  1. The home game against Liverpool under Allardyce was much worse than today's performance...
  2. Too many families there in my opinion. I mean IMO there is nothing wrong with swearing at the match its part and parcel of going, and god forbid singing too many families for terracing? not at all. I'd have two section, one behind each goal. Tickets would be less, but wouldn't be on sale on a match to match basis, it'd have to be a season ticket. Contracts drawn up absolving the club of responsibility (beyond a reasonable accountability). These terrace places would be offered to all current season ticket holders first, any families or infirm with seats in that area could be moved into the seats given up by those wanting terrace places. A little reshuffling and we could bring back a great atmosphere and satisfy the demands of the fans. Germany has terracing doesn't it? I think most continental leagues have. Back to topic: So the majority of us agree that all Keegan should get, would be a sack of money. I wonder if this is what Dan wanted to hear...
  3. Aye, sorry about that. We used to organize teams and that and he'd just randomly turn up (tip off?), full referee uniform and that. See, Dan just turns up, runs around like a rabbit on speed and shakes Papa L's hand a dozen times.
  4. Based on his penalty skills he is an England player in the making...
  5. It clashes with the Milan-Arsenal game. They are not allowed to play two CL games in the same city in the same week.
  6. Cool, cheers Meenzer. Take it Osborne Road is a decent area in terms of having to rush from the train station then back to St' James? The Metro station is on top of Osborne Road IIRC (or very close). To walk to SJP it's about 20-30 mins (again IIRC).
  7. There are several cheap ones in Jesmond, all in kind of walkable distance. I once stayed at the Bewick Hotel in Gateshead, very cheap, but ok. 5 mins to the Metro.
  8. After only 2 games in charge Keegans Newcastle started a run of scoring in 3 games on the trot. It was the first time in 2 months. Keegans Newcastle kept a clean sheet on his first game in charge. A feat achieved only once in 18 games prior. Michael Owen has scored as many goals in Keegans 6 games as he managed in all 22 games prior. Keegan hasn't lost a game to a team outside the top 7. Manager of the month tbh. Fop will be over the moon with this... ... and probably being the first one after reading this post as well.
  9. Yes, it looks like you are nowadays trying to be gloomy for the sake of it. We are in danger of getting relegated, sure, but we are not relegated yet. So what point do you want to prove in starting this kind of discussion?
  10. Gloom by name, gloom by nature... Feel free to bump this thread after we have been relegated, but I don't see any need to discuss this kind of hypothetical (or indeed hysterical) scenario right now...
  11. With selective enough statistics I can prove I was the first person on the moon, I'm sure. Hic Rhodos, hic salta.

    relegation

I've had a look at the fixure lists of some other teams. Especially Bolton have pretty difficult games to come up. If we are not able to beat the likes of Fulham etc. at home we deserve to go down anyway. I do have the strange feeling that we will get a decent result against Liverpool next week. With them having to play Inter a couple of days later and their indifferent Premierleague form this might be a good game to pick up confidence for the crunch games in the weeks afterwards.
  13. I guess they were the same that already made the round among Tottenham fans last week: "Eduardo Oooooohh Eduardo Ooooohhh, he had some silky skills, but now he's Heather Mills. Eduardo Oooohhhh"
  14. There weren't much better around apparently. A shame that life isn't as easy as computer games, eh... Some contrive to make it harder being my point. Get you! You can come up with all your repetitive nonsense again. The thing is that the winter market isn't providing a lot. It's not a cliché, it's a fact. Look outside of the Premier League (and there only the big teams) you don't see any significant signings at all. So where does your optimism that the club would have picked up anyone decent come from that would really have lifted the club and not only have added more mediocrity to the existing crap?
  15. There weren't much better around apparently. A shame that life isn't as easy as computer games, eh...
  16. I don't argue about Smith. But to expect that Carrol is doing much better than Owen it putting a lot of faith into a youngster who was struggling to make an impact in the Championship... Anyway with the game against Inter being put a week back I just hope that Rafa's rotation policy is doing us a favour. The games afterwards against Birmingham and Fulham will definitely decide the fate.
  17. Because the finishing other the strikers is so clinical? Thankfully all this relegation talk is just hysteria though. © Fop
  18. N'Zogbia on the bench. He was gash in the last couple of games though.
  19. Obesus means fat, doesn't it? I don't know. Was the rest close like? Yes. Porcorum is genitive plural though.
