Exactly. The teajms we've played are ranked so poorly because we're just that effin good.

Super Sib scored on debut for us in the Uefa Cup, despite his signing being widely considered a piss-take.
-
My memory has Coloccini starting off pretty well. Looking a little slow.. his worst games came from the middle of the season to the end when his confidence and the teams was affected by the circus in town.
-
Jonas would be ahead of N'Zogbia in terms of his input and value. Has already clocked up 113 games for us in just over three season, and that will continue to grow as he's rarely injured. Never sulks, always has a great attitude and despite most considering him a bit of a turkey in front of goals he's only scored 1 less goal than N'Zogbia and has five games up his sleeve to draw himself level. Bernard tarnished his own image with his second 'stint' here.

http://www.timesoccer.com/video/011/10-newcastle-vs-blackburn-live-highlights.html Who was right back? Check out their awesome positioning at around 1:00m - Perch standing there not really marking anyone as well. Samba's arms ALL OVER Ba shortly after... The contact from Krul shortly after was a definite pen from what you can see of it, though it looks like there's a good chance of that being offside (can't see from the camera angle). If it wasn't offside there must have been a woeful offside trap from the defensive line. Great shot for the first from Guthrie - saw the chance and took it. He looks like he's lost some weight since last season? Peach of a free-kick from Cabaye. Would have been good to see some other angles. Tough deflection for the Pedersen goal, the kind of luck we'd normally get in the league TBH. Actual decent ball into the box from Obertan in the lead up to the Lovelyhands penalty. The defending on the final set piece was absolutely woeful.

After 90 minutes we were techincally behind anyway.
-
Free kicks can be dangerous like that. Big deflection apparently. Can't be too upset though. Pardew put out a pretty strong team, had a crack at winning it and they just missed out. Changing the defense obviously caused big problems, and resends the message that we need to improve our depth there. Taylor is frequently injured, and for his pussy-footedness Williamson is prone to injury as well.

Took a Perch to break our unbeaten run. For a while there it looked like it might have taken a Smith, but no, just a Perch.

Jonas's ball movement was better with Enrique in tandem, Raylor isn't the type to push forward. I think Santon will start in the cup game hopefully at left back with Raylor moved to the right replacing Simpson. With Santon, Ben Arfa, Marveaux and Jonas pushing forward our ball movement should improve with Cabaye offering the out ball option (along with Tiote).

The worst part is that he seems to be even less aware of his team mates movement and play now than he was when he joined. Seems to be in his own world, one presumably where crosses should either land on the other side of the box or drill into the first defenders legs. Not giving up all hope, but to play that many games in a side in winning form and still look so out of place and out of sync is cause for concern. They showed the ground covered at one stage during the game (probably half time) and Obertan was 6th on the list which wasn't bad, what was bad was that for all that running he offered very little. The one positive to take from this match I guess is that he seemed to try harder in defense, and closed down their players on several occasions where previously he might have just let them go. You can't blame Pardew for wanting to give him a good chance to settle in to the team, but it has thus far been at the expense of Marveaux's place in the side despite the Marveaux looking to be the more productive of the two whenever given a chance. Marveaux absolutely has to start in the next match which I'm sure was the plan anyway, as it's a Carling Cup game. He should thereafter retain his position and be given the same amount of time as Obertan to establish himself.

Did enough just. 3 points and the juggernaut continues to roll on. Cracking goal, glad that Cabaye's first was a peach and a match winning one at that.
-
I think it's spelt whinger.
-
Great leadup play, quality control and layoff from Marveaux and a fucking beautiful finish from Cabaye. My lounge room going off at 2:40AM.
-
If Saylor was screaming that it crossed the line it's a virtual guarantee that it hasn't. Should have scored.
-
Who to take off? I don't like Cabaye being out there on a yellow tbh as they've got some pace in midfield that he's struggling to deal with. Obertan has been wasteful and has given no reason to keep him out there. Ba hasn't played well but still I wouldn't be surprised if he pops up with a goal.
-
Best should have scored there. Has been pretty good this game deapite that. Well paced cross from Jonas who has been wasteful otherwise.
