I'll get some sort of disease mate, I'll not bother.

Has it gone now? Even 5s is a bit mental. I know they beat Man Utd, but Man Utd normally start slowly, they beat Villa 3-1, new team of younguns. We've got a chance without a doubt. They've got decent players, would you rather have Pienaar than Ben Arfa or Jelavic than Cisse etc etc I wouldn't. Hope the bookies look like mugs tonight. 433 though please "Pards".

Toon 7/1 to win now. Fuck me, we're playing EVERTON, a smaller more poorly supported club than us. Aye we've got injuries but 7/1!!! (SEVEN)
-
Spot on. People highlighting his very minor flaws are attempting to be clever imo. I wouldn't have swapped him for anyone other than Buffon 97-2005.
-
Agreed, and without a shadow of a doubt. The comments about his command of the area are MASSIVELY exaggerated, although his kicking was a minor deficiency.
-
One of the best 5 keepers there's ever been in the Premiership, certainly in terms of shot stopping. Sadly, he looks a pale shadow of his old self these days.
-
Fair comment you do - since Newcastle W17 Draw 9 Everton 13. I'd say that's a decent record for a club like Everton against us in the Premiership era.
-
"Why do Everton fans regard themselves as such a big club, given Fulham generate more money than them, West Ham average more, and there's no national interest in them at all?" Jagielka today "Newcastle massively overachieved last season", Everton have been the biggest overachievers in football history under Moyes given their non-existent resources, talk about rabbit out of a hat.

It looks too full even then the year before, look 0:38.

A lot of people forget that the Semi Final at Hillsborough the year before was also played between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest with fans in the same ends, almost on the same dates. So what was different? The only two things that were different to my knowledge were the police opened the gates outside, and they didn't shut the door leading to the centre pen. Lots of things caused the disaster, but that one simple thing would've stopped it, someone locking the centre pen (they did that the year before).

Everton regard us as a big game, they get one of their best there attendances against us every year, and under floodlights with the home crowd up for it, it won't be easy. Everton are a very English side in how they approach games, it will be high octane ball in the box stuff, and given the undoubted downer surrounding the club (imo) we'll do very well to win here. I'd have been confident of three points last season, because we've got better players than them, but they are not bad and are capable of beating anyone on their day. We need to attack them from the off with confidence if we do that we've got a chance, but this cautious approach we tend to use won't work there, I'd like to see us show we're there for the win from the start. 1-1.

A good one I watched was more a docufilm starring Ricky Tomlinson, gripping and harrowing at the same time. You'd enjoy it. Well not enjoy but you'd be fixated by it.

Whatever we think of scousers and Liverpool FC as a whole, the events at Hillsborough were almost exclusively not their fault. The facts are if this was us, the disaster would've unfolded the same way, if not even worse as we'd have taken many thousands of ticketless fans without a shadow of a doubt, and Liverpool didn't. We'd have the same grievances too, ffs some of our older ones still go on about Thatcher 21 years after she was chucked out of office.

Who is the most underrated player in the PL?

He was the best player in the SPL for at least 2 years, went to Villa and never really got a fair crack of the whip. -

He's nothing like Kevin Nolan, I think a better comparison is David Platt, and I think he is better than him. Nolan is about as athletic as Paul Wyn. -
Personally I don't think Wraith is making it up, been saying the same things myself for 6 weeks. This Wendy oh dear.

If you open your windows, and car windows right now, and turn the music down, you can hear a collective ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyym floating over the Pennines. In all fairness I hope it paints South Yorkshire police and Thatcher in the worst possible light.

Who do you as a Toon see as rivals and friends?
McFaul replied to 3bdelilah's topic in Newcastle Forum
They're not known for violence Sheffield Wednesday to be fair and they're not known for ever having an awesome firm. In the 70's and 80's Newcastle had as many as anyone else so we can't go slagging other sides off. Millwall, Chelsea, Newcastle, West Ham, Leeds, Cardiff, Man City and Boro were known as the worst, and we were all in Division Two in 1984, which is why it was known as the year of the hooligan. -

I remember that game we lost 2-0, long ball wankers. Warnock was manager iirc, and they wore hideous light blue shirts. They were much better than us though, Tommy Johnson, Gary Lund and Mark Draper (he was a fucking good player) tore us to shreds. I remember Bristol Rovers bringing a similarly annoying away following the same season "Gerry Frarrncis blue and white arrr rrr rrrrmy". -
Forster isn't a good keeper, which is why he plays for Celtic rather than Newcastle. Putting Butland there is a better option as he may develop Forster won't be far from his peak soon. Ruddy has been playing OK in the league, and I'd certainly even now regard Robinson as a better keeper, also Carson, Ben Foster, and Green.

I don't like Sunderland because we are their lives we really are, mackems are thick charvas in general and a huge representation of how neglected places become in a Southern-centric nation, and Liverpool is the same. I will say however, I get more satisfaction, a lot more, when Liverpool lose than when Sunderland do. -

Mine goes: Mackems/Liverpool Tottenham Everton/Rangers/Celtic/Villa Leeds/Boro/Man City/West Ham/Stoke Barcelona/Any Italian or Turkish team -
What's Fraser Forster done to deserve a call up Ant? Maybe in Belfast he gets a mention, but if he'd get more coverage if he was playing in League One over here, and be facing better strikers. He won't get a call up, because he's performing averagely at a medium sized club, rather than averagely at a big club like Liverpool where you get noticed. Italy have one of the best U21 sides in Europe without a doubt, first teams from Milan in there, but Ireland (with two sent off) beat them 2-4 over there last neet, mad result. Think England will win easily tonight 2-0 maybe, will be a shite game.
