I was on the same page as you but in the last few games his awareness on the ball, positioning and distribution have been improved. He still has limitations but isn't getting caught out.

ASM has shown this season that he's willing to change his way of playing to fit with Eddie's expectations. Wood's physicality is being matched and nullified here because he doesn't have the nous and he's too predictable. ASM is the exact opposite of predictable.

If Wilson is not well enough to come on if I was Eddie I'd be strongly considering putting ASM on for Wood with free reign to take up his attacking position wherever he likes.

I mostly agree, however in seasons past depending which team/player/ground they probably give it. Put it this way, if the ref gave it here the VAR would not have overturned it (suggested the ref have another look). His arm was away from his body though you could say that is natural, but why then is there an expectation for defenders to have their hands behind their backs or at worst by their sides in other defensive situations?

It's hard to judge Schar's condition as he's gone down on several occassions in the past and played on. Slightly surprised Eddie is warming up Lascelles rather than Targett (with Burn to CB) if Schar does need to come off.

Sorry for your loss Brokendoll, great name for your dog as well. We've actually just welcomed a new dog into our family and so far she's an absolute treat. Our last boy passed away a few years ago after a very good 17 year innings. Between my folks and sisters we've now got five new dogs in the family (my SIL had her dog bred and we have one of the little or two). Dogs are amazing.
