    Tony Benn

I always found it funny how he changed his name from Anthony Wedgwood Benn to Tony Benn, he removed the fact that he went to Westminster School (top hat 'n aaall) from his biography and cut up rough when anyone mentioned that he'd married serious money

    Torry is full of terrorists
  3. "These planes are designed to float these days when they hit water" Absolute bollocks Parky - the transponder is designed to float if it is free of the airframe but it may well be on the sea bottom as the Air France one was a couple of years back

Shell have now waded in...... and they're not impressed either...... Lot of people in Aberdeen fretting about their jobs if the Nats win
  5. should be banned for the rest of the season b th eclub - no attendance at the games, ground or training If i did that at work , or at a football match , I'd expect to be in court next week and probably out of a job In fact if we'd lost 4-1 I suspect he'd be collecting his cards today as well
  6. Aye - we keep her ashes in the cupboard under the stairs................

Wee Eck and the Nats go on as if if we owe them everyting the refuse to see that if they go it will actually cost the rest of us a great deal of time, hassle and money to sort things out - and we;re supposed to be GRATEFUL? sorry................

Amazing! Wee Eck asks for "clarity" the Gov of the Bank of England, The Chancellor of the Exchequer and the two trukeys who shadow him say no way Jose Wee Eck - they don't know what they'r talking about..... The European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, a man who has spent most of his life in Brussels says "No way Jose" Wee Eck - he doesn't know what he is talking about I'm begginning to see a pattern here
  12. Just missed seeing him play - but what legend! Whole life at one club, never sent off , never booked 76 caps and 30 England goals
  13. saints fans on 5Live last night complainingthey'd played the reserves against the Rabble in the Cup - and now they have nothing to look forward to for the rest of the season - that's us in spades I guess

Amazing - they asy ask for "clarity" as to what the relationship will be post-independence and when they get it they go off on their stanadrd anti-English rant Sure they can keep the pound sterling - but they will have no say in setting interets rates, financial policy etc etc - I suppose it would give the Nats an on-going chip on their shoulder to bear. TBF I think Scottish & Irish pound notes should be legal tender througout the UK - it just irriataes the hell out of the Scots when they gettheir money turned away

    Art

I was reading that the Tate Modern is running a major retrospective on Richard Hamilton this year Always amazes me that a man who kicked off Pop Art and spent the critical years of his life in Newcastle 1952- 1966 and yet I doubt 1 in 100,000 knows about him or his local connection "One of the most influential British artists of the 20th century" and yet no coverage, no PR, nuffin'.... v strange
  21. unil last weekend only 40 houses had been flooded in the Somerset Levels - admittedly its pretty bad this week but what part of the words "flood plain", "water meadow" & "below sea level" do people not understand? If I lived on San Andreas fault Avenue in SF I wouldn't expect a lot of sympathy......................................
  22. It's a sad day when a powerhouse of poular music is taken over by the rubbish currently purveyed - sighs.............
  23. "What an absolute ball ache trying to pick a hotel in Venice." Not really - there's the Cipriani and the others.............. We're slumming it in the Gritti in March
