  1. No. I wouldn't put him at right back either. I MIGHT trust him at a DM spot (he's no Viana) but I don't think I'd see him anywhere but CB. Might do a job up front late in a match though.
  2. Aye, I've seen every one of his 17 caps for the US. The kid's a beast. He's 6'2" 180 lbs. He's got quite a lot of potential and has realized a fair amount of it. 'Gooch' is one of the most popular players currently in the US Squad, having had most of the "chuch norris facts" attributed to him at one point or another. He's famous for 'staring down' Jared Borgetti at a world cup qualifier in 2005. In this region, most teams will kick you when down, pinch you in the ass etc, to get a rise out of you. Gooch looks like the kind of guy they could rile up so they went after him but just got the stare. He's a hell of a player, but I don't want him here. We'd just ruin him. He's SO leaning away from him in that pic, looks like he's bricking it tbh. Gotta look at it in full motion to get the real idea of it, tbh. I'lll see if I can find it on youtube.
  3. Definitely. Hell, I'll be buying a new kit soon as I find out what number he'll get.
  4. I thought so too tbh One of three of our players to do so....

  6. He'd be a terrific signing, but news over here is that he's already signed with l'OM
  7. Stuck up anglo-philes who think that all things British are superior.
  8. It's on 9 channels here. Says it all tbh.
  9. Might have something to do with the Danish league having a break until March since last November... ... and the US league having been on Break since October? Edit: October, not September. Sorry Touché I'd still rather judge a player by the performances in his league or especially in the Championsleague than in a meaningless friendly in the mid of the winter break. I would tend to look at the Champion's League ahead of a friendly as well, but he was totally undone by any kind of speed all day--he'd get murdered in the premiership.

  11. Absolute shite against the USA last week. Made to look quite ordinary by several players on their international debut.

    Sobering

Sobering is realizing that when Mozart was your age, he was dead.
  13. College Football is the closest sport in this country comes to 'passion' from its fans.
  14. And why has the bloke on the badge got two daggers in his heid? They're not daggers. They're cutlasses. Why's he got them in his heid though? It's quicker than watching the damn sport?

  16. For the most part, yes. To the extent that their games cause me a parking headache, I root against the Minnesota Vikings. It is ok if you're watching it on DVR and can fastforward past all of the time-wasting. A 60 minute game taking upwards of 3 hours is ridiculous.
  17. It is my theory that, by and large, trends such as those being discussed in this thread generally tend to follow from the 5th year in a decade, not the 0th--i.e. 1975-1985, 1985-1995 etc. It's a work in progres.s
  18. He has in point of fact. He was an assistant coach with the Mexican National team in Germany, though I'm not certain what he's up to now that LaVolpe got the sack.
  19. One of the more exciting privileges I got from being a color comentator for my local club was to get the opportunity to talk briefly with Romario last year during the World Cup. For someone who is so unhumble publically, I have to say that he was quite down to earth when I spoke with him. It was during the first round that I spoke to him and he predicted that Brazil would win it (unsurprisingly.)
