With Nolan and Tiote unavailable I wonder who will play in midfield. Just a guess but if Enrique is back (which sounds reasonably likely) then Ferguson could play down the left shifting Jonas to the right and moving Barton in to the middle to partner Guthrie. Moving Barton away from where he's been playing so well is cause for concern but we really don't have many other options in midfield.

Pretty sure that FIFA rules don't permit appeals against yellow cards. FIFA rules :icon_lol: So that's potentially a 2 match suspension for possibly not even touching the playing that he was adjudged to have fouled?

Regarding the Nolan yellow card in this one, can anyone confirm whether he actually touched their player? When I first watched it it looked like he did, but apparently on a replay it was evident that he didn't contact their player? - If this is the case I assume the club will be appealing and he'll avoid the two match suspension?

Can't agree with this. Rooney was swearing directly at the camera, likely to supporters? Whatever the case it was aimed directly down the camera and was pathetic. I play football and I've sworn too many times on the pitch to recall, but always at other players or at something stupid I've done myself. Swearing directly at a ref here is a sure way to get yourself a yellow card (a few season back they made every player sign a form to say that they were aware that swearing of any kind would not be tolerated etc etc), in fact the refs are well within their rights to dispense cards for swearing that's not directed at them. It was clearly audible. Rooney's a fuckwit.

Jonas fed Loven down the left flank. Loven crossed to the back post and Ameobi wanted it the most. The Nolan yellow sucks (it was the right foul to make), but on the whole 2-0 up is a very good position to be (if you're not West Ham).
