  1. well it's probably one of the few ways he gets exposed to the hoi polloi , except when he's sitting in the crowd at a match surrounded my minders cleverly desguised to look like yer average toon supporter. Cleverly disguised to look like his daughters you mean.
  2. I could understand that if it weren't for the fact that Pompey are a win away from 6th even after only winning 2 home games so far this season. Added to rejections from Bruce, O'Neil and Hughes maybe, all most likely ambitious managers.
  3. Would you be happy for Pearson to run things so we can see who's available after the Euros?

    hahaha

TBF the reason they won't read the Sun has got nothing to do with Murdoch. The only one it has anything to do with is Kelvin Mckenzie, who left the Sun years ago though. No-one at The Sun now was anything to do with their Hillsbrough coverage at the time. Mckenzie made the decision to go with the "The Truth" headline and story, and the only person above him is Murdoch (who's said that Mckenzie is his favourite editor that ever held the reigns at the sun). Who are they punishing by not reading the Sun? Oh I agree it was all McKenzie and he has nothing left to do with the Sun any more. Mud sticks though I guess and it is that reason (and nothing to do with Murdoch) why the won't read the paper. As for Gerrard serialising his book in the NOTW, I think that's a disgrace tbh. Not least because the youngest victim of the Hillsborough disaster was his own cousin. You should have heard this Scouser I know trying to justify it "It's not the same paper". No shit? It's the sister paper of The Sun though. I don't think it's that bad (Gerrard), it's just makes a mockery of the boycotting of The Sun imo. As does watching Sky or reading the Times if you ask me. All the same company that stood by the editor. You see, I agree with Alex that The Sun and NOTW are the same. The NOTW is effectively The Sun's Sunday edition. All Sky & The Times have in common with The Sun is the same media mogul owns them. That's as bad as the Mackems refusing to buy their own shirts because they're made by Umbro of whom Mike Ashley had a controlling interest. Didn't the Times editor resign because he was being pressured to run POV articles, or have I got that completely wrong?
  5. I bet Bill Gates is always pissing about on the internet. Wonder if he uses Firefox?
  6. Mort has me block booked for all team talks until we can capture Hodgson from Fulham.
  7. So, keep him doing the same job he's doing now but change its name? What a brilliant idea. People are just fucking moaning for the sake of it now. No, bring in a new top man, but stop calling him the chairman. What's Mort done wrong like? The name change is dead important too. You would think a 'chairman' would know if he's sacking the manager more than 30 minutes before hand. It's all down to the owner obviously, what's a change in job title or personnel going to do that would make that any difference in the future? Rhetorical question btw. What's not to understand? If you don't call him the chairman you don't give people the impression he is the one making the decisions. Redknapp supposedly wasn't impressed at not hearing from Ashley, so it obviously mattered to him, as it undoubtedly does to others who have to deal with our club. Ashley is out of the country. Is he in the 1920's as well? Can't get to a telegraph office. You tell, you've got the inside track. He employed Mort to do this sort of thing didn't he. Only a moron would think Ashley isn't making the decisions though. Yes, that last bit would appear to refer to you. Now fuck off, I'm going out. Thanks for your valuable time.

On a golf course in Barbados. With Shepherd and Shearer.

You would think a 'chairman' would know if he's sacking the manager more than 30 minutes before hand. Where's it come from that he didn't? The timing of events, the press conferences, the transfer dealings, Sky telling Sam he's sacked before Mort, the tedious speculation comment, the whole moving ahead together impression of the last few months.
  13. Id agree. Also on Barton, while I dont like him, what actual reason have we for getting rid, and more so why would we? thats the exact reaction that will quickly loose you £5M. No, you bring him back, get him playing (or not) and sell him. Then as for his comment about speculation being tedious, well fucking hell of course it is! What do you want him to say, "Yes, we are looking at getting rid of Sam, but dont tell him". Did he have to come out and say it? I don't think so. It puts the question in my mind, was he lying or not?

  15. Until now. What do you make of the timeline of events, given the manner of Allardyces departue and the comments about speculation. And what about Barton? He's a lawyer.

  17. How many chairman in the league know anything about football!? Very few. Hes done a better and less embarrassing job in 6 months than freddy did in the last 6 years so give the guy a break. I don't know about you but I'm pretty embarrassed by the current goings on. Do you think Peter Storrie knows nowt about football? He's just pulled off a coup for his club by influencing Redknapp to stay, saving him a lot of effort. I'm betting quite a few chairman posess that basic football logic. Does Mort?
  18. It's been cancelled due to lack of interest.
  19. The problem is that is only Bobby Robson (who really is too old and ill now ) and maybe a few managers the really aren't "good enough". Fop, are you going for Leazes record of the number of times you can repeat the same thought in different posts? No one is good enough for this club, we get it.
  20. Anyone else worried about what this guy's role is? He was supposedly on sabbatical from Freshfields, so when is he planning on returning? Is he actually making any decisions? Did he really know in advance about Sam leaving, or was he just passing on the message? If he is such a top shot lawyer why is Barton still on the books? The whole comment about the speculation being 'tedious' still pisses me off. Is it not the right time with this managerial change, to look for a more comprehensive restructure, and get a proper football minded directing officer in with the proper connections and knowledge, like not sacking managers in January. Perhaps even retire the chairman title, as I think Ashley is the de facto chairman. Bump Mort down to company lawyer and contracts consultant.

I walked past one of the best AMG Mercs money can buy, parked outside a tiny semi in Kenton Road.
  22. Explain this goddam weak-ass post beyond 'give him a chance'. Souness-Roeder-Allardyce-Tastic. I gave them all a chance. Are you just going to write him off before a ball has been kicked? Darn tootin.
  23. Redknapp just gave a TV interview, pretty convincing. Flatterred by the request, fantastic club, moving would not have been a problem, but he has been treated well by pompey management and fans, has sold the club to players, feels he owes them some loyalty. Poignantly gives the example of Distin who would be a bit miffed as he persuaded him to come to Pompey over us.
  24. I don't want to know anything about the boys you bareback.
