  1. What's been missed in all this is that the Wissa deal doesn't seem entirely dead either, from what Hope's article said, but perhaps that's just Wissa being overly optimistic. Wissa and Woltemade could potentially be infinitely better than we thought we'd do just a few hours ago. If we get Woltemade over the line, don't want to jinx it, then it should make it easier to sign another striker without getting bent over. Of course Stuttgart have already bent us over to a certain extent if those figures are accurate. Has to be said though, that Bayern don't try to buy shit German players.
  2. Roughly 65m pounds. Bayern offered them 50m, some add ons, a sell on percentage, and were turned down.
  3. It would be typical if Woltemade's agent is using us to get Bayern back in for his client. Hope is usually pretty good on these things though, he's no chicken nonce.
  4. Bayern are close to getting Jackson on loan, so there's obviously been an issue between Stuttgart and them. I do remember that it was a protracted attempt which fizzeled, I think over price. Bayern are probably like Liverpool and the other septics, in that they think they should be able to sign players from clubs that they see as below them, for a price that suits them.
  5. Unless you work for Stuttgart FC I'm not sure how you'd have inside knowledge. No offence like.
  6. Hope has said we're closing in on buying Woltemade off Stuttgart. Or at least that's what the comments below are saying his article is saying. Fucking hell, that's crazy if true. He's very highly rated, but I was sure he'd wait for Bayern in the next window.
  7. We're supposedly after some Ukrainian Roma striker called Dovbyk on loan, but Roma want a 30m euro obligation in the loan agreement. It was in the guardian today. He's 28, but if he's any good 30m euro isn't bad nowadays. I'd imagine he's our back up plan Z if Wissa and Larsen both end up staying at their respective clubs.
  8. Would you trust Andy Howe in a game of chicken? I do think we'll get either Larsen or Wissa, and maybe both, but that of course is the least likely outcome.
  9. Yeah he was pretty blatant. When Chapman asked him what he thought Amorim meant by saying the players had made themselves clear, or however he phrased it, and he said, "oh well maybe they gave him some words of support in the dressing room" 😂 Yes Phil, they were in there tickling his balls as well.
  10. I'd love to know where all this "confidence" comes from when we're bidding for players. Is it just the journalists making their best guess, or are we actually sat there like an overconfident specky cunt at a disco, and telling Hope, Downie etc that we're on a promise. There are of course a lot of moving parts to transfers, so perhaps my original guess that they're finding it difficult to buy a suitable replacement is correct.
  11. Funny you say that. Jacobs says its not linked to Larsen leaving, but surely they'd be more ammeanable with a striker through the door.
  12. Hope has said Wolves will reject a bid of 60m+. So either Wolves are having trouble getting a replacement, or they want to absolutely rinse us. Of course it could be both things.
  13. Fingers crossed Big Joe and Sandro will be back after the international break, or soon after.
  14. It appears some Leeds fans are yet to appreciate the subtle, ever so subtle, brilliance of Ciggy 😂
  15. Yeah we need to do whatever the Forest owner did, because he clearly put the frighteners on Gibbs-White.
  16. Well Wolves took a chance on him and negotiated that fee before the loan started I'd imagine. Proving you can score in the prem obviously adds a lot of value. A 24 year old striker who can score 15 to 20 goals a season, and I do think in our team he could do that, is going to cost around 50m. And he's only costing that and not more because he's only done it for one season.
  17. Personally I think it's crazy to want a player like Vlahovic, who supposedly is an arrogant cunt who stopped running for Juve at various times and has never played in the prem, over Larsen who by all accounts has a great attitude and had 14 goals from open play in a piss poor Wolves team last season. Will we end up overpaying by about 10m for him, sure, but he's also the best option we have at this stage.
  18. Fjortoft might actually know what he's talking about given Larsen is his countrymen. Would obviously be nice to get him early enough to be included in the 11 against Leeds, but Eddie probably wouldn't start him regardless. Assuming we are still capable of signing strikers.
  19. Thanks, and apologies to everyone for putting it in the wrong thread. I can see what you're saying about Gravenberch, but for me it was the sort of tackle that transcends the time at which it's done. I honestly think it was as bad as Gordon's tackle in terms of how dangerous is was.
  20. I know this is the wrong thread, but if you'll indulge me so I can check I'm not going crazy. Is it the unbiased consensus on here that Gravenburk and Kuntate should have both been sent off, and that we had at least one clear cut pen. I'm not clear if the second yellow, possible red for Konate was inside or outside the box, I'd got up to get a beer or something at that point. I've been avoiding watching highlights until now given how fucked off I was about the match.
  21. Barnes is fucking shite by the way. If he's not cutting in and curling a goal in what the fuck does he do. He may puts one or two decent crosses in per match, the rest of the time he's running down blind alleys. The problem is that what he does can be very effectively defended by any half decent full back. And after that Ekitike goal I'm turning this shite off.
