  1. Fuck it I'll humour you. Headstock carve looks a bit off and there's a zero-fret. Looks a bit fake but would need to see a bit more of the body to say for sure.
  2. That's a bargain for that tbf. I was assuming two or three grand. I'd sooner try carving one out of an old door. Firebird is awkward as fuck like. I think they carved the body from a railway sleeper, but the neck actually plays really well after a bit of work and the mini-humbuckers are a bit different from anything else I've got. Mostly just hangs on the wall and gathers dust though. Lucked out for £80 but I think they'd misspelled Firebird on the eBay listing and I probably wouldn't have bought it sober. Definitely looks and feels like a Westfield up close.
  3. That's a nice lump of wood. I really like a Les Paul but think I've been converted to SGs now that my back is fucked. Saying that I've never owned a "real" (Gibson) one of either on account of being a tight bastard. Wouldn't hold a candle to your LP but the nicest looking rosewood fretboard I've got kicking around is an old Westfield Firebird that arrived by surprise in the post after I'd overdone the Johnnie Walker. Something almost hypnotic about the grain (woodgrain I mean, but probably equally applies to the drink).
  4. Easy there hmhm. For what it's worth I don't have a dog in that fight and wasn't trying to stir up any shit, just thought it was a great game of football on a night there was fuck all else worth watching. We're no all mad bigots up here.
  5. I'd normally agree, just seems relevant here given that opinion across the whole country here is that Celtic did well to make a total bollocks of getting in Eddie Howe and take a gamble on the fat Australian bloke. I'll get my coat.
  6. Back on more important matters, I'm having a hard time believing only three folk here watched Wednesdays old firm.
  7. Aaah fuck is this a test? I'm an unashamed Pantera fan (actually I take that back, I'm very ashamed and still working through all the stages of grief) but in the Crybaby stakes this is probably a close second favourite behind the Jerry Cantrell signature. That said, I couldnt use a wah properly if my life depended on it and rarely ever use one but still love them.
  8. All the best to you and yours man, sorry for your loss. Echoing what others have said I hope you're doing okay and able to grieve in your own way and in your own time.
  9. Honestly this probably the most I've paid attention to the SPL in my whole life, it's been great to follow this season. Quite a lot riding on it too with automatic Champions League qualification back on the cards for the winner.
  10. Youse could probably be doing with Jota and Ange Postecoglu n'all.
  11. Should be a decent game but I doubt it'll have that level of drama tbh. Im sure Strathclyde Police will still have a busier than usual Wednesday night regardless of the result.
  12. Old firm about to get started if anyone's really bored with the English winter break. First late kick-off since the shame game 11 years ago.
  13. Davidson was a pretty canny politician tbf. Only things I could really think to fault her on (off-hand) was her attitude toward drug legislation and her penchant for typically Tory style PR stunt photo opportunities. I'm glad she fucked off to the House of Lords and left that halfwit Douglas Ross in charge.
  14. I should just have said Murdoch tbf, the younger Hitchens brother was just the first cunt that sprung to mind that will likely have an article in the next Mail on Sunday attempting explain why Tennessee might be write to ban Maus (with a side-column about the dangers of LGBT rights).
  15. A trifecta of cunts. Is that Peter Hitchins in the backseat?
  16. Let me try to predict where this is going: Asprilla has a swastika tattoo but couldn't possibly be a racist as he has Jewish and black work colleagues.
  17. Let me get this straight then, Cis-women should have safe-spaces to get changed, but simultaneously need real men in their changing rooms to protect them from trans-women. Got it. 👍
  18. Same with Bax Music fwiw. I've honestly no idea why they don't make it more obvious on their website.
  19. There's something seriously off about a bloke who is against the idea of trans women using women's changing rooms but all for mixed changing rooms.
  20. Most swimming bath changing rooms here aren't gendered and honestly it's not a problem.
  21. If you're talking about the Harley Bentons from Thomann, this might help, from the Thomann website:
  22. Don't worry about me like. I'm just some pisshead Scot that has no real connection with Newcastle or the club and is only here for the guitar thread. It's all good, just messing, no real suspicion. The Pud I know would never have been able to type so articulately and would definitely never have been allowed to foster.
  23. This all sounds like an elaborate cover-up to convince me you're not the same Pud that played a secondary but significant role in how I ended up here of all the godforsaken corners of the net. More seriously though, huge respect for foster caring.
  24. Aye. A vegan mate was telling me about Sauerkraut based "cheese" alternatives, which weirdly angered me almost as much as hearing my other (non-vegan) mate say he "just didn't like cheese".
  25. I still do buy physical releases sometimes, as well as a lot of stuff bought from bandcamp I haven't even listened to. Admittedly nowhere near as often as I probably should though. We've got a fantastic local indy record shop here in town that I try to support as much as I can too, but given 90% of the music I listen to isn't exactly "new", buying second hand records from there isn't supporting the artist any more than just streaming from Spotify. Im not trying to argue artists aren't getting absolutely shafted by Spotify and the like, but I remember similar arguements in the 90s about earnings from physical records sales being negligible and most earnings coming from touring.
