Would take Campbell if we signed another centre back aswell. We only really have 2 centre backs going into next season.

I have doubted Owen signing a new contract long before we even knew who Chris Mort and Mike Ashley were. Get the feeling Leazes would prefer us to lose Owen to prove a point.

Call it "Rimshot" you will get people in who know music and you may also get a few sales off the local perverts who have got the wrong idea. -
Yeah they can but they can also fail. At the moment we have someone who we know can do a job for us in this league. If we had 2-3 other strikers who we knew were more than likely to be fit for a lot of the season and perform well in this league I would be happy to take the gamble but as we don't at the moment I don't think its worth the risk.

Problem is signing the better replacement. We have seen in the past signing players from abroad can be a gamble no matter how huge they are and as Martins is our only reliable striker (fitness wise) we would have to be certain his replacement can do it in this league. There aren't many players who I think we could realistically attract in this league that would be better than Martins. I like the look of Santa Cruz but even he has a poor history in regards to injuries and would be more of a replacement for Viduka than Martins.

I get the feeling Parky wants a coffee -
I think Owens age will have the opposite effect tbh, he has tried it abroad, he didn't really like it so came to us. I can't see him risking what he has left again.
-
Owen wont move abroad again so we don't need to worry about him buying out his contract.

As long as we spend that money on someone who is better than Martins. He does have a lot of flaws in his game but he also has a lot of plus points, I think we will need to sign at least one more striker anyway so I wouldn't want to have to sign 2 who are guaranteed to fit in straight away. We know Martins is a decent (sometimes very good) player in this league so it would be a huge gamble replacing him especially with Viduka and Owen being injury prone and Carroll not being ready. IMO he is our only reliable striker going into next season. I am not convinced Owen will keep this run of fitness up.

Aviva are starting to bring their call centres back to the UK again. A reason has never been given but hopefully other companies will follow suit.

May I add we lost out to Middlesborough for Huth and Woodgate: http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcast...-name_page.html Should we not have beaten them to these signings Leazes?

http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...st&p=461036 If you're gonna plagarise my posts you could at least credit me. sorry I did say earlier it had already been spelt out and shouldn't need to be spelt out again, infortunately it did and was still dismissed. People need to get a reality check and realise we aren't as attractive as we were a few years ago, just because we have the potential to be fighting for European places we need to prove ourselves before players buy it.

You need to stop living in the past and see what is happening now Leazes. The whole Leeds/Bolton thing was an example of this but as you like to say "no surprise you miss the point". So in the summer a player would have been a "total wanker" to sign for Bolton over Leeds because Leeds is the bigger club? Unfortunately players don't just think "wow 52,000 fans" other things come into their thinking and dismissing what Tottenham have to offer at the moment is being very naive. You seem to think they have no spending power and we have a divine right to beat them to any transfer (and people slate Liverpool fans). Spurs have shown recently they have a lot of spending power, the only thing we do have over them at the moment is the crowd but they have more going for them than us at the moment. If you honestly think a 22 year old from Croatia is going to take into consideration what we were doing years ago then you are again being very naive.

They are in Europe next season, we aren't. They have a very highly rated manager in Europe, as much as we like Keegan I doubt he is seen the same throughout Europe. They have won a cup this season. I really don't know how you can dispute (or in your words claim its "utter bollocks") any of this. Ok we do have a big crowd but I don't think that compensates for everything else Spurs can offer at the moment. They are hardly struggling for money either.

Leeds have done more than Bolton in the last 10-15 years but I doubt many players will think about that. They will look at where the club is NOW and unfortunately we have been shit for a number of years. More highly rated manager. European Football. Cup winning season. Based in the capital. As much as you want to argue about the whole "5th best club" etc etc.. the fact is right now they are a more attractive club. If we had replaced Robson with a manager who was even close to his level then maybe it would be a different story and we can't blame that on Ashley and Mort.

Is Triggy a WUM? Dunne is easily worth £5m even if he is in the last year of his contract.
