Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
manc-mag replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
Actually get the feeling he feels he's been backed as much if not more than he anticipated he would. I don't think he personally feels like he's been let down or been disappointed at all, because we all know the talks when he took over will have essentially gone along the lines "You will have absolutely no say in what is spent and who is kept". He's not thick, his one man crisis press cons are a big part of his job and he knows it. And in terms of 'would anyone else take the job if he were to walk?' then yes there's an endless supply of managers who would, most of them shite. I can stomach Pardew the manager given the context of who the employer is, I just wish he would find coded but obvious ways of acknowledging to the fans that we can basically whistle for a striker. That sort of 'honesty' would go a long way I reckon. I actually think he could find ways of doing that if he was a bit more articulate but alas he isn't.- 10610 replies

Getting sigged. Any idiots still think he, Enrique or Nolan left this club for more money? Is it sinking in, morons? We sold our best player for 35 million, have never replaced him, and have not spent even one penny of the money we received for him. Not one penny. Ashley has pocketed all but 300k of the Carroll money, advertising, sponsorships, the PL money, and the TV money. Get that through your thick skulls. The owner that the Ashley apologists venerate has fleeced the club for far, far upward of 35m and continues to do it. He and Dekka are laughing right now at our expense. Santon? Great signing. You still don't get it, though. If he comes good, he's getting sold on deadline day for 20 mil, and we'll have more panic bids for players we're never going to land, and then more excuses like 'we had a few irons in the fire but just couldn't get them over the line, we weren't held to ransom, we'll be back to spend in January/August/January/etc.' This club is going absolutely nowhere except down. How many seasons do you think we'll stay up when our owner plainly couldn't give a shiny shit about seeing us succeed? With respect, everyone gets this bit of the picture. Daft to suggest otherwise. ...I don't want to drag up quotes, but I will if I have to... Everyone's for sale. I've said as much myself and don't know who you're referring to exactly ref: quotes, but if you want to quote then go ahead.

How low must have our offer been for Fulham to beat it? Just says it all really. Was all just for show. The thing for me is with any deal where figures of £10 million plus are bandied about, we're just not a serious potential employer anyway. Assuming the absolute best case scenario, (which is to believe that £12 million was put on the table), where does that logically get you? A £12 million player is unlikely to accept wages of £40-£50k per week (our top whack); the very fact of you're agreeing a £12 million valuation means that the player himself will demand wages that are commensurate with that valuation. His agent will have all that info. My point is, without getting into the debate about whether Ashley has any intention of spending 'the Carroll millions', players above a certain transfer price just aren't an option anyway due to the wage structure we operate. He won't break that, which means that even if he were prepared to part with £15 million a time in acquisition fees, it's incredibly unlikely we could get that type of player to agree personal terms. The entire philosophy requires the acquisition cost to be a low or susbtantively deflated one. In no way is that an excuse for not bringing any striker in, however. That excuse simply does not exist in this window. Disgrace.

Please CT, I know it won't make a tuppeny jizz difference to your 'positive' outlook generally, but when it specifically comes to Ashley/Llambias having any regard for the needs of the team, you're not entitled to give them the benefit of the doubt anymore. What has just happened on the striker front is utterly without justification given the myriad options available to us since January. Pardew's management, the club's finances, our chances in the next game, how many cheeseburgers you can eat at halftime; carry on with your positive outlook by all means, but not when it comes to assuming the actual needs of the team will be afforded any kind of priority. They've sold the entire team short today by not bringing a forward in. The amount of wasted energy and creativity this season in getting the ball into shooting positions which will just not translate into goals hardly bears thinking about. Completely inexcusable even on a modest budget.

There are four hours left and Gregs is closed now, it's about to get exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we're linked with Cole, when we don't sign him, it'll be like a new signing.

No-one. Just typical that St Etienne went for Gradel, knew it was too much to ask for one more thing to go our way. I'm really worried now. Tecato's going out of his tree. Let's notch this shit up some more.

An actual 'gift' isn't a tax dodge unlike what he was on about. I'll have a look at the playlist first mate before you go to any trouble, be my evening listening. Cheers.

Match fit for next week btw??? Barton and Bellamy lining up against us for their first game? Not liking that, we'll have to be up for it from the fucking first whistle

Look at Demba Cisse's stats on wiki 22 in 32 bundesliga games last season and 4 in 3 this season, Freiburg are shite too, get him signed. 10m euro's is what £8.5m, and Frieburg want £13m, fucking pay it, 26 goals in 36 games in one of the top leagues in Europe, playing for relegation strugglers, total no brainer. If you're reading, pay it you fat bastard! Would be a class line in a ransom film. Dislocated Geordie voice over a telephone.

Yes, I remember reading something along these lines by some Kant... You don't read it, you sing it. It was to the tune of 'That's Amore' -

Define 'something big'. Do you mean someone recognisable in addition to Maiga? That's simply too vague to stomach watching you try and take credit for later as things stand.

He's here to what? Must be paying him in lottery tickets. See your picture That would require a quick relegation first. -

Gut instinct, but I would also add that it probably assists that a player knows they've been actively scouted. Gives them the right impression about the club doing their homework from the start and it's a compliment at the end of the day. Got to be better than phone calls out of the blue with a youtube soundtrack playing in the background.
