payment structure etc, so it will only present a postponement in him signing at most. Given the summer we've had I'd imagine Howe will throw both Wissa and Ramsey on the bench if we have them, as opposed to his usual more cautious approach.

Pretty sure it's only loan players you can embargo, someone correct me if I'm wrong. Once a players signed for you, you can play him in whatever match you like as far as I'm aware.

I did read that we were supposed to sign him in the pre PSR window because Villa were teetering on the edge of being in violation, but they managed to resolve it through some other means. So negotiations were likely going on in the background since then. Fair play to Villa, Ramsey and his agent for not turning it into a circus like some of our other attempts at signing players.

😂 Citeh are exploring a deal to sign Donnarumma if they can get shot of Ederson. Seems as though Trafford was mistaken in saying it was the best move for his career. To give him the benefit of the doubt I suppose he probably had very little if any say in signing for Citeh given the clause, and he's hardly going to say I'm shit scared I'll be sat next to Scott Carson on the bench most weeks. It will still surely be a kick in the balls if Citeh do get Donnarumma though, given he's 5 years younger than Ederson and won't be bought to be left on the bench. Trafford may have seen a plausible path to taking Ederson's spot, if not this season then next.

I think that Sacha guy was one of the people saying that Sesko had decided to go to us, so I don't know how reliable he is. Hopefully it is true though. As people have said these are the types of signings we should be making to fill out the squad. Young, attainable players with plenty of potential. He's certainly a much more exciting prospect than a like for like Longstaff replacement. Having someone who can come on late in the game and make things happen, against teams that park the bus, is exactly what we need.

My guess would be that people heard that he was promised a new contract before Amanda left, and then that turned into a game of telephone where he was also promised he could leave.
-
He's from Dublin, which means everyone in Ireland who isn't from Dublin thinks he's a cunt. Could just be my bias though 😂 As Rayvin was saying though, the fat baldy cunts entire identity seems to be wrapped up in supporting Liverpool. He'd be long dead if he'd supported us for the Ashley years 😂

Two archangels, with Jota 20 shirts on, floated down and carried him back up to heaven.

According to Hope, us and a couple of other prem teams were quoted 80m pound for Samu off Porto. So Porto clearly aren't in the mood for selling if they stick to that prohibitive valuation. He also said that who we eventually get to replace Isak could be a name that hasn't been mentioned yet. It would be nice to get another big signing that goes completely under the radar, and is basically done by the time we hear about it.

Seems like Brentford are making progress with the Bournemouth player. After Gordon's injury getting Wissa as soon as possible is even more important obviously. Hopefully Gordon's injury looked worse than it is, but I can't see him starting next week regardless.

Goodfellas.

Seen some lad on twitter trying to argue we've overspent on Thiaw, and that in his, obviously expert opinion, he's only worth 20 to 25m euro. Personally I haven't seen too many 24 year old internationals with three years of Champions League experience going for less than 40m euro. Maybe ten years ago, but we all know how crazy the prices have got. I also seen some lad say that the Como price included a big sell on clause, so maybe take it with a pinch of salt seeing as it was a random saying it, but I could see that being the case. Big sell on clauses are how a lot of smaller teams afford big players. And again the Premier League tax is definitely real.

https://x.com/avfcbreaking/status/1954073743233294710 I know he's got plenty of detractors, but in fairness he sums up the PSR bullshit pretty succinctly.

Premier League tax would have come in regardless I think.

If we're keeping Isak, then Ramsdale, Elanga, Thiaw, and Wissa is a decent window, but obviously knock on wood that Thiaw and Wissa get signed given how the summer has gone so far. We'll have spent about 120m so a replacement for Longstaff would be doable as well.
-
Chelsea would be more likely given Colwill just did his cruciate.
-
If Isak is staying until next summer we have to get a concrete deal in place for his replacement. Either buy him now, if the budget allows it, which seemed to be the plan with Ekitike, or agree a deal where a player comes next summer. Man City, Chelsea, Real etc do it quite often where they've basically half signed a player, and allow him to play one more season at his present club. Whether we could do that with Porto for example, who knows. What we can't be doing is getting caught with our pants down again next summer, scrambling for a replacement when everyone knows we'll be flush with cash.

So he really likes us? 😍 You better not be lying or misinformed Craig 😂 Seems like there's some traction in this.
