  1. That's a disgrace like. But totally to be expected from that shower of shite.
  2. I think we do have more scouts than it sounds. It's just that Carr is head of recruitment and has more power than your run of the mill scout so he's talked about a lot more.
  3. You see the bit I disagree with is that he shouldn't be blamed for the policy. His role at the club is not just one of a normal scout. He's head of recruitment and has a place on the board. He has a voice to be heard. On that basis he has to be part of formulating the policy. Yes he will have a budget enforced on him but he will be a large part of the decision making process on how it's spent. The policy we have is flawed on almost every level. You buy young kids with little experience and they don't know how to deal with problems like seasoned pros do. This leads to the team struggling and those players not reaching their potenial and full value. You just buy players who become available at the right price regardless of where they fit into the team and this leads to playing midfielders leftback, having no natural width on one or both wings or playing with two sweepers rather than a sweeper and stopper. This leads to the team struggling and players not reaching their potential and full worth. Even as a money making exersise it doesn't work. And less so as a footballing exercise. Yes you keep saying that we don't know where on the list of players Carr puts forward but I'll repeat, if they're on the list he's recommending them.
  4. If a players on a list that Carr has produced, he's been recommended by him. I don't care how far down the list he was. He should never have been on a list. Neither should Cabella, Thauvin, Amalfitano, Anit etc. They're clearly either unsuited or not good enough. I don't expect a 100% hit rate but these are such obvious issues you have to wonder what he was looking at when he scouted these players. Clearly his goals aren't set right because he should have been recommending Payet not Thauvin. But I personally believe that he is one of the people setting the parameters he's working to. I really don't believe that Ashley by himself has come up with the policy of only under a certain age and I don't beleive Charnley has a clue one way or the other. For me, it's Carr that has as much sway as anyone when it comes to determining policy. Even players like Mitrovic who I do believe can be a good player, is a bad signing because we're expecting a young kid coming from playing in the Belgian league to lead our line. We shouldn't be doing that. We're more likely to ruin him as a player than him bang in 15 goals.
  5. Tried it last night. Seems really good. I don't use Kodi much for live TV mind (other than sports).
  6. This is it. McClaren and Carver (probably the king too) never seemed to have the players respect and certainly couldn't organise them.
  7. His complete lack of commitment prevents him from being a good player. Of course the coaches deserve blame, I'd never deny that. But Carr and Charnley are part of the whole package. For us ever to move forward Charnley, Carr, McClaren, Beardsley, Watson, Colo, Sissoko all need to be shipped out as soon as posible. Obviously I hate Ashley too but I do think he could change his approach without having to invest his own cash, and move us forward. But while those incompetent or gutless people are still involved with the club in their current roles it will never work. I also want to point out that I have no expectation of Ashley changing just that it is possible.
  8. I wouldn't pay £2.50 for Sissoko. I think his attitude is a cancer throughout the team so I'm never going to conceed that he's a good signing or a bargin. Mbemba has played well but I don't see him coming in at that much as a bargin. Gini is market value for me. I also don't think it's a scouts job to build a team. But I think that's the job that Carr is supposed to be doing. And yes he may have identified Aubamayang and Lacazette but he also identified Riviere. You can't praise him for picking our players we didn't sign and absolve him of the shite we have. Of course Charnley has to conclude deals and we all know he's fucking hopeless but Carr doesn't get a free pass from me. He might be a good scout and if that was his only role then fine. But it's clear that within our set up it's not.
  9. To say Sissoko is anything other than shit and a massive cunt is bigging that sack of spunk up far too much. I'll give you Perez but calling the rest (decent players they me be) bargains is ridiculous imo. And they're all internationals so it's hardly picking up unknowns is it. Janmaat and Debuchy had just played in major tournaments, Gini was player of the year in Holland. But the point remains we've not built a team or squad. That is job and he's 100% failed at it.
  10. Blame lies with both of them. Wherever they were on his list, the likes of Riviere, Anita, Abied, Amalfitano, Marvaux, Cabella, Thauvin etc were on there. None of those players should have ever been considered. I don't care how much they cost. And I don't buy that he's managed to get us loads of great deals. Cabaye and Ba yes but none of the others. We've paid the going rate or more for all of them.
  11. Yeah I agree with that but managers generally don't get the money players get. It's always struck me as a strange situation.
  12. As a board member he should be seeing the bigger picture
  13. I voted for Benitez but without any hope he would actually come. Is it possible to get someone like Benitez here? Yes I think it is. Is it possible for Charnley to get him here? Absolutely not!
  14. £4m a year sounds like a massive amount for any manager. Moyes was given a massive job and he failled at it. I can't believe he's expecting that sort of money. That said, we need a massive shift if we are to attract anyone decent. No one with anything about them is going to come in and be paid half the going rate and be forced to work under the conditions that we have put in place. Anyone can see they aren't working. I'm glad Shearer has come out and slammed Carr now. He was getting all sorts of praise because he 'found' the likes of Cabaye and Ba. But since those days he's made a succession of shit signings and failled to build a team or squad. Nothing will change as long as we keep going this way and the best we can hope for is someone to come in and give us a short term lift to keep us up. But then we'll be back to square one next season. Actually thinking about it relegation might be the best thing for us. Not because it will force Ashley out, but because it might force him to rethink how he runs us.
  15. That would work. Something offensive to the moral majority but that doesn't harm the kids (or anyone else). Something that puts the club in a bad light that he can take the fall for.
  16. For fucks sake there's people not watched it yet. I am thoroughly disgusted in you!
  17. Would we accept some sort of scandal to force Penfold to resign? Obviously one that didn't involve the abuse of a child!
  18. When I said society I thought it was obvious I wasn't including Sunderland.
  19. He should have been sacked the minute he submitted the team sheet with Riviere starting. And if not then, when he brought another defensive midfielder on when we were a goal down.
  20. I'm surprised any Christian church is still going in this country. I don't think I've ever met anyone under the age of 60 who goes for anything other than births, marriages and deaths. I've got a few mates who were raised catholic and not one of them sets foot in a church. Surely society has reached a level now where we can dispense with witchcraft and noncery.
  21. If only our current regieme would go to such lengths to bring in a manager now! Congrats to all on the bairn btw.
  22. I enjoyed Room. It's certainly the best of the Oscar bait films you've seen Chez. Although those other three are all decent. Don't really think it was a great year for the Oscars. Spotlight was my favourite of the nominations and I'm glad it won. Likewise with the lass in Room getting the best actress award.
