  1. I'd normally assume that as well, but wasn't Graeme Bailey, the co-writer of the article, pretty bang on in the January window?
  2. I've only read this page, so apologies if this has been mentioned, but 90minutes are saying we're close to signing the young French lad Ekitike from Reims, on a loan with an obligation to buy season after next, plus we plan to bring Targett on a perm for 15m which is hardly a surprise, and Lingard on a free. If we could get those three for an outlay of 15m on transfer fees for the 2022/23 summer transfer window, we'd be off to an incredible start. The room that getting Lingard and Ekitike in on a free and initial loan respectively could give us, could be crucial in terms of getting the big money centre half and centre forward in that we're also looking to get. Newcastle transfers: Hugo Ekitike, Matt Targett & Jesse Lingard headline summer plans (90min.com) Edit. Of course Ekitike is a striker as well, but I'd be surprised if we put all our eggs in his basket given he'll only have turned 20, and not even played a full senior season in France in terms of apps by the time we sign him. Which is likely why, if the article is accurate, we are trying to get him in on an initial season loan.
  3. I have to admit that I thought Targett was bang average at Villa, mostly based on his output as a wing back given I didn't watch him week in week out, but he's at least a seven every game. He rarely does anything too spectacular, but he's solid as a rock. He's exactly the sort of Dennis Irwin type player you need in your team, or at the very least an indispensable squad player. If we can get him for 15m that would be a pretty good deal in today's market.

  6. I'm actually shocked that Bruno hasn't scored more goals in his professional career. Perhaps it's a function of playing in a deeper position for other teams, but he has the athleticism, footballing intelligence, touch, timing of his runs into the box, basically everything you need to be a top goal scoring midfielder in his locker.
  7. Ziyech can fuck off as well. Cunt was whinging the whole match. In fact it's pretty much a where's waldo game to find a Chelski player who isn't some variety of cunt.
  8. As people have already said the only positive we can take is that we're gutted and feel genuinely hard done by to lose 1-0 at Stamford Bridge, and with so many players out injured. It's tough competition in the premier league, but that's possibly the worst performance by a ref this season. Two clear cut decisions. Or at the very least VAR should have overturned the refs decisions. All this it has to be a clear and obvious error shite if fucking deliberately vague nonsense so they can get away with murder.
  9. At Bournemouth I think it was more a case of well I may as well go for broke a little bit, given I probably don't have the quality to hold on for a full 90.
  10. Howe's plan seems to be more or less working so far, so fair play to him and the lads. Hasselbank thinks Havertz is very lucky to still be on, Redknapp more or less was going that way as well.

I haven't read all the comments, but I presume some are posing the question of what if the same thing that's happened to Chelsea happens to us given who our owners are. I admit that would really pour a few million gallons of piss in our collective cornflakes, and make the lovely cognitive dissonance we've been cultivating all but impossible to maintain. Having said all that the realpolitik reading of the situation is that the Saudi's have been partners with the Western powers for a very long time, you just need to see the amount of weapons and logistical support they have given over the years, and even though a week is a long time in politics, it would take something pretty major for the the US, UK etc to turn their backs on Saudi and to begin sanctioning them. Perhaps the relationship will change fundamentally when we become less dependent on oil, but that could be decades away yet given how relatively unreliable renewables still are, at least in terms of storing energy.
  12. Southampton 1-2 Newcastle: Hasenhuttl frustrated by missed chances - BBC Sport Whinging about us going down with cramp when players possibly weren't actually injured 😂 Coming from a team who got caught out pretending to be injured in multiple matches. What a fucking nonce. Apart from that he wasn't too bad, still a nonce though 😀

  14. I see Eddie has got Rick Flair in as a motivational speaker. Makes a lot of sense.
  15. Sounds like your man Tom Kerridge the tv chef. Probably not him like.
  16. 😂 A back fucking heel volley. Hasselhoff will be fuming the cunt.
  17. Was about to say we should hook Shelvey given how often he's given the ball away, but fair play that was a quality ball.
  18. 🤣 They really are the Scouse mackems.
  19. What is your logic? That you have to target Russians until they march on mass against their government, who in all likelihood would enact another Tiananmen Square if that were to happen.
  20. Well EA sports have taken the Russian teams out of their games, a cat competition has banned Russian bred and breed cats, books by Russian authors are being banned at colleges, or they are at least trying to, and Russian and Belarusian Paralympians have been banned from the Beijing Paralympics. So you know really, really helpful stuff that's not just hurtful to the Russian people as opposed to their government that's run by a tyrant. Unfortunately we're led by tyrants, idiots and incompetent's, and at times all three of those things at once.
  21. Bruce after getting West Brom relegated "Right I'm going to do it my way from now on".
  22. On the subject of Southampton did anyone see Neville and Carragher pointing out that Southampton have consistently been getting a player to pretend to be injured around the 65 minute mark in matches, in order for the rest of the team to refuel, take water, gels etc. It's perhaps not on the same level as getting a match postponed when you don't need to, but it's still a bit of chicanery from the sanctimonious Hassenhuttl.
