Who the fuck would pay £10m+ for Clarke off the back of that we’ve heard non stop about how brilliant their players are, here was their chance to show something against PL opposition and they couldn’t lay a fucking glove on anyone. Trippier and Almiron had complete freedom on their flank, Gordon and Burn on theirs, and Bruno done whatever the fuck he wanted all game.

Most dominant derby performance in my life tbh, even the 5-1 and 4-1 were more balanced. The mackems are absolutely pathetic and couldn’t get near us. Excellent performance from our lot and we didn’t have to leave second gear.
Special mention for Pawson as that was one of the worst refereeing displays I’ve ever seen, thankfully it didn’t impact anything. Ballard should have walked for blatantly fouling Isak, he also should have had a yellow for running over and going at Gordon so that would have been another red for his pen, Hume who pushed Ballard close for worst player on the pitch also should have been sent off - I don’t get how you book Gordon but not Hume as the bloke is literally holding a strip of Gordon’s shirt he ripped off

The media in general were keen for it. I listened to a podcast that was recorded prior to the game after it last night, they talked about the mackem players and none of ours, said we were on an awful run and the mackems would relish playing us. Then when it came time for prediction one said the mackems would win, another said maybe Newcastle have enough, and the third said it would go to a replay
Obviously the game proved how little the up their own arse pundits are about football in general.
