Aye, that we could think that we could get £10m for a player who has been injured for most of the last two seasons and had a couple of season where he struggled to score and then pay the same for someone who's just come in a scored 17 goals for a team who got relegated beggars belief. If we had as proven a player as Austin and another who looks a decent bet to score, along with SDJ, Perez and even Riviere you'd be pretty content to sell Cisse at this stage of his career. But there's absolutley zero faith in the club to follow through with their own promises.

That's just a wind up. Although nothing would surprise me with this club.

That's probably why we're after him. We'll think it'll mean we can get him on the cheap.

I'm quite certain we'll make signings but I seriously doubt it will be any of the names (such as Austin) that people are getting excited about. We won't pay the going rate for anyone. We have our own method of valuing a player and it always results in us wanting him for a lot less than the other club will let him go for. The only way it works is if the player is out of contract shortly/has a release clause or the other club is in the shit. It's no way to run a business and it's no wonder that we're all laughing at Charlnley. -
Those stats show a clear reason why we would be happy to sell him. He's not available enough to score enough goals and he's playing less and less each season. The fact that we don't have anyone else who can score means that despite that, we can't really afford to let him go. Unless we sign a proven player I think we'd be mad to take the risk that we'll have no one to score goals next season. But it's more likely that we will take a risk like that than it is that we'll sign Charlie Austin. Isn't Thauvin more a wide player by the way?

Players like Riviere and Armstrong didn't do a job last season which is one of the reasons we were near relegation. I would say Perez did a job and the other two were bearly fit. SDJ isn't really a sriker either. I agree with your analysis of centre half (although Taylor is better than Dummett and we also have Lascelles now) so that's equally important. I'm a bit concerned at the lack of names being mentioned for that position and the ones who are, are not established players in a top division. They might be good (I don't really have any idea of them) but we need an established player to come straight in. -
Erm maybe when I get back to the office. Fucked if I know how to do it on tapatalk

Haha sorry. Given that we're discussing GOT surely NSFW is already implied. The whole show is based on tits!

He's still got With him. I wouldn't be in a hurry to get back to the plot if I were him

Think we had Perez, Colback, SDJ & Riviere in around about this time last season. Janmaat & Cabella came after the world cup and the Forrest signings were later too. Can't remember our signings from the previous summer! I'm not panicing at all but we could do with bringing players in before training starts. I still think we will be forced to so that we can try and get some more tickets sold. -
Nah I don't buy that. I'm all for them going off course because it means we get two different tracks but I just can't see them changing something so fundemental to the story as a whole.
-
Aye I agree with that. There are no POV's of characters brought back from the dead (Dondarrion or LSH) so that's another reason why I don't think he'll be brought back like that. They need to have him as a POV you're right but they could use a couple of chapters of other POV's if he's out of action for a bit like Bran was in the first book.

Not having Carver in charge was enough for me. But since I'm on the auto renewal in February(?) it was more appointing someone other than Carver made me not cancel the DD. -
I'm not convinced of that. His last word in the book is Ghost which suggests the Warg option is more likely. Plus when Thoros resurects Dondarrion and Lady Stoneheart they lose some of what made them what they were before. I can't see the writer wanting to go that way with Jon Snow/Targarian as he's the main hero in the whole story. Although Mel arriving back at the wall just before the stabbing occurs does suggest she plays a role. I'm interested to see where they go with Stannis after this. I'm assuming he's not dead since it makes no sense to kill him half way through an episode and not show it. I doubt the Greyjoy subplot will make it to the show as they've not set it up at all and it could well slow dragon tits journey to Westerous down even more. I don't see Griff and young Griff making an apperance now either.

You mean you didn't know Ned comes back as a white walker and tells John Snow that his mother was actually Cersei already?

Anyone know what the equivalent job in Sports Direct pays? I'd bet it's a hell of a lot more! -

There's a reason why he's being paid peanuts compared to the others in his position. For all I'm happy we have some football knowledge on the board now, the fact that he's the one negotiating all our deals means we might as well have Lee Ryder trying to sign players for us! -

Aye I know only too well you need have working capital. We shall see but my point was really that we spent in the region on £25m (going by reported transfer fees) when we were apparently in a less advantageous financial position. I don't think think it's unreasonable to think we could spend up to £30m this summer. But what will £30m get you? Two strikers and then how do be bolster the rest of the team? £30m isn't enough to really do what is needed to our squad. -

Darlow and Lascelles were last summer not over a year ago. And I was just going on the widely reported figures for Cabella and Riviere. I have doubts Cabella was as much as has been said (anything up to £12m) but around £10m seems to have been the settled upon reported figure. -

Of course he can. We were talking what was spent in the summer. But if that's what you're basing it on then we have £30m + to spend based on the cash we have (could well be quite a bit more than that now depending on the timings of the cashflow). Fwiw I think your overall point of us not spending enough to make the changes required, and us missing a trick is right. But I still think our net spend will be more than your suggesting in doing that. -

And money back for Mbiwa and Santon. But none of that happened last summer.
