  1. If we get Hall our transfer window has been a 9 out of 10. 10 out of 10 would have been a RCB of similar quality to Botman in addition to Hall and the rest, but that might have to wait until January or next summer.
  2. Just watched the second half of the Super Cup there. Citeh had basically the first team out in what was supposedly sweltering heat over in Greece. They didn't make any subs until the 80th either, and only brought on Alvarez when they did iirc. You would think it bodes well for them not being at their best for Saturday. Then again maybe it will just be extra fitness given it's the start of the season.
  3. Reading the comments under the Chelsea news account there's a bit of debate as to how reliable the guy is, understandably, but apparently he did have the news of how bad Nkunku's injury was early among other things. Of course he could have just got a lucky guess on the injury. But we'll see, there does seem to be some momentum behind Hall making a move.
  4. Forest, Bournemouth, Brentford if they sell Henry or even as cover for him, Palace now that Hall isn't looking likely for them etc. There's plenty of teams that would be more than happy to have his experience in the PL and professionalism in their squad's. 10m in this market would be more than fair for a player of his profile, and it's a price that most teams in the PL can afford. He's never going to pull up any trees, but he's a 6.5/7 out of 10 consistently.
  5. Surely we could get at least ten million for Targett, and that would be the FFP sorted for a year and a bit over the length of Hall's contract.
  6. Douglas seems to think Hall is our first choice over Tierney and Cucurella, and that he's open to a move.
  7. I was relying on a twitter analyst for the profile of his supposed strengths. I can't say I've seen him play like yourself.
  8. The Athletic have added the name of Juan Miranda off Betis to the four man list of LB's we're targeting. The others obviously being Cucurella, Hall and Tierney. My first reaction was, what that bloke who wrote Hamilton, but apparently he's a 23 year old Spanish footballer, with a good mix of Burn's defensive solidity and Trippier's attacking intent.
  9. Just reading about this Olise stuff, and Palace accusing Chelsea of tapping him up. Surely that argument between them will put the kibosh on the loan deal they had going for Hall, regardless of our interest.
  10. If it's a loan I don't see how it would be hard to find a way because of FFP, so that seems weird. Surely his wages and the loan fee wouldn't be that high. Unless it's an obligation to buy at the end of the loan, but even still we should have money to spend a year from now. I don't think we should loan him just for a year with no obligation or option to buy. Why should we develop a rivals player for a year only to hand them back. It will be interesting to see what happens come the end of the window. It does really seem like we are going for a LB, after everyone thought we'd close our business with a RCB. It would be nice to get both, but perhaps the RCB's we want to eventually replace Schar are out of reach at present because of money etc.
  11. Brighton are supposed to be after some 19 year old Boca Juniors left back called Barco for 8m. Surely it would be an idea to just outbid them given their record on players these past few seasons.
  12. I'll be very surprised if Citeh don't go after another attacking mid. They were already a bit light there, by their standards, and had lost a lot of goals from Mahrez and Gundogan leaving. As for the match at the weekend I don't think there'll be a better time to play them than now. Mid week European game, they're traditionally quite slow starters, and even though they won 3-0 in the end, they didn't look all that convincing against Burnley. I wouldn't be shocked if we win, but I'd be more than happy with a draw when you consider they have Ivan Drago up front.
  13. I thought the supposed Nixon story might have been made up given his social media news feed seems to be behind a paywall on Patreon, but Hope has chimed in as well. It would be funny if the Nixon thing is fake and Hope got fooled as well. If we are running low on transfer funds, and can pull off the Hall move for a loan with an obligation it will be deal of the summer. And to top it off Hall and his family are supposedly Newcastle fans. As I said before, Livramento and Hall would be our full back positions, and the English national team for that matter, covered for the next decade or more. Not that I give a fuck about the England national team 😉👍 Having said all that, it's probably best not to get too excited given it did seem all but certain that he was going on loan to Palace, I think there's even a picture of him doing some club media photos in full kit. But perhaps Nkunku getting injured has prompted them to buy another attacker, and they need the assurance of a transfer fee coming their way, even if it's delayed by a year.
  14. Timber getting injured might put a damper on Tierney, but it was weird that be was playing LB in the first place given he's seemingly only ever played RCB and RB. Then again they still have Zinchenko and one or two others who can operate there. Getting Tierney a move if he's been assured of one might be of more concern, wage bill FFP etc.
  15. His logic is flawless. The Moretti, spaghetti chant is a bit cringe and complicated.
  16. Jackson just got yellow carded for holding up the imaginary yellow card. So at least we have a bit of consistency after Bruno's card yesterday.
  17. Not impressed by either team here so far. Might be famous last words, but looking at how open Liverpool still are, we could really give them a good trouncing in a few weeks. Especially given that they won't be sitting back obviously, as a lot of teams will when they visit us. Unless Klopp becomes substantially more conservative in his selection, and very quickly gets Lavia or whoever in as DM.
