Our talent scouts are paid thousands so I don't see why I should have to provide a response. If they do their job properly they'll be able to find cheap players that are better than Shola. Benni McCarthy and Mpenza are just a couple of this season's examples that half-decent strikers can be picked up on the cheap. We only have one Scout, that is a problem that has already been identified and should be rectified soon. I just feel you are being over harsh on Ameobi simply because you don't like him and you are failing to see that he is capable of doing a job and the defence must be our priority. No I've just explained that I feel that our lack of attacking strength puts pressure onto our defense. We could (not realistically) sign terry and ferdinand, but if we've got not attacking outlet, terry and rio would be under the kosh all game and we'd concede goals and our defense would still be shit. I'm not being harsh on Shola because I don't like him, I've just listed the strikers of the top 5 clubs in the country and every single one of them is better than Shola. How can you dismiss that evidence and accuse me of victimizing him? How can you dismiss Sholas goal record under Roeder this season and last season? Because it's over such a short period of time that I'm not fickle enough to change my opinion of him over that short period after witnessing years of him proving that he is extremely limited ability wise? Even in those games where he fluked a handful of goals, he still never put in anything other than average performances. Of course we could give him another 5 years to prove he's shit then everytime he has a little purple patch we can convince ourselves that he's up to it. Shola had a little honeymoon purple patch under the new manager where a few bounced in off his knees. He's fucking shit and it's unbelievable that we're going to have to endure another season of it without anyone at the club acknowledging his shitness. He is going to be 3rd choice behind Martins and Owen, name me a player we can get, with our tight budget and the need for defenders who is going to come here and be second fiddle to Martins and Owen, he also offeres us another option to Martins and Owen. The critsism Ameobi gets from some is just stupid. He is a decent squad player, he has always had the ability to score goals just needed to be more consistent, he has scored goals in the Camp Nou away to Barcelona and away to Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League to name a few, under Roeder he has shown some consistency and I hope he can carry that on when he returns from this injury. He can be frustrating to watch but selling him would do us no good when we need to focus most of our spending on the other end of the pitch this summer. We're aiming for top four?
