You are the only one saying that people are so no suprises that you agree with yourself. Not surprised you forget what you have said. You sure as hell can't remember what anyone else has said so why should you remember what you have said yourself. Or was it the others again Leazes? Answer the question. Typical. Pipe down. Answer the question. Pocketing the cash etc. where is the Carroll money ? You're an out of towner, that knows fuck all. Say something, or say nothing. I know that good strikers are worth more than £3 or £4 million. apparently Mike Ashley thinks that's all they cost. BA cost nothing, does a price tag or performances make a player? -

"anyone but Fred would do better than this". Still waiting, while people suck up to Ashley and insist he has and is doing better. So show me the league positions ? Who, anywhere has said this about Ashley? Maybe the apologists that didn't exist in the thread you started. Prove it or shut up, simple ah, you're a newcomer. That explains everything. Answer the point and provide evidence, if you want to constantly say people are saying Ashley is doing better then provide examples or admit its not true and stop saying it -

Of course we are a selling club, surely even you can see that. Do you think we will build on this season by keeping our best players and adding quality players to the squad in order to push on? Do you think Cabaye, Ba, Krul, Tiote, coloccini etc will all be here at the start of next season or do you think one or more will be sold and replaced by a cheaper alternative? Its obvious to anyone and everyone we are a selling club and to suggest otherwise is nonsense. Depends if massive bids come in(Carroll) or players close to the end of their contracts(Enrique) decide they want to leave. We cant compete financially with some clubs and if these clubs come in with the right bid, massive wages and will offer champions league and a title challenge then there's every chance they will be off. Arsenal lost two of their most influential players last year, if Arsenal can't keep players then it goes to show the state of football. It's upto the club to replace any player that leaves with a player of similar or better ability. I would say this has been done recently -

yes. Because, if you estimate we are 2 players from being a very good team, we sold 2 good players to Liverpool for starters. That makes us a selling club. We also let a good player go to QPR for nothing, and numerous others over the past few years - I just KNOW that you won't understand this "sell, replace and pocket the cash" policy as opposed to a "build and improve". You are even more mad if you think Mike Ashley is ever going to keep this core of players together and add the 2 more you say is needed to jump from "decent" to "very good", and THAT is precisely the point I am trying to explain to you. What a waste of time you are. You are a bit mental Leazes and there is no point trying to reason with you or even have a sensible debate. I'm just going to enjoy this run or flash in the pan as you call it and see where it takes us -

We sold players and we bought better ones cheaper, I would say we are maybe 2 players away from being a very good team. Is that a selling club?? -

see the bigger picture. See top players sold and the cash pocketed, and signings like Lovenkrands, Perch, Routledge, Obertan, Simpson......if you are happy with a "decent" team, that says everything about you and your awareness of NUFC, sadly. Give me one good reason why Carroll, Barton and Nolan should not still be at the club in addition to the signings of Ba and Cabaye ? Because Liverpool paid £35mil for Carroll, still makes me chuckle. Nolan and Barton wanted to hold the club to ransom for long, big money deals, which was never going to happen plus they could well have had a negative impact on the current bunch as they didn't get what they wanted Were they good enough reasons? Now, show me the evidence that Ashley has pocketed the cash and not used it to pay club expenditure -

He's a fucking cockend, he knows his argument has severe flaws, sitting 6th in the league and having better players in BA,Cabaye and Tiote than Carroll,Barton and Nolan. Noboby is saying Ashley is a good owner, nobody is predicting champions league but what we do have is a good side that's been built on a budget and people like Leazes would rather moan like fuck than admit we have a decent team that has been assembled by good scouting and prudent transfer dealings. -

you truly are a hopeless case. You saying the finances were sound when Ashley bought the club? I'm still waiting for you to show me where I said we would finish 4th as the wannabee accountant ie Toonpack particularly, doesn't answer the question, maybe you can tell us when exactly when a club that has the 14th biggest revenues in football needs to stop selling its best players and pocketing the cash, presumably to increase its spending power [i say presumably because we have not seen it], or else where is that money, and how much more revenue does it need exactly to not sell its best players and back their managers [to phrase it more simply for you ?] I would say, judging by what has been said, when the club can support itself. Pay wages, pay bills etc, just like any other business. That how Ashley is running it, its not exciting but its how it is. I'm sure he's still injecting cash too. £35 mil won't go along way in a football club although you are oblivious to the fact. On the football side tho things are a bit more rosey, we are sitting above big spending Liverpool in 6th after more than half the season, flash in the pan? I would give Pardew and the players more credit than that. Pocketing the cash? Has Ashley banked it and not put any of it into the club? Proof? Selling our best players?? Sold Carroll in what seems to have been the second best deal in the last few years. What was the best? BA on a free, pulled off by NUFC are these bad deals?? Offloaded a past his best Nolan, Joey Barton to QPR on 80k a week? Both terrible deals for the club? I think not. Got an Italian u21 international from Inter to replace Jose and tbh looks a fair replacement Cabaye, a France international and league champion with champions league experience, who has turned out to be a great looking player, how much was he? Tiote? A dutch league winner who along with Cabaye would walk into most of the top 6 teams Ben Arfa for £5m? I'm not an Ashley lover but you have to give some credit to what has been built at a low cost and accept we have a side that has earned its place in the top 6 so far sadly, european places on a consistent basis, are not dished out for having balance sheets, and consistent long term on the field performance - which DOES achieve it - is not achieved by selling your best players and pocketing the cash. Which of our best players do you mean and what's happened to the cash?? are you for real ? Seriously ? Yep, do tell -

We dodged the bullet there, though. The more shit players who turn us down, the better. if only everybody possessed such magnificent hindsight as you Could be a player who we have scouted, will fit into the team and has the right attitude like Cabaye or Tiote, may not be a big name but will add to the team Some may prefer shelling out £15mil and 100k a week on a 30 something looking for a pension -

Don't think it was a coincidence that when Ben Arfa came on we played more on the deck. Ameobi was a fucking disgrace today

Is the club making a profit? Do I take it from the pointless question that you agree with what I posted then? However hold on whilst I get my crystal ball you tool. As the last set of accounts released relate to the Championship season when we lost £17m I would guess at yes the club is making a profit and Fatboy will be cashing in his loans sooner rather than later. Its not just the figures tho, remember he gets a shit load of free SD advertising at SJP which would cost him a good lot of dosh if he had to pay for it. Parts of the initial post I agree with and also as I have stated numerous times every player has his price, £35m for Carroll for instance, I guess any bid north of £25m would be enough for Tiote,Colo,Cabaye etc. You seem to be in the school of thought, like Leazes, that we can keep players that want to leave and play C.L. football, or think they will anyway, like Carroll/Enrique did -
