I don't see anything wrong with him coming out with stuff like that to wind them up. For all of his faults he was always passionate about us and just like the rest us that follows on to him not being able to stand them. And after the ridiculous we wish you were dead chant, I think he's fully justified in saying he hates them.

No matter how good a manager is, he's not going to be able to get shit footballers playing like world beaters. A good manager can do exactly what Rafa has been doing and set us up to win games. If he's allowed to buy better players he will be able to get them to play better stuff. He's never going to set us up like Keegan but with players with more ability I'm fully confident we'll be much better to watch while still being difficult to beat.

I'm not at all convinced he knows that any other club interested in him would give him complete control. It's a very rare thing these days and I don't think he would necessarily expect it at the clubs you mention (I don't think West Ham thrilled Bilic with their signings last summer). I also don't believe for a minute that Arsenal would be in for him if Wenger goes. As for the original question, I do think his relationship with Charnley/Ashley was harmed in January. It seemed obvious after the QPR game that what he'd expected to happen didn't. If it had been completely broken though, I don't think he'd have stayed. So I do think there's a reasonable chance he will stay in the summer but there's no way anyone can be confident Ashley won't pull the rug out from under us. To have any sort of hope of being competitive in the premier league I'd say £60m would be an absolute minimum spend we could possibly get away with (if we still have £30m from this season then we should be able to have more than double that next season if we go up) and if Rafa gets less than that he will go.

Beardsley could certainly do things Shearer wouldn't even dream of doing and was without doubt better to watch. But Shearers stats alone speak for themselves.
-
Aye it was after he tweeted that I managed to watch it. I'd been looking for it on Kodi without any luck but it's on iplayer under the Storyville section. As is A Letter To Zachary.

Did we ever get out of that realm? -
I agree with the choice of Shearer but I disagree that Pedro is a better footballer. He may have been more skillful, but Shearer was the better all round player. I still maintain that Shearer could have played for England in any position that he put his mind to playing. Of course David Kelly shits on them both for importance.

I see Saylor is winding them up a treat today.

Damn I knew they'd be discovered one day. -
For anyone who enjoyed Making A Murderer and The Jinx, Death On The Staircase is also very good. I'm only about halfway through but the amount of twists in the case is staggering.

I didn't know you had pictures of me. -
I know you didn't intend this as a serious suggestion but I wonder what people think would be the effect of moving out of the city centre. Personally I would hate the idea, I love the fact that we are in the heart of the city. But I think it could actually reduce our attendances (maybe not at first but over a period of time). I'm sure there would be a large section of the crowd who would just stop going if they couldn't just step straight out of the ground into the countless city centre bars. You could argue that some of these people only go to the match now to go on the piss and and they are adding nothing to the support these days (I know people with season tickets who turn up late and leave at half time nearly every match so they can get pissed) and they could be replaced by supporters who genuinely want to go to support the team. I don't believe that's true though and you can see with what it's been like at West Ham (or even Spurs for their games at Wembley) and the atmosphere is terrible.

Aye I've thought this for years. It's a lovely thing for a young kid to get to do when everything is going well but when the game is edgy the fans (understandably I suppose) get really impatient, and kids of that age shouldn't be put in that position. I couldn't understand people booing at half time. It used to be that booing was reserved for a real lack of effort on the part of a player but now it's common place whenever anything doesn't go right. The east stand has always had a reputation for a lack of noise (unfairly a lot of the time) but it's all over the ground now. I think the size of the ground actually works against us in that sense because it seems to be difficult to get the whole ground singing in time even when things are good.
