  1. I do agree but looking at what some others have gone for isn't all that "crazy". I would have Milner long before players like Nugent (£6m), Chopra (£5m), Richardson* (£5.5m).... *Some will probably disagree but I think Richardson is vastly overrated. It's a problem of the English market in general and probably part of the reason for the national team still struggling. They had Markus Babbel (who used to play for Liverpool) as a co-commentator for the Inter-Liverpool match here and he made some critical but interesting remarks about how all the money is good and bad for English football at the same time. It's ridiculous just for example that for 8m on the continent you did get the likes of Toni or Klose last summer.
  2. Not that I do believe a iota of these made up rumours, but even to come up with the idea that Milner might be worth 8m is simply ridiculous.
  3. Howaythelads! A healthy 101 years. Party with Gemmill as special guest will take place outside I reckon...
  4. Was this a triple-whoosh or do you really not see the "problem"?
  5. We could have done with Spurs being focused on another game when we have to play them (though this really worked out against Liverpool...).
  6. A result on Monday would be brilliant, but the must win games are those at home imho.
  7. Think Sheffield on a whole is wank meself. I wholeheartedly concur. It's the one place I've been where muslims seem to integrate better than anywhere else, my observations anyway. Isnt that a good thing? Aye better than those women with veils feeling sorry for themselves cos their fannies are sewn up till they get married. We all piss and shite the same, and we are all equal, but if you are going to come to this country why come if you have absolutely no aspiration of adapting to the countries values, and culture? What about cunts who go Spain blah blah, to those people I say fuck off. Whenever I've been to Sheffield I don't know, the race thing seems really chilled, Leeds on the other hand oh dear. Thats what im saying, muslims who intergrate well are better than those who stick out like a sore thumb. Obviously, the same as any foreigners who come to this country not just muslims though. I mean why have fuckin Aussie bars in this country, they all come over here, slag the country off, slag our sports teams off, and build fuckin Aussie bars, and all congegrate in the same places ie Earls Court. Why come here and do that? To be fair, the same can be said about many English expats from my experience. I know but we're allowed to, people would be third world without us. Not the tall blond ones with blue eyes.

  9. serious question. are you optimistic about our survival chances, given our form this year? i don't think anyone is unduly panicing here... As grim as it looks at the moment, I think there are worse teams in the league. It's rubbish to pretend those teams behind us are suddenly becoming superiour sides. So yes, I think we will get more points than Bolton in the remaining games. If not then we deserve to go down.
  10. Just love the way we keep saying we should get something from these lesser teams FUCK!!!!!! we are one of the lesser teams for fucks sake .lets get real and admit we are in deep shite. And if we do get the dreaded drop dont expect us to jump straight back up as at the moment there are quite a few teams in the championship that are better than us.
  11. Worse than the likes of Amadady Faye, Boumsong or Luque? I'm everything but a fan of Smith because of his volatile style, but saying he is the worst signing of recent years is way over the top iyam. my opinion of course but i'd put smith on par with all of the above. he came with a big price tag, and as a striker not to have scored one goal all season, he'll be one of the main reasons why we go down (if we do). you won't stay up if your strikers don't score goals. Smith is a decent player playing crap in a crap team. He was just not what we needed when we signed him. I have no doubt he would perform better with the players around him doing better as well. The not scoring argument is a bit too simplistic for me. I wouldn't be bothered about his scoring record if his all around game benefited his striking partners, which actually was the case in some of the game he played up front. Anyway how many games did he play up front in total and against which teams?

  13. I still think nine points from the home games against Fulham, Reading and Sunderland should be enough. Problem is only that another poor result against Birmingham could put the state of confidence beyond repair. well; there's that and the fact that it'll probably put us in the bottom three. we need to keep this in our own hands. i wouldn't want to rely on other clubs dropping points to stay up It still wouldn't be about other team "dropping" points, but rather them not winning them. It's not like those teams potentially ahead of us having those points already more or less in the bag. Actually looking at Bolton's remaining games I can't see them winning too many points. So even if we drop into the bottom three after the Birmingham game it would still be very much in our own hands.

  15. He's played enough games up front and still not even got close to scoring, man. But even though I've never liked him as a player, I have to say Jonny is right when he says that Viduka deserves more criticism. Viduka put in some useful performances when he could be arsed though. I actually rather have moody or inconsistent players who at least occasionally give you value for money than players who get praise for "trying" or "caring".
  16. Hardly, the sack of shite should have been dropped in 2005. Bit harsh on Gemmill tbh.

  18. Hey guys, what's going on in this thread? [/baron von Fat]
  19. Ah, the mirror's oldrumours-o-mat is still switched to Allardyce-mode...
  20. I think it's your bedtime mate. All these GREAT threads look like it's gardening time for me...
  21. They could have scored 10 at home under the mighty Allardyce , the one who served up shit home performances and 1 pooint against the likes of Derby, Man City and Pompey. They even more ripped us to pieces than today. So who has the better crystal ball...
  22. Exactly, with the comfortable fixture list we had at the start of the season we should have been well beyond the 30 points mark at Christmas time. The fact that we now have a shit scared team totally lacking any kind of confidence and self-belief is very much down to the shit we served up against the likes of Derby, Wigan et al.
