Fjord fuck's sake. -
Fjord what it's worth I'd be happy for Obertan to be dropped, I just don't think we're the 'Hatem Globetrotters' yet as the Norwegian propogandists have it. It's complete naivety fjord fucks sake.
-
Equally what Aguerro could do with an orange (namely eat it), Ba could do with a ball, owing to his dislocatable jaw, so it's even stevens.
-
Best losing the ball up front is containable. Obertan losing the ball on the wing is containable. Wasn't tonight. What you're attempting to justify is playing two players who rarely do anything proactive with possession (most of the time they simply lose it), over HBA, who we all know is capable of much more. HBA came on. Best didn't even get on the field. It's about lining up against an opposition. I don't think Obertan should be starting in all honesty, I don't see what he does to warrant it overall, but at the same time I don't think it's as simplistic as people make out ie: you play B Arfa from the start instead of Best/Obertan AN Other ergo you win. Just not realistic iyam and certainly not reason to call for Pardew to be sacked as some are doing. His starting point is to try and make us hard to beat and I genuinely think that's a good thing.

Pardew isn't much more than that really... however I wouldn't insert someone proven at the highest level for sure. Can you please stop posting about football. I'll happily talk about music etc with you, but not football. By the sound of your voice, wouldnt be much talking would there? What? -

I'm glad people finally realizes what pards really is Who would you have instead of Pardew? If yer asking me Tom, perhaps Lee Clark. He's doing well with Huddersfield, and he might do well in the premier league with premier league players. Plus he's a Geordie. He might aye, then again he might not. He's had no prem experience before so at least we can't say he's flopped at the top level. Shame he'll have no more money to work with than Pardew though, eh? Genuinely unfathomable people are saying get shut of Pardew after a defeat away at Anfield. Ive said it since I saw who his favorite players is... Yes I realise that but that doesnt make you clairvoyant, you just talk shite with all due respect, I was referring to the more generalist response in this thread, which is a massive knee-jerk. -

W 'Way too much respect' is just another way of saying we should have tried to play playground football against them. It's not how football works when you're a small squad trying to play to your strengths and nullify an opposition. You can look at it another way and say we normally give them no respect (ie go there and think we can just play a nice passing game, get dicked, shit ourselves and then fuck off home like good little boys) We weren't great but we were in a position to get something out of the game when we brought HBA on and that's not as bad as everyone's making out. -

Best he's not on the field whenever the opposition are in the ascendancy then eh? Just try and keep a sense of perspective ffs. It's a team game, it lasts for 90 minutes and he came on when we had a (theoretical) chance of winning. -

Not read the thread as I was out for the match but who said that? Anyone who thinks we'd have had a different result going all out attack from the first whistle. We'd have had a different score maybe (about 5-0 I reckon) but the result wouldn't have been any different. We didn't play particularly well but we played a game that still had us in with a chance going into the 2nd half when we brought HBA on. As he's so massively important (according to the majority on here) that's not an horrendous state of affairs by any means given the context of our 18 Premiership visits to Anfield. -

Same here, I fancied we could get something too mate, but I'm not getting all menstrual that we didn't. To do that you have to buy into the 'we should be more adventurous' Sky dogshit (we'd have been 3-0 down at half time if we had) and have complete amnesia about our entire Premiership record at places like this. We might have had a point another day but we weren't robbed so theres no injustice or owt, I can live with that and put it into the correct context. -

Yep. In addition the Sky coverage was cringeworthy as fuck from the start. They may aswell have called it ''The Liverpool show'' rather than entertain the illusion that they were concerned with another club. For the record I don't think Colocinni's elbow was at all deliberate as he couldn't see that Bellamy was there. Nice of sky to highlight it for the F.A though Not seen it from all angles but for me it wasn't raised in the offensive way, it was as much to do with their relative height discrepancies as anything, exacerbated by their starting positions in going for the ball. Not got a massively strong opinion on it til I've seen it more comprehensively though. Anyone thinking this is somewhere we usually go and pick up an easy 3 points is tripping tbh. We get dicked here almost every season because we go and play naive football and then shit ourselves. Unless you're Brazil 1970 or Man C 2011 it's all about not having pissed it up the wall within 5 minutes of the first whistle and still being in it as a contest going into the 2nd half and. We did that and another day we'd have had something. That's largely how we've got our points this season away from home. -

Ah well, hard luck. Scored first, were still in it going into the second half, brought our attacking threat on then (all the basics you've got to do to get anything away at the 'top' teams)...we had a game plan and that's all I'm looking at tbh. Never a free kick for their second, we nearly equalised when it was cleared off the line and their third was lucky going through Krul's legs. We're complete pussies at places like this (seven losses on the belt, first time we've scored since '04, never won since our first season up 17 years ago) so you've got to have a system and that's my main concern and I'm content that we did. Commentators talking the usual shit about us 'maybe should be more adventurous'/'Liverpool have only drawn most of their home games' but really all that is is code for saying they'd love another 4-3 (which they never fucking shut up about). Go fuck yourselves tbh, our job isnt to come and entertain the neutral and then roll over, we're here for what we can get. Telling comment was in the first half from Smith commentating "Newcastle with a great work ethic thise season". Yes we have and I'm proud of it tbh but I'll tell you what it's disgusting it's so comment worthy to start with. It is comment worthy because we don't normally have that, we go to these places and others and shit ourselves and roll over. Balls, it was ok for me, we'd have had a point another day. -

To be fair he only signed up for RAWK on 2nd Feb, just after Suarez signed, so he's possibly just an Ajax jumpship/dual fan/Suarez fan (or whatever). Lots of foreign based fans seem to get involved with English clubs that way.

Put it another way, I think we've got one outstanding defender and three sub-standard defenders. When it's Taylor I think it's only one outstanding defender and a par defender. I'm under no illusion about the fact that a solid defence is the absolute foundation of any competitive side and I think Pardew appreciates that too. I think he's got a midfield thats set up to help protect it's defence principally and just press the opposition as relentlessly as possible. B Arfa definitely won't do that. That doesnt mean there shouldnt be a role for him, there should, but I don't know you 'build a team around him' right now. He will get more game time anyway due to other absences so it'll come. For me Pardew knows he needs to strengthen his defence. I hope Santon becomes great for us, I'm gutted Enrique fucked off, but whatever happens I think defence will be the focus and probably rightly so. When you've got better defenders you can attempt to play more flowing attacking football, but he'll do it in that order. -

How is it you can spell 'hubris' and not 'football'? We're not going to agree so fair play, I just think you're being massively unrealistic. We could attempt cavalier football and maybe that'd make you happier but we'd be in the relegation mire if we did I've little doubt about that. We dont have any money to compete and we never win anything anyway traditionally so perhaps I'm just happy with small signs of progress and building. I know that could all be wiped out in an instant, I'm not a simpleton, but it doesnt mean you shouldnt acknowledge it if it is in fact happening. Not in my book anyway. -

That Arsenal lot are pretty shit to be fair. Arsenal were in the middle of a crisis with Nasri leaving as well as the void from fabregas causing panic. They conceded 4 goals to and lost to blackburn ffs, and had a string of games which made arsenal fans call for Wengers head and relegation talk. We met them at the best possible time and only managed a draw at home. Since then they have obviously gone on a win streak with Van Persie hitting form, but why am I reciting history to you. Are you living in a cave without internet and cable-tv? Why are you massively obsessed about beating the 'best' teams? Theres about 5 of them and they have pots of money we can't even dream of spending. Theres 14 or so 'other' teams it's far more important to get results against (ie about 3 times as many points to be won) and NUFC typically turn in absolutely gutless displays to lose to them even when we've been flashing the cash ourselves. That's where we've always largely been an 'also ran' club. Man U can lose to the top teams every season and still win the Prem more often than not simply because they always win the games they 'should' win. That's by far the better marker. This team was expected to be relegated not long back and now you're only happy to take any signs of progress from 3 points gained in a glamour fixture. Get a grip you Norwegian gimp. How long have you been watching the Toon? We've not even done badly against the 'top' teams ffs. You mean teams such as Norwich, Swansea and WBA? Yes, precisely and all the other ones we got points against. Do you not see my point? -
