  1. It’s not about scapegoating a player, Almiron is crap and always has been. I don’t like a player that has basically whiffed every chance of scoring goals outside of a 4 month purple patch, he also doesn’t contribute what people think defensively - Murphy is better in the press and in attack.
  2. Longstaff doesn’t bother me like he bothers some. I’ve always disliked watching Almiron tbh and think Murphy is a far better player. It’s not always just a ‘scapegoat’ being the reason a player is disliked, he misses an absurd amount of chances and contributes nothing in attack outside of that, plus his defensive contribution is massively overrated- Murphy is better in the press.
  3. A month or so ago they were all adamant they were getting play offs and giving us a hiding, did their usual sack the manager before a derby as well. Then a hiding off us, one of their best players wants to join the manager they just sacked new side, and now they plan to turn the home ground toxic for the millionth time to hound out a manager that’s been there a handful of games. The only impressive thing about them is how they can so spectacularly self sabotage in such a short span of time.
  4. Pritchard refusing to play for them and wants a move away. Presumably to join Mowbray, massive club though.
  5. What’s the point they’re trying to score? Is he shite? Or is it some grand conspiracy that he will always move once he hits a certain number of games? Why are they researching stats for our player on a random Wednesday?
  6. Good, at those prices it’s not worth it tbh. He probably has about £6m of book value so we’d only clear £6m for FFP. Phillips wasn’t worth it either imo. They wanted a lot and the upside of a Europa League finish wasn’t large enough to make up for the risk, we could finish there without him anyway. By the time he’s up to speed Willock will be back as well.
  7. Aye so basically anyone that’s famous that supports Newcastle is actually pretending seems to be their thing. Of course they at some point supported Sunderland, but changed for monetary reasons despite the mackems claiming the Sunderland fanbase are bigger, more respected by the rest of the UK and the world, it’s the logical move to try and make a cash grab by playing to a fan base they claim is smaller, fickle, and hated by everyone . Honestly man can they at least try to make some type of logical sense?
  8. His agent is probably just trying to make sure clubs know he’s going to be open to moving as he’s coming into form.
  9. I think any talk of Bruno being sold is just opinion rather than anything concrete. The bloke seems more than happy to stay, and as KD noted we should be building around him. Our FFP situation starts to really clear come summer as this year will be one of the FFP back years which will have the sale of ASM (and potentially Almiron) as well as CL money, SELA and other sponsorships.
  10. Probably Livramento, not ideal but it’s too good an opportunity to shift Almiron provided they give us the money we want.
  11. Really hope we are selling Almiron. We have Murphy and Barnes both back soon so I don’t think we need a replacement immediately, we could hold off until summer and make sure this year was strong profit FFP wise.
  12. Beeeewwwww! Is this still part of the master plan?
  13. Ashley gave poor players good wages so they had no reason to leave and he didn’t have to buy anyone, we’re now struggling with getting them off the books due to this. Then when we do manage to get rid of some of these absolutely honking players all the NUFC Twitter lot praise them for being “superb servants” and praise them for being fouled against Leeds . Manquillo was on something like £30k a week, that’s not being loyal that’s simply staying where you’re fucking overpaid. On Eales I honestly think he’s just playing it smart, riling up other clubs and stirring the conversation - it even led to Emery making a similar statement about being limited by FFP. I think we have room to sign players this window I just don’t think they want to be forced into overpaying in a window that you often have to. They probably think we will be getting players back from injury soon and will be able to turn things around to a degree to close the season out where we then will have a profitable FFP year on our record going forward.
  14. I saw a post where they were saying not to hound the manager out like the “delewwwded bunch up the road”, meanwhile in the time span we’ve had Rafa, Bruce, and Howe - of which the fan base only gave one of those pelters - they’ve had something like 10 managers . They really do just make absolute shite up. The Al-Rummayyan stuff from them is bizarre, they have this real obsession in their head that absolutely no one in the media is making points about our ownership but meanwhile it’s pretty much the only discussion the media has about NUFC . Maybe they’re not discussing this case in particular but it’s not ground breaking stuff is it? Government minister involved in dealings of the government, additionally what do they think them waffling on endlessly is going to accomplish? Focus on your own shite club not your neighbors who are light years ahead.
  15. So, they’ve bought the club at a cost of £300m, spent another £1b in court in order to get the sale through and so far spent about £400m on players and injected £100m or so into it via the share buying cash injections, the next step of this master plan is to then buy not only new land to build a new stadium on, but also buy the land SJP currently sits on. They will then lease the land they own, to the club they own (for a reason I guess). Then they will neglect to invest in players as they cite needing to pay the stadium off (so I assume the stadium build debt is burdening the club at this point). The final step of this grand plan is to then sell the club that has at this point cost you £1.3b plus the land you built the new stadium on (I’ll ignore the losses they’re covering for buying players and injecting cash into the club), at a profit while the club is heavily burdened with the debt of the stadium you’ve made it build and has by this point a presumably shit squad due to neglect? What is the ultimate point of this theoretical plan and why the fuck would the poster assume there’s any chance whatsoever it’s accurate? Why don’t they just watch football? I’ve never once just sat about dreaming up scenarios of what the mackem owners are doing with the club .
  16. Nickson was in Italy scouting Ederson at Atalanta this week apparently.
